Failed Kickstarter Videogame Campaigns and Analysis for September 2015

Marcus Estrada writes: "Every month Kickstarter is full of wild successes, and depressing failures. While some are always going to have that massive fan push behind them to see hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding others barely make it to the finish line. Due to the nature of Kickstarter, there’s simply not enough money to go around to fund every worthwhile campaign. The purpose of this post is to shine a light on those campaigns that had the chops for success, but for one reason or another failed to make their goal this time."

Grip looks kinda fun. 600k is a lot of money though. I'm surprised they got as much backing as they did.

The problem is publicising your Kickstarter - I haven't heard of a single Kickstarter mentioned in that article. You might be able to get it mentioned on a few specialist gaming sites and in specific communities, but it's incredibly difficult to break through into the mainstream gaming press unless you're already a well known developer.

Totally agree with you. A lot of the bigger sites aren't fans of writing about Kickstarter games unless they're enormously significant.

Mooncrest's Kickstarter Failure Was An Inevitability

Serena Nelson writes: "Based on what I saw of the pitch I was certain it would fail. Not because I like seeing projects flounder. Far from it. I actually was hoping it would do better than the 11% in a week. But, there was a lot of issues with it that sent up more than a few red flags. Intentional or not it was a campaign that was doomed from the start."
