If true id buy on the first day. I cant wait for e3 to see the games,to see if uncharted trilogy will be announced and release sometime this year.

slappy5083330d ago

Please let this be true! Please please please!

poppinslops3330d ago

It appears to be fake... The case looks 'wrong', the image looks like fan-art and I doubt that Sony would sell them all in one package (more $$$ if they're released separately - ala the latest God of War remasters).

That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if remastered Uncharted games are announced sometime around the release of 'A Thief's End'... I hope so, anyway - Ni no Kuni and these are the last PS3 games that need to be remastered in order to sell me a PS4.

thekhurg3330d ago

Agreed. I'd get it right away. Tried to play Uncharted on Playstation Now - but even with 15mbs connection there was still latency issues with aiming/shooting.

LordMaim3330d ago

While it's almost certainly going to happen, this is likely based solely on rumor and just using fabricated box art as a place holder as retailers sometimes do.

I would be willing to be that we'll see it revealed at E3, but I'd be just as willing to bet that this retailer doesn't have any foreknowledge that you or I lack.

slappy5083330d ago

Yeah it is probably too soon for an Unchareterd Collection this fall, it's a lot of work putting it all together in a few months, unless they had a team dedicated to working on it in secret for a while . I'm pretty sure sony will have one at some point in the PS4 lifespan as it has become one of Sonys flagship IPs

XisThatKid3330d ago

Finally get U3 Multiplayer on PS4 and Share support I'll be busy for years.
Goin to play right now 3D style.

Arkardo3330d ago

Damn I want this to be true, imagine Uncharted Trilogy, Gears of War Trilogy and God Of War 3 for the ultimate remastered frenzy madness, day one.

If real, I need to break me a leg, send my wife and daughter on vacation and kill my dog so I can play all games 😉

chrismichaels043330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

This is great news for all of the millions of new PS4 gamers this generation that had a 360 and Wii last gen and missed out on this incredible franchise.

whoyouwit043330d ago

Dude are you really being serious? you would think that you Sony fans would be tired of all the remake Sony are throwing at you guys.

deadpoolio3163330d ago

@whoyouwit04; You mean all TWO...Jesus are you mentally retarded and have problems counting or something...Sorry Xbox doesn't have a massive back catalog of games they can put in a collection

I bet the reason Uncharted 4 was delayed was just so they could slip out an Uncharted Collection beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if this is announced to conveniently release sometime during the holiday season, a few months before Uncharted 4 drops.

madworld3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

OH my god guys are you serious for god sick we want new games not just fuc@#$%^&*ng REMASTERS how many remasters are there it's tooooo freak a lots guys think again we brought new consoles for new games not just remasters from past generation for now ps4 has in my opinion 4 or 5 good games which are:
Infamous SS
Call of duty
shadow of mordor
Bloodborne
Farcry4

I need more new games!!!!!!!!

just one game I want see it in HIGH Setting is Red Dead Redemption I played before and I completed 100%. !!!!

xHeavYx3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

@madworld
Stop the whining already and don't buy it if you don't want to. If you think that most games released are remastered, you are clearly delusional.

ChickenOfTheCaveMan3330d ago

I don't think so, but I think it's the reason why they're comfortable to delay Uncharted 4.

I believe the reason why they moved it will be uncovered at E3, like other great exclusive takes the slot and gives ND an extra few months to polish U4.

filipakos3330d ago

@madworldps4 Farcry 4 is also a remaster /s

_-EDMIX-_3330d ago

"I bet the reason Uncharted 4 was delayed was just so they could slip out an Uncharted Collection beforehand"

.....teams that port are not the same teams making games.

Games are contracted out ie another team that solely ports is likely porting it...not the full original team.

Bungie didn't port Halo 1 and 2, hell all of 343 didn't even port the collection as United Fronts ported most of those games over....the same team that ported Tomb Raider.

The same team that did the Doom 3 port, also did the Borderlands Ports for mac. The team porting GTAV over to PC is the same team that ported Max Payne 3 to PC.

Soooooooo I would really research who is actually doing ports and not just blindly assuming the same team that made it....is porting it.

