Is multiplayer really what makes Uncharted what it its today or its SP story and game-play?

Does it make sense to 'revive' previous Uncharted games multiplayer scene and risk detract potential players from U4's multiplayer a few months later?

Is it ok they did not include multiplayer for this collection? Maybe not, but its not a bad thing either since even Naughty Dog sees this series as primarily SP since they added multi in U2 after much criticism form the lack of in U1.

Is this collection a good way for first timers to experience this great series? Well yes.

What a shame. I was dead set of buying this collection day one as I love the Uncharted 2 MP on PS3. Now, I'll wait for the used gamefly sales a few months after release.

The Halo MCC is still the ultimate collection and the gold standard of how a collection is made. Was hoping this Nathan Drake Collectuon can surpass it with MP and maybe a golden Abyss also but now it is just another HD cash grab from Sony . I mean this is like the third HD remake in the 1.5 years of the PS4 existence and they somehow have MP on TLOU HD and somehow gimped the Uncharted collection? Don't make any sense to me.

I kind of agree with Crimzon here. MS really set the bar high for a remaster with Halo:MCC. It had all four games of Halo 1 through 4, and included the multiplayer. Granted it got botched in the beginning, but it was certainly a fine attempt and they mostly corrected it by now and adding free content.

With Uncharted collection it is 3 games, stripped down without multiplayer and Naughty Dog wants $60! WTF? :(

I love remasters, but this is a money grab with half content.

Lol, lackluster? I've owned an X1 since October and only ever owned two games and one of them was free, the other has already been traded in, nothing has even caught my eye since, now that's lackluster in my book, but of course it's all subjective to which side of the fence you sit isn't it.

As for the Uncharted series, it's always been more of a single player experience than multiplayer, a story driven narrative. The collection will sell well, there is no doubt in that.

I think the problem here is that Uncharted games are always big in size
Uncharted 1 was 22GB
Uncharted 2 is 25GB
Uncharted 3 is 45GB

So that might be the problem as why they had to take out the MP

They may have skipped MP because A) They were file size wary or B) because of the lack of having to maintain the MP servers. I don't know. But I can say that the MP for me was nice, but not ever why I bought those games.

I Platinumed all of these and ND never forced MP onto storyline players which was nice, unlike other games to get the Plat you have to reach like level 50 in MP. I hope ND does the same with UC4 and not force MP.

It did, but they could be emulated through the touchpad. Some recoding would have to be done to accommodate for the back pad, but I think it was actually only used once near the beginning as a joke. The vita stuff was mostly better using the regular controls where it had that option. Only the picture rubbings were used frequently, and those could be done with the control stick or touch pad.

Summer beta came - We put down our criticism - Subway beta came - ND decides to change the stuff we didn't complain about and keep most of the stuff we told them to change

The game came out and Uncharted 2 players complained about how different it was. The White Knights and even NaughtyDog told us how their was Hardcore mode.

It came out and we played hardcore mode only to find out to our horror that hardcore mode was NOTHING LIKE Uncharted 2s multiplayer.

We complained again on the boards. I remember someone at ND saying

"Oh...I thought you guys liked Hardcore mode, that's what it's their for. Don't you like it"

We laughed and told him "hell no" basically. After this they changed Hardcore Mode into Classic Mode.

The sad thing is despite being better then Hardcore mode, it wasn't the same. Some things they had in the normal mode still made it into this apparent "classic mode" and overall it just wasn't the same.

Which leads us to why people were hoping the multiplayer in the Collection would give us our Uncharted 2 multiplayer.

It's become apparent after Uncharted 3, you can't please both audiences.

Since Uncharted 2 players were their first I think it's only fair they should pick the online structure in Uncharted 2 and ditch the Uncharted 3 one. Is that going to happen though....hell no, they wouldn't do that. They'd rather continue it and I bet you my life savings they'll do what they did with Uncharted 3. They'll say...

"Uncharted 4 caters to both audiences"

Halo collection has been fixed for a while now, and just the fact they included 4 multiplayer games plus a halo 2 remastered multiplayer was amazing. Nothing will beat that in value and fan service regardless of the launch issues.

yeah I played the multiplayer for uncharted 2 and 3 and they were awesome. Naughty dog usually has great multiplayer. TLoU had some of the most brutal and addictive multiplayer of last gen. I am so surprised they are not including this.

Does anyone know if they are really updating the graphics or just making it 60fps and 1080p? I hope they actually increase the visuals and not just give you ports of single player games. Not as much value as I was hoping for

I think it's fair to say that the majority of people that buy UC probably do so for the SP. The MP was a nice addition in UC2/3, and it kept people playing longer.

Access to UC4 MP beta is great but what about the people who loved the already released, balanced and fun MP of UC2 and UC3? Nothing for them I guess.

It's a collection of 3 games. It's not a complete collection of the original 3 games with all the content that came with them, but it's still a collection.

If you don't like it, lodge a complaint on Sony's forums and move on, or start up a change.org petition. If you want a collection with the SP and MP campaigns, then go play Halo:MCC, or just play the originals, the MP is still free on the Sony store if you kept your PS3.

In the mean time, stop trying to downplay everything Sony. People are excited for this, and most of the people in this thread gave up their credibility for criticism long ago with their constant downplaying of Sony, their games, and their business practices.

Ok it doesn't have multiplayer. For those complaining just play it on your PS3 if you want it that bad. It comes with the freakin beta for UC4 MULTIPLAYER. We've known that UC4 has been delayed until spring for awhile. So you know you had to wait at least until then for your Uncharted fix.

