I can look and read to my hearts content. I am 99.9% sure I will never play this game. I tried some Metal Gear game before and have never completed one. So I would have to be lured by something in this dump to get me to reconsider.

Don't worry though, I would keep what I read to myself. I have no desire to ruin the game for others. That's just not who I am.

this list actually makes me somewhat disappointed.... Maybe disappointed isn't the right word, rather upset. The reason being is because of these two points:

“The marathon cutscenes for which Kojima’s most famous? Hold onto something: they’ve almost gone. There are some cutscenes, yes, but don’t expect to be able to settle down with a bucket of popcorn and give the pad a rest for an hour or two at a time. […] key missions will bring some plot, but really the vast majority of The Phantom Pain’s exposition lives in the cassette tapes you unlock after every major story beat, which contain plenty of information about past events and unseen goings-on at Mother Base.”

and..

Pre-mission deployment (only available from Mother Base?) opens up with you choosing a loadout: two primary weapons, one secondary, bionic arm type, tools (grenades, C4, etc.), items (cardboard boxes, Phantom Cigar, etc.), vehicle, deployment time, buddy, and playable character (similar to Peace Walker, you can play as soldiers, like Dire Crocodile or Growling Eel).

I wouldn't want to hear the cassettes in order to get more from the story. I would much rather watch a cutscene. This makes me nervous in some ways because I feel as if you won't be able to experience the amazing story as its told through cutscenes the same way with audio recordings.

Also I know this is following the events of PW, however I personally ( and I know I am in the minority here) did not enjoy PW as much as the previous MG games. In fact, I thought peace walker was the weakest of the series. Knowing that I have to pick and choose my weapon set like how it was in peacwalker makes me worried. I know PW was probably held back by the capabilities of the PSP, so I'm hoping they go into huge amounts of detail and depth with this type of system in PP

That's what I was thinking, so instead of having a long cutscene he decided to take all that info and dump it into a cassette you need to listen to

I would have rather taken the long cutscene to be honest.

I hate when games add things to the story but they are in info logs or recordings you need to go to the menu and listen to.

The first part is literally the best news about the game that I've heard yet. It feels like with the last MGS, Kojima is finally figuring out how to properly conduct stories in games, no longer by separating it into pieces and featuring unrelated short films in the gaps. This is an approach that sounds just like Bioshock which is amazing! I can not fathom why someone would want cutscenes over this.

Yeah, Peace Walker was the only MGS I didn't enjoy as well but I blame the handheld-limitations and not Kojima for it. Also extensive cutscenes are a part of MGS, I don't want to listen to audio cassettes all the time...

I mean it's MGS but I'm worried that when I play it won't feel like I'm playing MGS.

It seems to me that MGS5 is just a sniper elite 3 clone maybe with a better story and online component

Wow dude you sure know how to overreact for no reason. From the beginning Kojima has said there wasn't going to be long cutscenes. His exact words were "long cut scenes are a thing of the past" he said that back in 2013.

Im certain that MGSV is going to be the magnus opus of series from Kojima and his team!Im so glad they finally focus more on the gameplay rather than in cutscenes but without neglecting the story still.

Loved the idea of bringing animals back to Mother Base, but the opportunity of bringing back a 'Bear'......yes. Diamond dog got an eye patch, (and a vest??) I want my bear to have stealth camo body armour, and a back mounted rail gun.
I am a little dissapointed about lack of cut scenes, but I liked the cassette tapes in PW, the sounds which accompanied the voice acting set the mood nicely. (I found Kaz's constant chatter over the com's in GZ annoying but it was a demo)
Still cannot believe that this cross gen/cross platform title is actually setting benchmarks for the PS4/XB1. Great that users of old hardware are still getting the opportunity to experience this. I bought a PS3 the night it launched, but PS4 hasn't had a game that I must play. PS3 still has GT6, and this, but I might just get a PS4 for MGSV
Remember the first trailer for MGS3, and that game not meeting what was hinted at in the trailer!!! - although it was still a defining game of its era, and I'm playing it again in HD collection, not hating on it, one of my favourites. And remember the dynamic battlefield promised for MGS4, and instead we got completely incidental interaction with NPCs (a thumbs up from an NPC didn't add up). Although worst entry of the series it was probably still in my top 3 of PS3 titles. Well, those targets that they failed to meet due to hardware issues both gens are certainly being met now.

I am very Impressed with the drawing of the horses in this game very well drawn and would say better than red dead redemption, I ride and teach in the equine industry and over the years of gaming the improved in copying movements and anatomy of are equine friends has improved so much well done kojima
