Knew it! Remember when sony registered the new model of move like over a year ago... well, bam, there it is.

Abash3242d ago

It's much needed for Morpheus, I wasn't too excited about using two of the old PS Move controllers for it. These look much better

Lord_Sloth3242d ago

Morpheus, Move, Omni, and a sword game with the gladiator mechanics would be glorious!

gaffyh3242d ago

Looks pretty fake at the moment. Just w render, brand new printed booklet, spelling issues e.g it says ...specifications subjects to change. Should be subject to change. Stuff like this IMO proves it is fake, there may be an updated controller, but I doubt it looks like this. How do you move in a game? Seems really stupid if you think about it that way.

Army_of_Darkness3242d ago

The ps3 move controllers better be compatible still if this is true cause I still have 2 ready for use, plus a navigation controller.

CYCLEGAMER3242d ago

These and the camera better come packaged withe the morpheus, or this is gonna be very expensive for my wallet.

Dir_en_grey3242d ago

I really hope this is fake, because I want more buttons not less on the Move controller.

They should just add a analog stick to the original move and R2 so they wouldn't have to keep coming out w/ different skus.

Free camera still needs a accurate means of movement, it'll make the games way better. Don't limit the options and regret it later...

Make this right from the get go Sony.

Azmatik3242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

Fake

Thatguy-3103242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

This could be a really early prototype. I'm hoping they're smart enough to know that they need an analog. Anyone remember that concept image of a control that would break in half. This seems like it.

rainslacker3242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

I would say fake just from the name alone. PS RealEyes is a really stupid name. I never thought Morpheus would be the final name, but Sony is more creative than RealEyes.

On top of that, if the name was even up for consideration, it would have been up for consideration months ago, and Sony would have secured the domain at that time regardless of if they would have used it. They wouldn't have waited a couple days before they reveal the device. It would also be trademarked by now, even if under trade secrets, and no TM has been filed by Sony for Morpheus beyond Morpheus itself.

Even more so, this just doesn't look like something Sony designed. Sure, the player won't see it when wearing the headset, but they'll see it in advertising, the stores, and on next to their PS4 at home. Sony has better designs than this, and if anything, they'd probably try to make something that compliments the Morpheus. This just looks like some quick throw together from Maya.

There is also no reason to remove buttons for the sake of the gamer. People become accustomed to where buttons are, and limiting input functionality for the future is just silly. Buttons should be natural to the touch. Any number of buttons are fine, so long as they can be pressed instinctively.

And the most obvious reason it's fake...no analog stick. How exactly are you supposed to move around in all these virtual worlds? Fling the controller forward with your hands? Walk forward? Doesn't make much sense for the home environment.

Eonjay3242d ago

Good point. The revamped one they showed had a thumbstick. This may be fake.

SmielmaN3242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

I'm sure there is a mechanic for movement/aiming. They aren't that dumb. This is really huge and shows what types of control you will have is the VR space. Hands apart, not bound together by the controller so you will actually be looking around freely and moving your hands freely in the world. Imagine the MP celebrations after owning someone online! WooT!😆

Edit: just a thought! VR Hockey, football, or baseball!!!!! Omg! OMFG!!!!!! That is what I want now. Make this happen!!!!

rezzah3241d ago

It's written worse than one of those 419 Nigerian scam emails.

Yeah, the Attorney for the former King Mufasa, would like to deposit twenty million spacebucks into your checking account for a short period of time and he will pay you with five Morpheus (RealEyes) VR head units and the all new Move controllers.

The word "leaked" is nothing but Yellow Journalism (look that up!)

Nothing in journalism is leaked anymore... If ever really was. It's just a catch phrase to hook naive readers so pathetic websites can get hits and revenue.

Don't be a naive tool to their lame webmasters' wealth!

BallsEye3241d ago (Edited 3241d ago )

whyyyy??!? Move sucks balls....I call it now, morpheus and move will be just a gimmick simply because you'd need 4x times stronger console than it is now to run current gen games in such tech. Sony just wants to suck last Yen out of their fans.

NerdStalker3241d ago

Your so deluded if you think Sony gonna release such a expensive device which won't support any of it's games. do you realize how stupid you sound Ballseye and desperate?

TheCommentator3241d ago

They'll release with support, sure, and then it will fail because it's an add on accessory. Desperate is believing that an add on will be successful, lol.

