Just Add Water 'still planning' Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus remake, figuring out 'special stuff' to add

In an interview with PlayStation Access, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning reveals his studio Just Add Water are still in the planning stages for the announced remake of 1998's Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus.

The team are trying to think what 'special stuff' they can add to improve it, much like Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! which infused the original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee with features from Exoddus.

They need to figure out how not to make it worse than original,..Mathewmatosis had really great points https://www.youtube.com/wat... ,..
Still had fun with it though

Just Add Water needs to rehire Steven Old the original artist who made the 95 % of the concept art for the original Abe's Oddyssee and he gave to it its special unique presentation and atmosphere, after Abes Oddysee , Steven probaly departed resulting to the start of downfall for Oddworld games ... JAW just bring him back

Worse than the original? I thought it was a very stellar remake, I'd find it hard going back to the PS1 iteration of the game having playing New N Tasty.

I loved the game,.. but please watch mathewmatosis comparison vid I posted,.. There are some valid issues with it https://www.youtube.com/wat...

ThatEnglishDude3223d ago

They don't really need to add anything. It's a screen by screen remake.

This makes me happy! New'n'Tasty was all kinds of awesome (I could have died of nostalgia)! Hope they announce Exoddus soon and that it won't take forever to release!

If its like AO its a real remake and not just a port.

breakpad2978d ago (Edited 2978d ago )

i ve said it again..if they dont hire back Steven Old the main responsible artist for the super atmospheric art of the original Abes Oddyssee, they cannot achieve the same successful results and distinct from the maze (ys i m not sure if Steven Old is even alive, but he was one of these artist who was completely responsible for the character of the game but he lost as common fodder in the credits)

bouzebbal2978d ago

i would personaly prefer an HD port. I didn't like the remake that much. It's not close to be as precise as the original. I found that frustrating.

Coachkeys2978d ago

They've been saying this for a while now. They even mentioned a brand new game in this style after AE. I can't wait!
