GTA 5 is dead, long live GTA Online

Two year’s later, Online is now the default GTA game as the single-player dream dies.

trywizardo3146d ago

mostly because gamers upgraded from 360 and PS3 to current gen games (like me), and we finished the SP on last gen and skipped the SP ...
But I might play the story just for fun :D

Blaze9293145d ago

they just need to make these entirely separate games tbh. GTA Online's potential is too massive for it to just be focused as a multiplayer portion of a game.

And GTA Single Player needs revamping and focusing as well.

I still haven't completed the story...

Online was just too much fun.

Im never able to beat Rockstar's single player modes very quickly. Red Dead and GTA 4 took me yeeeears to beat, and even though it felt worth it in the end the whole process of driving around listening to the same dialogue repeat itself and shooting some crap just felt monotonous. And pretty much wll the games have the same "American Dream is dead" theme with some eccentric characters and some straight faced ones.

But i love their multiplayer modes. Always have.

KwietStorm_BLM3145d ago

Years? Are you exaggerating?

Concertoine3145d ago

Im really not. I got red dead in 2010 and maxed in multiplayer before i beat the single player. I dont think i beat it until 2012.

ImAPotato3145d ago

I haven't beat the story of any GTA game :/ every time I try playing I get distracted by how much fun it is to just cause havoc, so I end up killing people and running them over for about an hour then get off. Probably the farthest I got to was about 30% done in GTA4

I have played through the story twice making different decisions about how to pull of the jobs, and who to kill. Once on ps3 and once for the remaster. I gave the online a brief play, but wasn't sold on it.

I am a predominantly story mode player in its defense.

I preferred playing the Story Mode more than Online. GTA V Online is full of Juvenile Delinquents playing out their fake wannabe gangsta persona online.

I've had fun in private lobbies, Heists etc ..but it seems the more people you have in a lobby, the longer it takes to get things going. I loathe sitting in lobbies waiting on people because of interuptions like phone calls, and awful music some people play in their home is so irritating when it's coming through headsets.

Online is good, don't get me wrong, but it can be so disorganized and obtrusive too. I miss 4 controllers plugged into a console and actual friends would be in the same room with banter and jokes!

Wait is that still a problem with GTA 5 as I hated that in GTA 4.

I still haven't played GTA 5 and I wanted to finally try it.

Some days good, some days terrible ...you need a lot of patience to play some games online /

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6911d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos11d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius11d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8511d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius11d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
