Frogger 2: MSXBox Review

MSXBox writes: "The game play and story are very forgettable, and the games brightest point, the multi player, won't shine enough to make this a must have game. I was throughly disappointed with the direction Frogger 2 took after having fond memories of the original. If your in the mood to play a game with your little green buddy Frogger, save 400 Microsoft points and download the original version. And here is the question of the ages......Why would they make a game with a frog that doesn't know how to swim?"

Backwards compatibility is starting to blow up. I bet publishers are seeing increased sales from older titles.

curtis922911d ago

They barely see sales on new XBO games, though.

annoyedgamer2911d ago

lame..no Black Ops 1

Deus Ex HR was always on there this is just the Directors Cut.

Femto2911d ago

The directors cut is much better, has many differences from the original. And mankind divided is coming out soon so this is a perfect time

ScorpiusX2911d ago

Activision may be re-mastering for release with its next COD game after infinite war .............

gangsta_red2911d ago

All these small games and still no Sonic All Star Racing...

EDKICK2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

Anyone underwhelmed about BC titles lately have to understand that MS is probably waiting for BC blowout during their E3 press conference. Black Ops, Bioshock and other big titles have already been confirmed for BC at some point. Read Dead and other long rumored. I'll be very surprised if we don't see many of the most requested BC games announced at E3.

Not only is this a promising emulator, but it's also a permanent solution for the 3RRoD.

SliceOfTruth8883689d ago

this hasnt been a problem for years now

Mystogan3689d ago (Edited 3689d ago )

Scumbag developer... Showcases how well the emulator works...with frogger...

*after watching the video... It doesn't even run frogger properly... I bet it will crash when you startup Angry Birds..

Chrono3688d ago

They always start with simple games. The fact that a simple Xbox 360 game is being emulated means they achieved something. All emulators started like this.

SteamPowered3689d ago

Thats pretty cool. Except for GTA V and some racers, I cant think of too many games I would play that didnt port over to PC already.

starchild3689d ago

Gears of War, Halo and Tenchu Z for me.

Rivitur3689d ago

Gears of war and Halo are on PC tho (of course u mean GoW2,3 and Halo 3,4, and Odst) : P

Kaiou3689d ago

Lost Odyssey , Tales of Vespirea

SteamPowered3689d ago

I'm so sad Tales of Symphonia didn't release a bundle for 360 or pc. My ps3 died last year or I would be playing it this very minute.

Kaiou3689d ago

Well , we are on the topic of emulation so you can actually play Tales of Symphonia on your pc , just get the GC/Wii game and download Dolphin.

Obviously starting off with the big hitters

TheOrder18863689d ago

" Well, here is some good news for X360 fans "

You mean for people that can't afford a Xbox 360?

TheOrder18863689d ago

I can't edit, what is with the downvotes? Butthurt?

kwyjibo3689d ago

You're getting down votes because you made a idiotic comment, hope that's helpful.

When companies drop support for old systems, emulation is the way to go. You might be looking forward to buying all your PS2 games again on Gaikai like an obedient little consumer, I'm just running them on PCSX2.

kayoss3688d ago (Edited 3688d ago )

You're an idiot. So if a company drop support for a system... the best thing to do is pirate games. Seems logical to me. /S
If a company drop support for that system that means that the system is no longer revelant therefore they need to move forward. This is how progression works.
This is how things work. Consumers buy things this is what keeps the world going. If everyone stop buying things you would not have those precious games to emulate.

kwyjibo3688d ago

Great position Kayoss - if a company drops support for a system, we should forget the past. Now that Ground Zeroes is out, you should not play any of the older Metal Gears.

If you want to play those older games (which you shouldn't, because that's not how progression works) then you must plug all your old consoles with their obsolete outputs and scratched disks into your new TV.

That's your position. Most people would say that you are the idiot. They'd probably say it to your face, so do try to keep quiet.

Kaiou3689d ago

I downvoted because what you said didn't make sense , if someone can't afford a 360 ($100-$200 !) then how the hell can they afford a monster PC to run this emulator??.

Eonjay3689d ago (Edited 3689d ago )

Its a tad slow. Does anyone know the hardware requirements for proper 360 emulation?

Edit: waiting for smart ass "an Xbox 360 duh" response lol.

Mystogan3689d ago

Slow with frogger... Imagine a game like Halo or Gears xD.

LAWSON723689d ago

Emulation of 360 will not work with something equivalent to 360 at full speed especially at the start of a working stable version and probably not at anytime in its future.

Console Monster: Frogger 2 Mini-Review

Console Monster writes: "Do you know there have been a total of two other Frogger games bearing the name 'Frogger 2'? No, nor did I and after playing Frogger 2 for the Xbox Live Arcade, I'd rather give those others a miss.

I seem to be picking the short straw when it comes to reviewing these Arcade titles because yet again we have another duff title on our hands. At the crazy price of 800 Microsoft Points it doesn't come cheap either and one would have to wonder if this'll land in the 'Games to be removed' by Microsoft pile; despite it only being released as they announced this particular method of removing older titles.

For those who aren't aware, Frogger is a frog..."
