When Puzzle Quest came out more than a year ago, people weren't sure how well a role-playing game would blend with a puzzle game. It sounded like a strange idea, but the mixture was delightful. Looking to bank on that same improbable success is Go Go Break Steady, a rhythm- and puzzle-game hybrid. Although the genre blend isn't as seamless as Puzzle Quest's, and the rhythm gameplay isn't as tight as it should be, the two components work well enough together to provide an interesting and sometimes enjoyable experience.
The Good:
* Break dancers have a fun cartoon design and animate smoothly
* Puzzle and rhythm elements complement one another nicely.
The Bad:
* Rhythm portions often feel off
* The tracklist isn't very exciting
* Break-dancing theme comes off too cheesy.
In an attempt to market the Xbox Live Arcade game Go! Go! Break Steady, marketing firm 'Taxi' invited a bunch of B-Boys (and Girls) and pop-n-lockers to a fake audition. The dancers showed off their skills, but were then asked to do it again while solving a puzzle, emulating what you do in the XBLA game. Hilarity ensued. Check out the video.
Pretty creative marketing, I'd say, but I bet those kids finding out it was "fake" were pretty pissed.
At least they'd get some exposure, ending up in the video or commercial or whatever that was.
Cookigaki thinks it is XNA game, the indie things. Cookigaki did not see any hot chicks in game though so Cookigaki will probably not play it.

Go! Go! Break Steady combines rhythmic beat-matching with match-3 style puzzle gameplay. Choose your character and make him dance to the beat while solving increasingly challenging puzzles.
