Facebreaker Demo Disappoints

Facebreaker would have been a great game if it had the same engine and control scheme as Fight Night with over-the-top, exaggerated damage and animation.

I don't think it was that bad for what its ment to be. It's more a casual boxing game. Simple to pick up and play yeah it's a button masher but if you give the controls to your girlfriend while play Tekken, SC4 or VF5 what do you think she's gonna do? Yup thats right button mash. It's meant to be an easily accessable fun boxing game with over the top animations and characters. My only real complaint is that each fighter should've had like 4 facebreakers atleast.

I like the rendering myself with the Ps Eye.. that was funny.. but the gameplay was stupid.. I deleted it after the first fight... but that doesnt really say anything.. I think boxing games are boring.. Unless its MT punch out

The Ready 2 Rumble of todays generation. To me Ready 2 Rumble was the best arcade (other than MTPunchout) boxing game of all time.

I also tried the demo, and thought the gameplay was over done. It seemed like it tries to be a fighting game, then try to be a boxing game too. It's weird and hard to explain.

But definitely disappointing. I was hoping this to be the next super punch out or something.

This should be a 9.99 game and be available on the psn and live.. Not a 60 dollar game..

Mike tyson punch out is fifty million times better than this game.. Mike tyson punch out is still one of the best boxing games to date actually.. lol..

It should be a PSN or Xbox Live game. The gameplay is too simple, and the graphics aren't good enough for this to be a full priced game. I couldn't see this game selling well even if it did use Fight Nights gameplay for $60. The game does offer some nice features like using the Eyetoy to take pictures of yourself to create a boxer, but it takes forever for it to render your boxers face. It has to be a discount game for it to sell, or it should be put on PSN and Xbox Live for $15 or $20. I think it would sell a lot more copies and get a higher rating than what it's going to.

I downloaded this game played it for 2 minutes and deleted it straight away, first time ever i have done that, i normally give poor demos a chance, i think that says it all

The only other demo I gave such little attention was the other boxing game, Dong King .

1. No atmostphere except some idiot being nicked and a weirdo washing his car.

2. That fat character knocked me out in one combo.

3. Not at all what I expected.

4. A bad time for boxing games. Better dust off fight Night again

I was expecting EA's version of Ready 2 Rumble, but this game is crap! What made R2R cool was that you could throw the six basic punches and string together combos, like REAL boxing. Plus you could actually defend, all while being fun and over the top.

The ONLY good things are the graphics and the face creator. I hope EA Freestyle doesn't ruin all the great EA BIG franchises.

As a fan of the Ready to Rumble series I was looking forward to FaceBreaker and after playing the demo I was left pretty shocked at where the game is currently. It's definitely a button masher. I even tried to add a little bit of strategy into the game and the game refuses to let strategy work. Even counter moves are activated by button mashing. Getting your ass kicked? No problem, just hold the counter button and keep pressing the punch button as fast as you can until it counters.

The game is more like Sock-Em Bockem Robots in digital form more than anything else.

Even more ironic that EA made comments about how "forgettable" Ready to Rumble characters were and the other flaws the game has and their game isn't even as polished. Gotta love that marketing team.
