That is beautiful. Those graphics are crazy, and they're probably gonna get better. That bommerang thing's pretty cool too.

In a way, I kind of missed the old style, but at least they're trying to do something different.

Gears sh8t all over it. After playing GOW on my 52" HD and on a 102" HD projector everything else just looks good not great.

This game looks great and there is plenty of time for improvement on the visual side. Gears looks great too, but there is defiantly some room for improvement. I'm looking at it on a 61" 1080p display so I see everything!! I don't think that it is fair to say that "Gears Sh8ts all over" this game, it's not even out yet. Wait until the game comes out to make a blut statment like that.

Give it some time Gears will be the "standard" of HD and something else will be considered better.

What is the level for judgement. Is great like a 10 or is it a 8. If GEARS is great then this is good. Fair enough, I need to see this in front of me. BTW if GEARS was done in 1080p you might get better results on the 1080p display. There are levels on gears that are just a rendered masterpiece.

gsquad6362d ago (Edited 6362d ago )

That includes a 9! (which is what most reviews gave GOW.) I never said that the game was written for 1080p. In fact it was written for 720p but.... The X360 up converts and so does my HDTV so yes I SEE IT ALL!!!! I looked at the HD version of the Dark Sector video and it looks good, real good.

As a matter of fact you just proved my point. Your words,

"Fair enough, I need to see this in front of me."

All I'm saying is reserve judgment until the game comes out!

And I agree There are levels on Gears that are rendered masterpiece, but there IS room for improvement.

Case in point. On the level "DownPour" The water looks great on the ground and on the trees but there is little-to-no interaction with the character models. The rain doesn't hit the characters or role off of their armor. (only if you stand under a place where the water is falling off of something as a stream.)

I could cite other areas but there is not point, you get the drift. I'm not saying that the game is bad, but I'm also not saying that this is the end all of gaming visuals.

There will always be something better and I have seen some games that already show a lot of promise. This is one of them.

Edit:
P.s. To Oldb0y, Cliffy B said something about jumping that I really agree with. (and I am paraphrasing) "In a real fire-fight you will not be jumping about like a mad-man." In to many games like halo 1&2, Unreal and other games resort to jumping and it gets really old really quick.

In a real gunfight you would be rolling, ducking, taking cover, blind firing, sound like some game we know!!!

Just a thought, jumping is not realistic for a protagonists to do IN A WAR.

Five of the Best: PlayStation 3 Hidden Gems

Chris Needham writes: "With the launch of both the PS4 and the Xbox One now a fading memory, the current generation of gaming consoles has well and truly established itself, with games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight and, of course, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, all justifiably taking the limelight. Here at Power Up Gaming, however, we’re not so keen to let go of the past. Originally starting out our coverage as primarily a retro games outlet, we take great pleasure in revelling in the titles of yesteryear."

That's interesting, They approached Sony with ideas several times, since they are independent, I wished Sony would have published one of their ideas as an exclusive! I loved Dark Sector, even the original concept of the game! Going to see about Warframe at launch.
