Futurama the Great Unlicensed Adventure Awaits

Carl Williams writes, "Futurama is one of those cartoons for adults that was not quite as offensive as Family Guy but was not as family entertaining as The Simpsons. It is also one of the least ported to gaming cartoons that we have seen (it did get a PS2 or Xbox 3D action adventure but that is it). For some reason the rich world of Futurama has not been ripe with videogame adaptations/interpretations. Developers could, almost, literally write whatever wild loosely science fiction related story they wanted and it would probably work in the world of Futurama. Now, a couple of new, unlicensed, adventure titles are in the works- both of which look rather interesting."

Reminds me of Day to the Tentacle.

KryptoniteTail3303d ago

I can see an RPG working like South Park SoT.

KeplerNoMore3303d ago

Doubt that the original cast would come back to voice it, South Park had the original voices and setting, while still being developed, Futurama was terminated because of low ratings.

WeAreLegion3303d ago

Most of the Futurama cast works in games, anyway. I'm sure Matt could get them all together on a game.

Confused3303d ago

We need a Futurama game like The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Nate-Dog3303d ago

The PS2 game was pretty poor, only Leela's gameplay felt fun to me and even then all of the sections were quite drab and annoying. Futurama has gone the way of The Simpsons unfortunately, but at least we can pretend the new episodes after the Devil's Hands' episode never existed and that that was the real ending.

I agree they should have stopped milking the cow back when it died/a natural death at the end of season 4. The milk it produces now leaves a decidedly sour taste in one's mouth.

Though the quality wasn't as consistent in the relaunched movies and series, it wasn't without any highlights and therefore am very glad that it kept going. The final episode, the mortal defect episode, the one where they keep traveling further into the future, and a few others were definitely up there as some of the best the show ever produced.

What are you talking about? It was great until the end. If anything it was better then it started. Especially the first movie.

Futurama Recreated in Fallout 4

Vpdaily:

YouTuber UpIsNotJump created a mashup of Futurama meets Fallout 4.  The short contains many fan favorite scenes from Futurama remade with Nexus Mods and Bethesda.net. These are some of the best moments focusing on Fry, Leela, Bender, Zoidburg and Professor Farnsworth.

Alduin2841d ago

This was great. I wish they'd bring the show back. One of my absolute favorites.

There Can Be No Peace Until These 10 Franchises Get a Telltale Game

We've seen Game of Thrones and Borderlands get the Telltale treatment. So here are 10 other franchises we'd love Telltale to turn into episodic series.

I wouldn't want Rick and Morty to get a silly point and click game. I want to control the characters and use the portal gun along with Ricks other whacky inventions.

Hell some episodes concepts like the space parasite one where they are all locked up in the house with silly characters would be great used in a game.

Third person platforming game with shooting elements.

PeaSFor3054d ago (Edited 3054d ago )

As long im able to show them what i got and getting schwifty in there..

"There Can Be No Peace Until These 10 Franchises Get a Telltale Game"

^ Really Twinfinite ?

What a bunch of sensationalist garbage.

Gazondaily3054d ago

I think you're taking the title a little too seriously mate.

Gazondaily3054d ago

Rick and Morty as a platformer would be cool.

Or third person action adventure.

Thom94343054d ago

Band of Brothers is actually a really good call.

Kalebninja3054d ago

Rick and Morty would be perfect as either a telltale game or an RPG.

Player3Podcast3054d ago

Honestly, I'm a bit burnt out on TellTale. But a military game would be an interesting spin on something that has been done a lot in other genres.

uth113054d ago

I want a Doctor Who and Scooby Doo tale tell series. And more Sam and Max
