Eurogamer:
Hello, have you had a good week? I hope so. Rare certainly has - Rare Replay gave the developer its first UK number 1 since Banjo Kazooie launched way back in 1998.
To celebrate, we got round the proverbial campfire to share our fondest memories of Rare's back catalogue. After that, Ian takes a look at The Escapists: The Walking Dead. Is the experience rotten, or is it a born survivor? Have a watch and find out!
KeenGamer: "A good prison simulator can be a strong statement as to why we need more of them like The Escapists 2. Because they're always a great way to satisfy our itch of performing a Shawshank Redemption style escape from a high-security penitentiary."
Starting today, The Escapists is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offers run until September 30 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim it, it’s yours to keep.
As an Xbox website, it would be remiss to say that the Xbox One has had its’ detractors this generation. After stumbling about with their Xbox One reveal a few years before, Microsoft and their gaming brand were in a period of transition. But Rare Replay had another trick up its sleeve to appeal to a core Xbox audience. Their announcement promised 30 games priced at £20, with 10000 Gamerscore. It was an achievement hunters wet dream.
