Pillars of Eternity Video Review | RPG Site

Darren MacPhail brings us a new (very thorough) video review with a look at Obsidian's latest with Pillars of Eternity, an RPG that evokes the classics. And why not, considering the founders of the studio used to work at Black Isle Studios that helped create the Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment.

While elements such as the writing and level design are on point as always when it comes to the developer, there are a few things that newcomers should be aware of coming into this modern interpretation of a beloved period of time for Western RPG fans.

Note: there are spoilers found in the video due to this game's very nature as a story-driven adventure.

This game is truly a gem! Like Bravely Default, it rare to see a RPG release that follows lots of old school rules! This is very much an RPG for the old school.

Playing a lot right now on PC, so I'll likely check this out later this year.

Put this on the ps4, Noobs! God knows we need a new game on the ps4 and not some damn HD remake of a ps3 game, which is really a remake but a port.

End of line.

lol, it will likely have a PS4 port. PS4 and XONE both have lots of next gen only titles coming this year anyway, a long list of next gen only titles are coming out this year. Mind you....we have more titles coming that are next gen only titles then we've had ports....

Not sure what you mean by remake as no remake has been made this gen, they've been ports.

This wouldn't work on console. It isn't isn't even close to being designed for it. Look up the controls and you might understand.

Wasteland 2 is coming for the PS4 but not this. It's impossible on a control pad.

save yourself a click, the basis for this article says BG3 you basically follow the main plot with little ability to influence anything lol.....which its anything but that, so either he played it once through and didnt pay much attention or hasnt even played it at all....

Whatever, man. I’m just grateful Baldur’s Gate 3 is the game we got. Absolutely fantastic!
