Just Add Water re-builds Abe’s Oddysee for the current generation and keeps all the charm.
Starting today, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until December 19 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim it, it’s yours to keep.
"If you're a 2D puzzle adventure aficionado who doesn't already own Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on one of the half dozen consoles that it's currently available for then it'll make for a worthy purchase but those who do have it will find little reason to get it again on Switch." - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "All Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty! managed to do was frustrate me. However, it did make me appreciate the controls in Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee more. Honestly, if you’re new to the franchise, it might even be better to just skip ahead to Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. At least those gameplay mechanics feel like something more from this era. That being said, if you’re a die hard fan of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee or perhaps just a glutton for punishment, then perhaps try your luck with Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty!."
3:30 on PS4 version made me chuckle. Excellent glitch.
Game look the same on both. I have it on PS4 but really want it on Vita. Maybe they could use more classic features and controls. Great but the original game is still the king. I don't like the controls in this game as much and the artstyle is not dark like the bitmapped art was back in 1997.
1. Back grounds - Too polished and vibrant
2. Controls - Too loose, original had tightest controls which you need for these puzzles
3. Separate Screens - Rolling screens just feel weird
4. Level Design - Some of them are improved but other changes like using a lever instead of a pulled chain as @3:15 is just not as intriguing like the original game had.
Oddworld is special and the changes weren't needed.
Game looks fine on both to me.
Really? A comparison of a remake of a ps1 game?
Oh, it's GamingBolt.