BTW, OR and Hololens aren't just for consoles and will sell much better too since they aren't just for entertainment either.

NerdStalker3241d ago

LOL yea we all know how that add on Kinnect worked out!

TheCommentator3240d ago

So you do understand my point. You just can't get past the fanboy to see it will happen to Morpheus too. At least OR and Hololens will work on more than just a console, so like Kinect they will still sell in spite of their inevetable console failures.

Welp....here comes the leaks.

Makes sense to see this though

ChrisW3241d ago

Exactly!

"Leaks" are nothing but Yellow Journalism. Sensational news to idiots, annoying over-exaggerations to intelligent people.

Snookies123242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

Hmm, after seeing this... I think I'll stay away from gaming sites until after the conference. I feel like a big surprise was just blown.

Eonjay3242d ago

Not really. As I stated earlier, this design was known for a Very Very long lime. Well before last E3 even.

Snookies123242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

I still didn't expect it to be at their E3 conference, and I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't have either. So, it did spoil something that would have been a cool reveal.

SweatyFlorida3242d ago

Well I don't think showing the controller would even be considered some "big surprise". I think the real surprise is how they will demo it and how it functions with Morphues, which still could be an awesome showing if they designed it right.

Rimeskeem3242d ago

dafegamer3242d ago

this is essential for accurate and immersive VR gaming

LAWSON723242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

Careful this is PS, so it will be awesome according to this site. Personally I'd rather see games that will use my controller and push boundaries with the new hardware, not Morpheus and especially this.

@below

Not a fanboy, I love my PS3 and have a PS4 on pre-order for Bloodborne, Uncharted and P5. I just don't give a crap about motion when I am gaming. I want to sit on my ass and relax

dafegamer3242d ago

dont get blinded by your fanboy bias. Its essential because you need to be accurate to be immersed in VR. This is a method that should be essential for VR. It shouldn't be compared to average motion gaming

stuna13242d ago

How is this just regarding PS!? It's been well know for years that Sony has the most accurate motion controller out! Now with this information the logical conclusion is that a revamped version of of the move controller will be even better.

There always has to be someone slinging mud for no apparent reason other than to be heard!

Baka-akaB3242d ago

Everyone adding a VR headset to their array of machine will have a controller like that on top of the pad . We've seen it with Occulus and their haptic controller

comebackkid98913242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

Guess I won't be getting Morpheus *sigh* Don't get me wrong it looks sleek as hell, but I hate motion controls.

Antifan3242d ago

Exactly. The controller will always be superior to motion gimmicks.

joeorc3241d ago

Not if the game is to mimic a sword fight, and shield game pad gaming is the standard way to play games but in VR, for Emerson a Move type controller that mimics the position of a sword hilt is over all better for being able to mimic the experience in a VR environment, not a game pad.

That does not mean Game pad cannot be preferred, it just may mean depending on the game design certain control methods are better designed for certain games.

someOnecalled3242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

It was going to happen ORift devs stated plenty of time they are looking into a controller for ORift, so its only natural that sony do what they always do and that's pull a me 2 .

Don't worry the next version they will make it look and work exactly like ORift controller

rainslacker3242d ago (Edited 3242d ago )

It's pulling a me 2 to provide the most logical form of control for a VR experience? Are there people that really expected the standard controller to keep it's place within a VR game? If you're going to do that, why not just wear a HMD and not bother with the added expense of head tracking?

Go look up any VR that's actually been out. It's almost always hands free of a controller, with motion trackers to register player inputs. That's just part of VR.

joeorc3241d ago

Why yes Sony pulled a me 2 on a wireless control method for VR environments that Dr. Richard marks shows off in 2003, yeah..they sure got out their copy machine/s

Ironic don't you think well before Oculus Rift was even in the media Sony was showing a wireless control method for working with a external camera far back as SIGGRAPH 2000 well before even Nintendo got the sales pitch in 2001 for a wireless control method for the next Nintendo system.

Funny how in SIGGRAPH 2003 and 2004 Sony was showing 3d depth sensing camera technology working with the playstation 2, that Microsoft loved so much from prime sense they just had to pay for it..

Yuppers that's exactly what Sony does. Purchase tons of xerox machines and just copy everyone's ideas.

Lmao

Profchaos37d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
