Survarium is a F2P FPS, built around the concept of STALKER, but following the regime of being a team-based shooter similar to that of the modern Battlefield games. It's in Beta, although that fact is rather well hidden just about everywhere, for some reason the devs don't see it sensible to plaster that across their Steam page for potential players, something I find odd on the offset.
It's being developed by some ex-STALKER devs from Vostok Games, Published by the same people, and running the Vostok Engine. The Vostok Engine looks rather similar to the STALKER engine, albeit with minor improvements to graphical elements, but still just as DX9-like and just as clunky as the original STALKER series.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have greatly influenced the Eastern European games that came later. In this, the second of a two-part miniseries exploring these influences, we investigate the gameplay mechanics that make "Stalkerlikes" what they are.
Vostok Games has released some new screenshots, showcasing the new graphics renderer and lighting system that are coming soon to Survarium. Survarium is powered by the new proprietary Vostok Engine and focuses on the aftermath of a massive ecological catastrophe on Earth, the reasons behind which are only vaguely known.
Vostok Games has released a brand new update for its free-to-play online first-person shooter, Survarium. Patch 0.52 introduces a new graphics renderer, minimizes input lag without decreasing frames per second count, improves client performance when playing with a ping above 50ms and enables vertical synchronization in the game lobby.
