Destiny: PlayStation Exclusive Content Trailer | PS4, PS3

Sony writes on youtube:
Get more co-op Strikes, PVP multiplayer maps, and Exotic gear across Destiny and its expansions with PlayStation®

xHeavYx3267d ago

Wonder why they bother with a video like this, unless they want people's attention for an E3 announcement?

Crimzon3266d ago

Apparently Bungie will be announcing a new expansion for Destiny at E3 called The Taken King. I assume Sony has more exclusive DLC content for that like they did with Dark Below and House of Wolves.

Father__Merrin3266d ago

im sorry no matter how much i prefer playstation over xbox etx i can never agree to deals like this

Rookie_Monster3266d ago

At this point, who cares. Once Halo 5 and Fallout 4 drops, this game will be forgotten in gaming history.

CorndogBurglar3266d ago (Edited 3266d ago )

People have been saying this since the game released lol.

"Give it a month or two and it will be dead", "wait until this game comes out, then it will be dead".

Yet here we are, closing in on a year and a lot of people are still playing it. Don't believe me? Anything that has matchmaking only takes seconds to find a partner, and crucible matches are always totally full.

So yeah, haters can say what they want, but Destiny is here to stay. My suggestion is to stop putting so much effort into hating it. You can dislike it all want, but it isn't going to change anything.

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3266d ago

Preach!!!

Not gonna lie I put the game down after a month though lol.

Not much chance of me hopping back in seeing as how I would most certainly get destroyed online thanks to all the uptdates I've missed. But I'm glad the game is still thriving. Bungie are some cool dudes.

spacedelete3266d ago

this is what i don't understand. Destiny is lacking in content and thats with the expansions. what exactly are people doing in this game ?

remixx1163266d ago

Exactly quit crying about it....people were saying the same thing when HMCC launched.

Halo is about to release so destiny will be forgotten.....just stop, you want the game dead yet it will persist.

JWiLL5523266d ago

Right...every PS4 gamer is going to sell their system to go get a Halo game made by 343. Seems like a smart move.

Fallout doesn't scratch the same gamer itch as Destiny. Not even sure what that's about.

OUROSMAG3266d ago

Word? cause I care about neither of those games, I am however excited for The taken king.

I have to agree. Once you burn out on existing content (much harder to do now with expansions), take a break...play something else (witcher).

But every time dlc hits i get sucked back in and I'm captivated for months.

PvP is big part of the fun though for me. Co-op arena is hella fun too.

JWiLL5523266d ago

Yeah. I've more than gotten my money's worth from Destiny, despite not having a ton of content.

I've probably put about 150 hours into the PVP since launch. Worth it for that alone.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter350d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood350d ago (Edited 350d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell349d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig349d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast349d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g349d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka349d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai500d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface499d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard497d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