I rather them focus on making UC4 multiplayer as good as possible. Yes, even though ND is not making this remaster. Why waste resources and money on multiplayer when you have the new game coming out in less than six months time.

Yes, they did it for MCC but we will have a year between releases and Halo is known more for its multiplayer. Or at least more popular anyways. Not to offend anybody but its true. Even if you like the game or not. Fanboy goggles off.

So if you don't like it then don't buy it. Most of the people complaining are the ones that have already played the games. The people who haven't are excited. If you think its too expensive then wait a month. The holidays will be right around the corner and you should be able to pick it up cheap or cheaper at least.

In my opinion, which this post is, we are getting 3 games that has some of the best singleplayer experiences I've played in video games. TO ME ITS WORTH IT. Hmm... curious choice considering how well liked Uncharted's MP was. Two thoughts:

1) I wonder if they feared a situation similar to what happened with MCC and decided the risk of trying to pull in all the MP was too much?

2) Maybe this collection was spurred by the realization UC4 was getting delayed so they needed something to fill the holiday gap? Pulling all 3 single player portions of the games is definitely easier than trying to include the MP and time wise maybe that was all they thought they could get done by Holiday?

i think integrating 2 different MP games would have been a lot more work. Even if they made it a cohesive singular entity, like Halo:MCC, it would have all sorts of balancing issues.

I believe the ultimate reason they decided not to do it is financial costs to rework the MP on the PS4, the fact that Sony probably doesn't want to support UC2/3 MP for who knows how long, and that most people buy the game for the SP anyways. I seriously don't know anyone who brought the game for MP, but know several people who enjoyed having it there.

Sony still haven't got enougth server power to run driveclub ps+ edition, it's a huge shame but being realistic it's expected as this collection is going to sell really well and sony wouldn't be able to keep up with that type of huge demand of running that many online games. Just the fact that you guys are trying to spin it not having the MP into a good thing is just astounding to me. Sure people will say that Uncharted is a single player focused game and the mp wasn't that big of a deal. I understand those points but the mp is still part of the original product and I'd expect that to come with the collection. First things 1st is drakes fortune did not have Multiplayer any way. The fact they have a MP mode of a Beta for UC 4 included is MP for uncharted anyway.

Again porting uncharted 2 and 3 Mp when many gamers already state MP for uncharted 3 sucks vs MP for uncharted 2 , kinda shows you would really need only a unified uncharted MP mode going forward anyway thus on the ps4 that is Uncharted 4 not the multiplayer that was on the PS3.

I got uncharted 2 and played it through 5 times and didn't even know the Mp was good until a friend told me to check it out. Then with Uc3 i played the Mp but that was after i beat the game 4 times so my point is yes I'm a little bit disappointed the collection doesn't include the Mp but that doesn't mean I'm not getting it like I'm seeing some people say. And to add to that, Uc4's mp beta is included.

Uncharted was never about multiplayer, it was only ever a little side decoration. Its campaign mode is what made this franchise so amazing so it not being included in the collection changes nothing to its mass appeal. The fact is that ND would have analysed the figures and determined that the remastering of the MP would not have been a worthwhile effort financially in relation to the amount of people who would play online.

I would rather the money and effort is spent in making the important part of the games as dazzling as possible, namely, the single player campaign.

Of course there will be fans of the MP who will be disappointed but my personal experiences with friends and colleagues is that the single player experience is why the buy Uncharted games and would be willing to bet that ND have the facts to back that up.

Personally, I could care less about MP and am very happy that the developers are focusing on SP for this collection. For those of you who must have MP included in every game you purchase - you have plenty of options out there. For those of you who think it's a rip off that MP isn't being included in this collection - you're still getting 3 remastered single campaigns and access to the UC4 beta (which includes MP) for the price of one game. What's so bad about that? Lastly, if the MP mode in UC is so important to you, then don't buy this remastered collection. Instead, spend your money on the many games coming out this year that will give you your MP fix.

It seems to me that the trend over the past decade has been to include MP even in franchises like Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Assassins Creed that started out as SP focused games. Not every game need have a MP mode just as not every game need have a SP mode.

I find a great franchise should have both. MP brings friends together with the franchise and adds replay value. Not having it makes me questioning a purchase. I love SP games but MP really is icing on the cake.

My biggist gripe is the fact these games have already a built in MP mode. Why not just remaster them? This makes the PS3 versions stand out over this collection because they offer all the content and features at a cheaper price.

There is no reason not to include them, only thing I can think of is they dont know how to implement all the MP content with one version as we have seen with MCC it isn't easy.

To me that is just ridiculous, I don't have sales data or hard evidence to prove but I am certain that the largest consumers of GOTY and HD/reduxes are bona-fide fans of the gaming series in question. Certainly in my case, I've always sought the limited/definitive/HD editions of games I've loved playing.

MCC collection now has 5 full games in one and has loads of content and remastered everything. If you never played these game before (may of owned only a PC and/or Xbox/Wii last gen) then yes I personally think this is a essential buy.

If you have played these games before. Then no it is not. However I have played and completed all 3 and got the platinum trophy for all 3. I will be buying this collection. As the thought of re-playing 3 all ready impressive looking games but in 1080p and 60FPS is a instant buy for me.

I honestly don't see why Golden Abyss was not included since it is a Nathan Drake game after all. But maybe they will release it as a download in the future just like Master Chief Collection did recently with Halo ODST.
