LEGO Dimensions is the best thing to ever happen to gaming. Finally, a Lego set that plays in a game!

Orejillz3325d ago

Yeah, I'm super excited for this one.

Gamer19823325d ago

Just a shame its price point is ridiculously high.. I mean the other sets of these types of games are high anyway but £100 for the base game?? Parents are just going to say no and stick with the cheaper skylanders and disney infinity.

BC_Master_Haze3325d ago (Edited 3325d ago )

Dual purpose vs a little figurine, the argument speaks for itself.

Also fans of Lego associated franchises will be enticed, while Spyro fans like myself cringe at the sight of crackhead Spyro.

Off topic: really twinfinite? top 5 ____ article and you make it multiple pages... Typical. Didn't even read.

Metallox3325d ago

I don't see it as exciting, really. Just a LEGO game with NFC figures, hence a lot more expensive. So I think I'll pass, but the game must be as solid as other entries in the series.

Big_Game_Hunters3325d ago (Edited 3325d ago )

This is cool but when are they going to make a minecraft style lego game? How is there no lego build your own world game yet.

Orejillz3325d ago

Maybe this will have a mode that allows that, similar to Disney Infinity's toy box mode

uth113325d ago

This is exciting why exactly? You've been able to select different characters in lego games for years without plastic toys. Your existing lego won't work. You'll have to buy a bunch of figures for the game. This is nothing but a cash grab! These types of games end up costing far more than DLC in most games. Yet everybody gets upset about DLC practices, and nobody gets upset about this. I don't get it.

KiwiViper853325d ago

Because its a kids game. Lighten up.

Metallox3325d ago

A very expensive kids game. How's that still exciting?

KiwiViper853325d ago

I don't have kids old enough to game, but If I did, and they were into Videogames and Lego, Id be the greatest Father on earth bringing this home for them.

Each Birthday or Christmas they would get to pick a new character pack to add to their collection.

Its a small price to pay to see smiles on your kids faces, and most kids toys are a lot more expensive than this anyway.

Metallox3325d ago

Fair enough.

But I still think there are equally entertaining and good "kids" games much cheaper, like proper LEGO games.

Step Aside MultiVersus, Lego Dimensions Is The Better Warner Bros. Crossover Game

DualShockers Writes :It's not the best of times to be a MultiVersus fan. Following a 99% player base drop over the course of eight months, the game's online features will soon be shutting down to allow Player First Games to get a full release ready for 2024. It's not quite died in the way I thought it might, but it's certainly entering a period of stasis that I don't think it would undergo if there hadn't been such a mass exodus."

Hit & Run is the best. We totally need a remake... or even a back compat release.

Orchard703d ago

I'd be down for either :)

RedDevils703d ago

I like the old Simpsons cast more.

Number1TailzFan703d ago

No Virtual Springfield? Though tbf it was more of an experience than a game, even though it did have some little gameplay in some parts. Fun for fans though.

Hit & Run was great, my only complaint would be that Homer didn't have enough missions, the game could've been a bit longer and bigger.

NecrumOddBoy703d ago

This! Virtual Springfield is hands down the best Simpsons game. Such love and a modern take on that (in VR) would really bring the 35 years of Simpson-mania together in one massive package. I would love this!

-Hermit-703d ago

Homer didn't have enough missions? What do you mean? Homer and Bart were the only 2 characters that got 2 levels each.

Venoxn4g703d ago

I myself liked the DS version of the Simpsons game much more than the one on main consoles, it was a proper 2D platformer game, I recommend.

chicken_in_the_corn703d ago

Hit & Run is in dire need of a sequel. They could do so much more with the upgraded tech.

-Hermit-703d ago

15 years without a single Simpsons game now because it's in the hands of one of the worst companies, EA. A license in the hands of one of the worst companies and look what they have done to it. They have effectively killed it to make money off that crappy mobile game.

brewin703d ago

Im with you, I hate when companies effectively kill off a franchise like that. They could have done anything with the license and they did THAT?! 🤦🤷

brewin703d ago

My dream would be for Volition to use the Saints Row engine for a Simpsons open world game. Would be awesome!

brewin703d ago

Hit and Run was by far my favorite, even though I loved the Simpsons Arcade. I even had the full old school cabinet in my house at one point! A video store in my town went out of business the guy sold me the arcade unit for $50 😳 I couldn't say no! Good times.

I totally wish we could get a new Hit and Run sequel or similar open world GTA style Simpsons game. I loved exploring the iconic places in game. I'm so glad I live near Universal Orlando, the Simpsons themed parts of the town are amazingly detailed and fun to be around, even if the rides suck.
