The Elder Scrolls Online Is Buggy As Hell… But I Still Love It

IM PLAYIN discuss the launch problems of The Elder Scrolls Online, but how they don't seem to mind.

"I’ve been waiting for this game for some time now… well, for it to hit the current-gen consoles at least. I’m a massive Elder Scrolls fan, and whilst I’ve never really been a big MMORPGer, I’ve always wanted to get into the genre. So, for me, ESO was the perfect opportunity. I woke up especially early this morning to play a little of the game before I went to work. I instantly fell in love, and it’s been on my mind for pretty much the entire day. Sure, it was a little laggy at times, but I really didn’t care."

Sounds like pretty serious issues with the One version. Anyone know if the PS4 version is stable?

I just got my codes through for both versions (cheaps with the PC account transfer deal), and need to decide which one is worth downloading!

I haven't had nearly any issues on PS4. Then again, I transferred my PC character so I haven't done a lot of quest considering I'm VR12 to see if any of its bugged.

I was in a party with a few people on PS4 that were having standard launch day MMO issues like logging in. Other than that though, no where near as buggy as when the PC version launched. Boy was that a mess for the first month.

I know they're different but I wanna buy only one game: Witcher 3 or Elder Scrolls Online.

Which one do I buy?

@ava

Simple answer MMO or SP story driven RPG, your choice no one elses.

Can't speak for everyone but after work I got in after 2 failed attempts and haven't gotten kicked out or anything since on the PS4 version. Only thing I noticed is there is a little bit of lag in some of the dense city areas with a lot of players running around at the same time, but once you start doing quests and exploring, the lag goes away. I'm actually surprised how well this seems to be running for a day-one MMO on a console.

Other than log in issues, this is my experience exactly!

no issues on ps4... played it alllll day, got to lvl 9... did hella quests.. messed about... nothing but good times ;)

Curiously the PS4 download is also 15GB smaller than the XBox One download. Seems that is the one to try first at least.

I bought both versions with the PC transfer because I couldn't get a straight answer on where my friends were likely to play, and it was cheaper than having to buy the full version later. Turns out they split straight down the middle, so I might even end up playing both versions. At least until I find out DLC and/or subscriptions would need to be duplicated too I suppose. Hmm.

Anyone else notice how he says "buggy as hell" but only mentioned one bug? I think he needs to go play an actually buggy game... ACU at launch, skyrim PS3 at launch etc etc...

I've already put around 10 hours into the PS4 version (was able to start playing Monday night around 9), and the ONLY thing I've seen so far is sputtering lag in towns when there's a crap ton of people. Other than that the game works great. No issues at all. MUCH more stable than its PC launch. (I transfered over from PC).

I've been fighting the servers all day... keep getting kicked and when I'm not getting kicked I'm fighting some crazy lag.. but, yeah.... I still love it.. can't wait til it's fixed up.
