Square Enix's new MOBA, Lord of Vermilion Arena has began its open beta testing in Japan.
Dissidia Final Fantasy is a good start, but there's lots more Japan-only arcade games that we'd love to see brought to the West.
I love Taiko no Tatsujin. Really hoping it comes to the West, but if it does, they need to also bring over a good quality drum so we can fully enjoy it.
Perhaps I'd be better off importing an arcade machine.
"While it’s pretty much unknown in the West, Lord of Vermilion is another one of Square Enix’s strong series. The arcade game uses collectable cards similar to Sega’s Sangokushi Taisen, but instead of warlords you summon fantasy monsters and occasionally crossover characters. The series has guests from Persona, BlazBlue, The King of Fighters, Touhou, and even Final Fantasy.
Lord of Vermillion is being spun off into a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game called Lord of Vermilion Arena for PC. This game has 7 vs. 7 fights where players and enemies can summon monsters. Maps also have fodder monsters for players to defeat so they can level up. Players will be able to create a deck with monsters to summon with five tribes including beasts, demon kind, and the undead. Avatars are also customizable with different weapons and armor. "
Square Enix has announced a new entry in its long-running series, Lord of Vermillion.
