PlayStation Plus vs. Games with Gold Comparison

How much value do you get out of your game service subscriptions?

ThanatosDMC3306d ago

PS+ wins because more consoles get the benefit, if based on value alone.

Takwin3306d ago

I love at least one game a month, and usually like 1-2 more between the PS4 and PS3.

This might be the last year for the PS3 on PS+ but I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts.

MRMagoo1233306d ago

Yeh ps+ is def the best when it comes to the free games.

Army_of_Darkness3306d ago

I honestly think of ps+ monthly free games as a bonus more than anything... What amazes me the most that I look forward too are the ps+ weekend flash deals! :-D outstanding prices for average too excellent games.

ic3fir33306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Yes, the plus has had better games, but I paid 30€ per year of xbox live gold, and plus paid 50€

3 years of live gold €90
3 years of psn plus €150

spare €60 in three years, and have equal monthly free games, and weekly discounts also.

Transporter473306d ago

In the U.S. both retail at:
Ps+ = 49.99
XBL = 59.99

You can of course get both for 30 dollars if you pay attention for deals. Your argument is invalid.

ic3fir33306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

deals? is all the time, is fixed price, I buy €32 1year gold to during 7Years and i never paid more

rdgneoz33306d ago

Yep, with deals you can generally get either one for $30 to $40. Black Friday is always a nice time for discounts on them.

DemonChicken3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Your either trolling or not very good at things that come to your wallet.

Why would you buy one thing cheaper than the other? And yes you do not have to get PS+ at full price, as with XBL there are places that sell PS+ at a discounted price.

I can get GWG for £25 a year, I always have to pay full price for PS

edit*

I mean buying with codes of course.

Trekster_Gamer3306d ago

I have the games for the most part. It's the superior service Xbox Gold delivers.

There really is no comparison as evident by the link above, Microsoft is halfassing this program and only doing it so they can match a bullet point that plus offers.

S2Killinit3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

yup. Its not even close. Nothing against XBL but gotta give credit where it is due and PSN really does take the cake in value.

Corpser3306d ago

How many would subscribe if online mp doesn't requires them, yeah exactly

KiwiViper853306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

But online multiplayer isn't free anymore.

A better question would be, How many people would subscribe if there were no free games?

Answer: Everyone

aquamala3306d ago

the only platforms you need to pay to play online are 360,XB1, PS4. they are the exception, not the norm.

KiwiViper853306d ago

The topic is PS+ vs XboxLive.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3305d ago

I wouldn't pay for it if PS Plus didn't offer the games across 3 systems. The last game where I used multiplayer was Destiny and I haven't played it since November.

joeorc3305d ago

Not completely true, there is free. 2 Play games on the PS4 that has online free multiplayer, and there is free 2 play games also on the xbox one. So not completely true of "no free online Multiplayer gaming" yes it would . limit You to free 2 play games if you want multiplayer without require of a subscription, but there. Is some good free 2 play online multiplayer gaming for the ps4 right now. With no online sub required other than your cost in iSP costs.lol

UltraNova3305d ago

Same here, although I do play some co-op from here and there. Diablo can mess with your head...

Xbox 360 Turns 18: Three Cheers to Live, Halo, and Red Rings

The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.

darthv72177d ago

Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.

isarai177d ago

The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.

TheBrainZ177d ago

So many brilliant games. I still have one stored somewhere.

LG_Fox_Brazil177d ago

I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces

I remember when Live turned five and they had special edition controllers made and everything. Kind of wished they would do that again for the 20th.

Orchard548d ago

Happy Birthday. OG XBL (and later 360 XBL) really revolutionized online gaming on console.

Crows90548d ago

Never understood the obsession with live...but I was gaming online on PC so not sure too much of what live did that the PlayStation didn't.

Profchaos548d ago

I had a PS2 and it's online experience was fine but it didn't have the same level of polish voice chat never worked for me but I was trying to play from Australia where not many people played PS2 online to the point where many devs simply dropped the online mode from the pal version.
That's not all PS2 games mind you there were plenty that worked perfectly but it was more on the dev and not the platform

During that era I also played a fairly large amount on online PC games and they were undoubtedly better than both systems. PS2 from functionality and Xbox because it was free

Playing my friends original Xbox it was a really polished experience it felt robust yet simple things just worked there was zero config.

Crows90547d ago (Edited 547d ago )

Yeah but the time ps3 came the experience was the same on both based on what I played...not too much online though to be honest. But I do think that the xbox did help bring online into the console space a lot. As well as PC games to consoles.

Profchaos548d ago (Edited 548d ago )

Today would of been the perfect day to drop halo 2 the original bc version free on gwg.... If only
