Team Ninja’s Hayashi Reveals More Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Details

In a recent interview with Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi, the developer revealed a few more details about Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

The Dengeki Online interview with both Team Ninja’s Hayashi and lead Senran Kagura developer Kenichiro Takaki has been summarized by Gamestalk.net. LewdGamer has translated the important details.

“DoA Xtreme 3” is in development at 60 frames per second for the PS4 version. The characters are even more stunning than any others in the series. In order to get that extra presence, they might even cross the boundaries of 2D and 3D, at least, that’s what Mr. Hayashi says.

"There’s going to be a lot more time put into the development of the character’s facial expressions, looks, and mannerisms. That’s actually why all the female cast couldn’t be added in. We didn’t really want to just leave the decision up to the development staff and alienate the fans, which is why we thought up the theme voting. We wanted a realistic picture of which characters were most popular, and we think we did that with the theme downloads."

......OR here is a crazy idea: how about finishing the development of the game and releasing the complete package with the entire cast of characters? Is that too much to ask?

It would please all of the fans of these characters that way and you wouldn't have to worry about alienating anyone, no? (-_- ')

DarkBlood3178d ago

That would make the development more expensive as your qoute pointed out.

Fierce Musashi3178d ago (Edited 3178d ago )

Of course it would. However, they would not have to risk, as they've put it, "alienating" some of their fans in the long run, thus securing a bigger interest which can result in better sales. What if some people have lost interest in the game entirely because they've found out their favorite character didn't make the cut? That means they've lost a purchase. I've already seen some people who were talking about importing it saying they no longer were because their favorite is more than likely to be cut or, what I think will be the case, sold as DLC and/or added in an "Ultimate Edition". I have no doubt some of their Japanese fans are thinking the same since they are literally voting with their wallets.

They should trust their fans, not play around with them this way.

Meh Sexy Beach Premium Resort is better at least it has context to assynittays and better yet you can create your squeeze if you want to.

I have no confidence in Team Ninja with Hayashi after they ruined one of my favorite game series of all time, Ninja Gaiden, with a craptastic game called Ninja Gaiden 3!

DualWielding3177d ago

I am really interested in this game but my level of hype has gone down since finding out Mila who is my favorite character is not going to be making it to the game... they should have taken non Japanese fans onto consideration... I think Mila is much more popular outside Japan

Erogemaster23176d ago

Quit your crying. Im playing Sexy Becah premium resort and im having a blast when is your game coming out.

Think there's a chance this will get ported to the pc, or did the Last Round burn that bridge?

Team Ninja Doesn't Get Enough Credit For Its Stories

Saad from eXputer: "Team Ninja's stories may not appeal to everyone due to their barebones nature but they deserve credit for being fun."

mastershredder70d ago (Edited 70d ago )

Exputer dude says Team Ninja needs more credit for their stories (what their known for) and credit for being fun (also known for challenging and fun gameplay). Team Ninja gets a LOT of credit. That's why they keep making games. You just can't expect everyone to award them the attention-level and regard that you think they deserve.

"I’m aware that some things are often not for everyone. Not because someone is actively gatekeeping but due to the product or premise failing to appeal to the masses" - Hmmm l dunno, sounds kinda like we are about to go for a cruise down gatekeeper blvd to me.

Takeaway, Exputer as a pimple gaming journal site that should not be concerned about the recognition standards of a studio they have zero involvement in. You perspective is outsider and totally disconnected from reality as far as how the industry sees them.

Takeaway 2, Exputer is only in about a generation deep into Team Ninja. Posers. Take your gate keepy BS and shove it. We know what makes team ninja great and they are doing just fine doing what THEY do.

Every branch under Koei Tecmo is talented I am a big fan of theirs no matter what the game is or who makes it.

GoodGuy0970d ago (Edited 70d ago )

I thought Nioh 1+2's stories were fine, nothing amazing but they kept me interested. William and the Protag in 2 were pretty cool. Wo Long was ok I guess but it just felt like another retelling of the three kingdoms again which we've seen told so much in video games and especially dynasty warriors.

Where is a new DEAD OR ALIVE !!!!
That is the only game we care about from Team Ninja 😂
