E3 2008: NIS America Making a New PS3 Exclusive RPG

"He also mentioned that NIS' home branch in Japan was interested in using the Wii's motion capabilities in RPGs in the near future, but mentioned that the Sony family of platforms was still NIS' main focus. He continued on to say that NIS' next title for the PS3 will harness more of the power of the platform and shouldn't garner complaints that it looks like a PS2 game, like Disgaea 3 did."

Hope we get to see some details on this at TGS though. Anyone have any idea when playstation premiere is happening ? Last year, it was just 4 days after E3 and the amount of new games that were announced there were just mind blowing ( GT5:P, Valkyria and others)

I completely forgot about that. I thought after the Gamer Day this year, there wasn't anymore Sony based events. I wonder...if its still on what titles they kept in hiding?

I thought Gamersday was more of a EU event, E3 been a NA event and then finally, Playstation premiere been Japan event ?

EDIT: Interesting, the last paragraph on the page says a new RPG will be revealed before the end of this month (no platform announced) and another one will be announced September or October (TGS).

Dude, am amazed at the fact that Sony did not show any rpg's for PS3 (understandable since they might be saving some for TGS and also since this was more of a conference for NA than the rest of the world.) but yet have so many in development that we just don't know about.

I was hoping to at least see WKS.

Sorry to get all biblical there, but my PS3 has been starved of RPGs. As an RPG junkie, my 360 has been getting all the love and positive announcements lately. I'm actually very excited about NIS making an RPG. They are as traditional is it gets. Sure they add little innovations here and there, but nothing that breaks the mold - that's not an insult, it's what I like in a JRPG.

I hope it's something sprite based ala Odin Sphere, only in HD. As a few posters above mentioned, I'm excited for TGS. Hopefully, Sony unveils it's - exclusive - RPG hand there. I was disappointed in this years E3 (mostly shooters and such).

Meh, it should sell fine and pushing graphics is relative to how they want the game to look. If it's sprite based we could see much animation but hardly detail oriented in landscape/characterization. Lets hope it's a good JRPG!

The only problem is JRPGs don't sell that well. Japan is oversaturated with them.

Well, look like this fall my PS3 its going to be busy with RPG: Disgaea 3, Eternal Sonata, Valkyria Chronicles & Persona 4 (I know its a PS2 game but hey my 60GB model can run it just fine ^__^). The most unpleasing fact is that I'm going to be a little busy with college after August study are important kids don't forget that =P

God bless NIS for Disgaea 3 and beyond. The PS3 needs some RPG support, and a major publisher of them is focusing it's main attention on Sony. It's about time.
