DOOM - First Official Gameplay Trailer Released

Bethesda has released the first official trailer for DOOM.

I liked the look of this game. I'm hearing a lot of negative things already though which is disappointing to hear.

I think the problem is that the levels they showed were very similar to those of Doom 3 (even the Hell level is similar to the one of Doom 3, let alone the first one). Enemies were also based on the Doom 3 models.

It's like they married Doom 3 (level design + enemies) with the gameplay of the first Doom (alongside some ideas like the executions and the weapon wheel. Oh, and no more dark places).

Basically, this is what Doom 3 should have been in the first place. Looks interesting, but it seriously needs some more open environments

This is not a halo killer in any shape or form lol. Don't know why it has to be. This is a compliment to halo if anything since halo has been holding the fort for old school arena shooters for so long.

Just cocking the shotgun at the beginning of the E3 demo gave me wood

Just remember guys, he's playing a lighter difficulty because it's an on-stage demo. It'd be annoying for the audience if he kept dying repeatedly. I think it looks great! It really reminds me of Resistance 3 and I loved that game to death.

I know a lot of people think that FPS games are overdone, but I feel a bit differently. I think military FPS games are too overdone and bland. However, sci-fi shooters like Doom, Resistance, Halo, Bioshock, etc. these add a refreshing coating to the FPS genre. I prefer FPS games that resemble oldschool shooters.

As long as an FPS has original gameplay,and stays away from realism, I think you'll get a really fun experience

I agree, this game is gimmicky and arcadey in nature, the finishing moves will get tiresome after so long, and then what?

smh. Another bargain bin shooter after the newness and nostalgia wears off, would have preferred a sequel to Doom 3.

Oh well, 1 less game to have to pay for, R.I.P Doom, its all about the stupid social multiplayer experience,and mindless violence, blood and gore,ugh.

Sorry but this game does not look scary at all. Where is the horror and the suspense? This looks more like creature feature action fps game with to much light and and exposure everywhere

Doom and Doom 2 were never scary games or tense in anyway they were mindless,faster shooters and this seems a go back to the old school roots.

Looks great, sure there's a few things that could still be improved but the fact that they are going this much in the right direction gets my thumbs up.

I hope they allow users to scale/customize some of the Rooms to allow more open environments or something. If it's just building the level from pre-defined blocks it wont be all that interesting.
