Any of you old enough to remember Double Dragon?

Minute Man 7213287d ago

Yes, loved this game on the NES. I have the original arcade version on my 360

bouzebbal3287d ago

the last remaster was terrible and really didnt do the originals justice.
I remember playing DD on Master System. I felt in love of BTAs since.

IrishSt0ner3287d ago

Never played this obvious street figher clone.

I had actual Double Dragon series on the C64, the one in which the movie was based off.

Me and my cousin would pile 20p's into the arcade machine at our local chip shop, i remember spending the whole summer holiday in there. Great times.

spicelicka3287d ago

Yes! even though I was only like 4 when it came out.

Lighter93287d ago

I remember Double Dragon. Do you remember Double Dribble?

Minute Man 7213286d ago

@Lighter, it's the first basketball game I've ever played. I was amazed at the cut scene graphics at the time LOL

Moldiver3287d ago (Edited 3287d ago )

Yup! I had the first two games on my NES back in the late 80s. I was about 6 years old! lol

@Lighter9

I remeber double dribble...do you remember midnight resistance, rastan saga..or...*drum roll* bad dudes vs dragon ninja!

I remember when we all judged a games graphics by how big and beefy the sprites were. I remember arcade machines with a ciggy ashtray for the older kids! lol

Lighter93287d ago

Bad Dudes. Can't say I've heard of the others. :)

Moldiver3286d ago

@Lighter9

Man you missed out! midnight resistance was the shit back in the day. eventually got it for megadrive, but I had to play it a the local arcades for sometime before that happened.

the closest thing to rastan on current machines is volgar the viking. side scrolling slash em up with beefy sprites and sound fx (at the time) rastan is better than volgar though.

deathtok3287d ago

Double Dragon 1 arcade is my favourite. It consumed a lot of my parents' money! Both Pounds and Francs.

'Accidental' friendly fire on my brother was always on the menu too!

Vanfernal722d ago

Being at my local pizzeria while the Double Dragon main theme played in the background is one of my fondest childhood memories.

When I was a kid every weekend after finishing pain in the ass school. I would always rent DD for the SMS always wished my SMS when I was a kid had the FM sound mod to it DD on SMS with the FM I like. I own DD on SMS now bought it dirt cheap in a game lot and I still love playing it. I wish my parents also bought me a NES when I was a kid so I could have enjoyed the other DD games. I played the DD fighting game on the SNES what a complete mess that game is good thing I rented it. Battletoads and DD was a decent game I enjoyed it on my SNES I have never played DD 2 or DD3 on the NES but they look interesting.

CosmicTurtle722d ago

2 plays better on the NES than in the arcade.