Creating and porting are not the same thing and most times, the same team is not the one porting it over.

ie when RE was ported...it wasn't by the main RE team that even originally worked on the 2002 Remake as they were working on RE7 right now.

@filipakos- you may be joking but your not too far off.

Consider what folks are calling "remasters" are merely games that are ported over in high res....

Well...if Far Cry 4 was just delayed on PS4 and XONE... would it not be considered JUST THAT when it finally released?

Oh..so it releases day and date...thus isn't a port? LOL!

A port to me is any game made for one version and brought over to another system it wasn't made from the ground up for, soooo cross gen games, I very much would put under the category of "port".

Both running on the same engine? Port...

What if ACIV, Watchdogs, Aliens etc all just released a year after the last gen versions....?

Mind you...they where just the same games you would have gotten day and date.

Now...see how that is considered a "remaster" despite the only difference is just timing of release.

Look at ACIV.....

Consider when Rouge finally releases for PS4 and XONE...it will be deemed a port or "remaster" Sooooooooo was ACIV just not a "remaster" or a port?

Because based on engine, its merely just a port or "remaster" happening day and date of both gens.

Crimzon3330d ago

@_-EDMIX-_

I never said that teams that port are the same teams making games. If I did, I wouldn't be wrong though. Some remasters are outsourced yes, but The Last of Us Remastered was handled by Naughty Dog themselves, for example. It varies on a case-by-cae basis.

In the case of Uncharted 4 being delayed, when I speculated that it was because of the Uncharted trilogy being remastered I was implying that it would have been a decision by Sony themselves and something out of Naughty Dog's hands. Sony would know their chances of selling an Uncharted collection would be a lot less appealing after Uncharted 4 has releaed, so they'd likely have hired a studio (or maybe a couple) to work on that and get it out before Uncharted 4, and simply tell Naughty Dog their game has been pushed back and they have 4 or 5 months extra to polish.

Hence, Uncharted 4 might have been delayed for an Uncharted Collection. Not because Naughty Dog has to work on it, but because Sony love their remasters.

r2oB3330d ago

@ madworldps4

Thanks for telling why I bought a PS4. Also, I wholeheartedly agree that game releases should be based solely on your preference.

P.S. /s

_-EDMIX-_3330d ago

@Crimzon- "In the case of Uncharted 4 being delayed, when I speculated that it was because of the Uncharted trilogy being remastered"

...

http://www.polygon.com/2015...

They stated the reason for the delay and I'm not even sure why Sony would delay a game to do a port when they could again have another team do the port and have both.

Consider Sony Santa Monica is both working on the God Of War 3 port and God Of War 4 as they have a team big enough to do both, it doesn't take that much time or man power to actually do a port, hell a team of 40 people ported the Doom games to console and Mac...

"Last of Us Remastered was handled by Naughty Dog themselves"

Yes...Naughty Dog is also 2 teams and I've very doubtful the whole Last Of Us team actually even worked on that port

http://www.ign.com/articles...

and

http://www.techtimes.com/ar...

"The Last of Us was actually developed alongside Uncharted 3"

Sooooooooooo they can't make UC4 and some ports yet they can make both UC3 and The Last Of Us?

Ports don't take as long and don't cost as much and again are not even being done by a large portion of the team...if they are even being made by the same team.

Sony and ND confirmed why the delay was.

Sounds like you have nothing more then a guess.

My brother just completed TLOU Single player today. He's owned the game since launch, but he never plays single player in any game.

I guess he was finally convinced after I told him 1 million times how it's the best game I've ever played (he knows I play a crap ton of games) and mentioned to him how I've went back to play the game just for "fun" over 15 times to re-experience the story I'm a trophy guy, so he knows its rare for me to re-play games unless it's for the multiplayer with friends.

Anyways, my brother just finished TLOU single player, and he loved it. He HATES zombies, and zombie lore but still loved TLOU. I know he's more of a history buff, so I was trying to convince him he needs to get a month of PS NOW and play Uncharted 1-3. (Disclaimer: I know TLOU aren't zombies, but you can't deny the infected in TLOU share some of the same lore as the "living dead").

I failed to convince him that he NEEDS to rent Uncharted/complete their stories. If this collection is true (it doesn't look legit), I know he'll get it just to play the Multiplayer with our mutual friends. From there, I'll convince him to try the single player.

