GameArgus Review: Underwater Attack

GameArgus writes: "Managing to blatantly copy multiple successful titles, Underwater Attack is a budget priced horizontal shooter aimed for a casual market. It literally steals from PopCap's Heavy Weapon in that it features the same weapon set almost in its entirety, and they even look the same on screen when used. Include Geometry Wars 360 degree shooting in a horizontal scrolling title and you have UFO's Underwater Attack.

Copy or not, Underwater Attack is still enjoyable. It takes some time to get started and up to speed. In fact, the first few levels before your ship is powered up could be enough to turn off those who are less patient. They're terrible, with no intensity, awful weapons, and a ship that moves are 10% of the speed of the enemy."

IGN: Underwater Attack Review

IGN writes: "I appreciate when games cut to the chase. Superfluous titles and obscure cover art confuse my mind grapes. This is why I get games like Underwater Attack. The cover has a submarine with a gun attachment on it. Okay, I think I've got this game mostly figured out. There are a couple things bugging me about Underwater Attack though: 1. How do lasers and fireballs work in a shooter set at the bottom of the ocean? And 2. What the crap are with these controls?

Underwater Attack is a futuristic shooter game set not in space, but in Waterworld or something. The future has happened and the earth is now flooded, according to the poorly translated storyline (not the funny kind of poor translation either, just the "huh?" kind)."
