I am going to wait for the physical edition. And tbh, business wise, i cant see how this will benefit the devs/pubs. The game looks really awesome but releasing the content all over the year Destiny style doesn't exactly fit a game like this but we will see.

And hopefully the game doesn't tank because of this business decision. Hitman is an awesome franchise that i hate to see it go down.

Wait Wait Wait

So they just said 7 missions episode based so more down the road.

$50 7 missions no one is mad or go to go nuts about this?.

Oh right this is not mgs ground zeros....

die_fiend3169d ago

Ground Zeroes was high quality though - something a lot of people don't take into account. Journey was a short game, but was it also amazing? Yes indeedy! And their prices weren't that disparate...

Maybe it will be 1h, 1,5h, 2h missions each, that wound give you minimum 7h and maximum of 14h gameplay, the order was in the same range and yet people were paying 60 bucks.

Maybe later missions will be at no additional cost, at least part of them, but they stated that new hitman will not have any paid dlc, so maybe the will all be free.

Yep, I'll wait for the complete game. This fad about episodic content in games needs to stop and go away.

Perjoss3169d ago

It's early access in disguise, asking people to hand over cash for unfinished games. What if SE isn't happy with initial sales? do you really think they will keep every team member on the project or do the smart thing (from a business perspective) and start moving them over to another project?

Takwin3169d ago

I have a list of games I have preordered and others I am eagerly awaiting. I just removed Hitman from this list.

I will wait 6-12 months until the game is finished.

I am in mood to fund episodic-style development for a game like this.

You dropped the ball Squeenix.

annoyedgamer3169d ago

Not way I am shelling out for this rubbish. Give me a full game or else.

HumanatPlay3169d ago

Yeah they seem to be doing well with Life is Strange. Thing is no one should pay for a game that isn't finished.

sangoku_d3168d ago

hitman went "down" with absolution, now theyre bringing back up to blood money level with scripted ai (upto 200) characters going about their business and theyll have sub-missions. i know i used to play the old contracts and blood money missions dozens of times each to see different outcomes.

Is the new movie a tie-in with this?

Audiggity3169d ago

How did you get a disagree from a question?

Only on N4G.

I don't think* it is... I hope it isn't... with the movie's whopping 8% on RottenTomatoes.

Why not just.. idk.. finish the game before releasing it?

No thanks Square. I will just wait for the psychical copy of the game.

WitWolfy3169d ago

I think its to please board members... Or it was behind schedule to where it was supposed to be.

Takwin3169d ago

I will wait for it to be complete AND cheaper on Steam, or better yet, a place like G2A or CDKeys.

It’s the 25th anniversary this year?

I’d have assumed it would have gotten something like a remastered trilogy of the original games or a remake of the first game. Something for a 25th celebration.

A Deep Dive On all Things Hitman With The Voices Behind Agent 47 And Diana Burnwood

From PSU: "Ten years ago, the Hitman franchise was in a transitory state. Blood Money had become something of a classic and with Hitman Absolution there was a clear decision to push IO Interactive’s assassination sim series to a whole new level. That experimental, often divisive, entry turned out to be pivotal in what would follow.

Elements of Absolution, such as its accessibility and player-created content, would be mixed with the more traditional Hitman games’ sense of murderous creativity to birth the Hitman Trilogy 0f 2016-2021. A series that would take its creators on a turbulent journey of publisher changes, independence, and the eventual triumph of being handed the tantalizing 007 license."
