Xbox Live Games with Gold for July 2015

This July represents two full years since we began giving Gold members access to amazing games, completely free. As a special thank you to our Xbox fans, we’re announcing that starting in July, Games with Gold will offer two new games on Xbox One every month.

Finally a real game, not some arcade trash. Now, I have no real desire to play Assassins Creed but its good to finally see a major release for free on the X1. Hopefully next month they continue with 2 games a month with 1 of them being a real title.

Cool, whats most interesting to me is the Gears3 for Xbox 360...I believe you can download it even if you no longer have your 360 by going to Xbox.com and using your Gold account then when they make it available for X1 BC you can play it free on X1 with all the added DVR perks as well.

This has been an especially sweet month and the good news is all the holiday X1 blockbuster exclusives are still to come with a awseome 2016 lined up after that, great job Micorosft.

Was wondering when they were going to add a big game to the list. A lot of people were expecting Ryse to be the first for some reason. I was thinking that they gave Black Flag already but I think that was on 360, I think.

I hated 3. The main character was so lame and whiny. I probably like 2 then Black Flag and despite what everyone says I like Unity, if only for how detailed Paris is.

3 was the worst. Black Flag is a 5.5 out of 10. All the others are awesome.

* AC4:Black Flag was an awesome pirate game and the best AC game since AC2:brotherhood.

* I won't be playing the story again, but I'll download it for the multiplayer.

The multiplayer is fun in these games, can't believe they got rid of it in Unity...such a dumb move.

Good month. Glad to see them adding an extra game for Xbone. Ill pick up black flag again just to sail around.

Gears will eventually hit the BC list too, which is just an even sweeter deal.

Black Flag has been available for a few quid ever since the AC bundle with digital keys got sold like hotcakes on black friday. Still, good to see a "proper" full retail game on the service. Hopefully more like that to follow.

Must remember to pick up 360 games from now on as well. Gears 3 is certain to work on the Xbox One when BC releases properly.

I highly recommend it.

Word of warning.

If you really want to Platinum the game get the multiplayer trophies through Wolfpack. You gain a ton more experience that way.

Why the ones that you get with the PS4 version.

It still doesn't invalidate my recommendation. Its still the same game on XB1. I just like being honest.

Trust me it will be much better playing the X1 version than the 360 version especially with all the graphical upgrades.

OT: I'm glad to be getting AC:IV. I wanted to snag it on X360 back when it was free there, but I'm glad it's showing up on XO now. I'd much rather give it a go with a better picture than wait for the title to show up within Backwards Compatibility in a few months.

Nice. Between this and the BC announcement its been a really great month for Xbox. Nice to finally see full retail games included. Hopefully with Backward compatibility Xbox One owners will be able to download and play certain Xbox 360 GWG tiltles.

Well considering the games we were getting before PS+ was mandatory for online, there's definitely a drop in quality. Even for PS3 and PS Vita games.

Gears 3!! Time to rev up my chainsaw again and get back on some of the best multiplayer action I have ever experienced.

Not a huge AC fan, I don't know why MS won't offer some of their launch titles as free games like Deadrising 3 or Ryse.

Since Gears 3 will more than likely be BC, it really is like 3 free games on XB1. I think from now on, MS will keep releasing X360 games that are BC so that will add more value to Live.

MS already announced they will have all their first party game made BC. If they are releasing Gears 2 and 3 as HD remaster, they would have already done it with a Trilogy remaster instead of just Gears 1. The only reason Gears 1 was made was because the game was already released on PC and it is a great showcase piece for Cross play of Windows 10 of XB1 and PC. Don't hold your breath on anymore HD remake from MS after BC as they can now concentrate on Making new games and have the x360 emulator take care of the entire XB1 lineup from now on. PS4 and Sony don't have the same BC luxury as MS.

You can do it through the xbox store website, just buy it on there it should say free as price if you signed in with your gold account.

If you guys haven't played Black Flag at this point do yourself a favor and play through it. Fantastic story, incredible exploration, and high seas ship battles. My second favorite AC game behind 2.

Login to Xbox.com. Search games and purchase once it's available for free for Xbox games for gold under your account.

I've been getting 360 games if there are games I want for free although I don't have a 360 anymore. Was hoping for bc and it's now coming.

Actually pretty good month. Just bought Gears 3 a couple weeks ago but never got to playing it, hate it when that happens, only paid $3.89 with case/manual, though.

Just get it on the Xbox.com store, you can't download them just purchase the free games

yeah log on to their website and sign in, you can *buy* them over the web-store. as soon as bc was announced i started, i wish i started earlier but oh well... i missed most of the 360 games as my house got robbed and they stole my 360 (bought a ps3 after that) and never got round to getting another. pretty excited to play games i couldnt play last gen

this is rad wanted to play black flag properly was playing it on pc but i prefer games like this on my couch so i never played too much (pc is used for games like wasteland 2, divinity etc), sure its only 10$ at my local game store now but i held off because i thought it might be a game that came to gold. seems i was right. beig a pirate is rad

Nice, I played Black Flag on 360 and I didn't really care to download it with my AC Xbox One bundle so I gave the code to a friend who wanted it. Now I may as well get it while its free, even if I don't play it anytime soon.