If he loved the story telling in TLOU, while traditionally hating Zombie Lore, there is no doubt in my mind that he'd love the story telling in Uncharted (since he shows a major interest in history).

Hopefully when ever Sony gets around to Publishing an "Uncharted" collection, it includes Golden Abyss (vita title). It was a great Uncharted game, but sadly not many people own Vitas.

madworld3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

To xHeavYx my brother with all doe respect when any company release another remaster after 2 remaster games that mean they looking for just profite, and I am understand those people who didn't play it on ps3 but what about people who played this trilogy what they doing in Christmas if they buy ps4 for just Sony's exclusive tell me.

pivotplease3330d ago

Except these remasters are just some filler sprinkled throughout the year and never a holiday period selling point. Those people on Christmas will probably buy the inevitable exclusives that release in the Fall.

JoGam3330d ago

I hope its true. Love Uncharted for the story but multiplayer was my jawn. I need a new multiplayer game asap. BFHL is wack and everything else on the market i'm drain from playing.

DJ-DK7863330d ago

UKmilitia3330d ago

i so want to play this before UC4,i was lucky enough to play this series already but its needed for all the people that didnt have chance to play them who are new to ps4

showtimefolks3330d ago

usually it doesn't take this long for remasters so this might be true. This rumor has been going around for a while so sony could have been hard at work on this for last 2 years.

at E3

sony announce Uncharted trilogy
EA announce Mass effect trilogy with all the dlc

Benjammin253330d ago

More than nice. The idea of playing Uncharted 2 at 1080p 60fps has me salivating at the mouth.

pivotplease3330d ago

Probably my favourite game of last gen. I beat it like 5 times and that's a big deal for me. The most I play even my favourite games is twice. I still have only clocked one play through on TLoU, GoW3, MGS4, and Heavy Rain despite the fact that I would love to play these games again. Time constraints and stuff.

elazz3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

Probably this will arrive holiday 2015 while U4 somewhere in the beginning till summer of 2016.

Hope it gets the same treatment as The Last of Us. 1080p/60fps with better AA, lighting and effects.

Eidolon3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

If it was real(and it's not), sure.. I'd like to replay all of them on the PS4 at 1080p 60fps.

Sir_Simba3330d ago

It'll be a nice way to refresh poeple on the uncharted universe.

TimeSkipLuffy3330d ago

don't forget those who started with PS4 and never had a chance to play those masterpieces.

Jaqen_Hghar3330d ago

It's definitely best for them, but a man LOVES to play the best version of games and double platinum them on the next gen. If this releases a man will be there day 1 since they're some of his favorite games of all time.

Jalva3330d ago

Well they could just play them on PS Now if they really wanted to...

But people around here don't seem to like that reality so I'll just sweep it back under the carpet.

Keep the 'remasters' coming!

What a wonderful generation this has become...

ziggurcat3330d ago

@jalva:

there's also the reality of people not having played the series last gen because they didn't own a PS3, and if a "remaster" comes out for PS4, why would you play the last-gen version?

if you had the choice to play these games in sub 720p @ ~30fps or 1080p @ (likely) 60fps with improved visuals + all of the DLC, which would you choose? because i think that those who haven't played the series before would choose the latter.

Jalva3330d ago (Edited 3330d ago )

@ziggurcat

You're missing my point completely lol

By your logic every game should get remastered...

ziggurcat3330d ago

@jalva:

no, i got your point.

and nowhere did i even insinuate that every game should get remastered, so i'm not sure how you're coming to that erroneous conclusion. saying people would probably prefer to play this series in its remastered form rather than the PSNow version (especially if they did not own a PS3 last gen) if they had the choice is in no way stating that all games should get remastered.

Analyzing 'Uncharted: Drake’s Deception' – Wait, What is The Game About?

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has a lot to live up to as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is an incredible and near-perfect game.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC930d ago (Edited 930d ago )

I cant even say what the point was its easily the worst story in the series. The online was a whole lot of fun though but overall doesn't come even close to 2

porkChop930d ago (Edited 930d ago )

It was a step back for sure. Personally, I thought even the MP was way better in U2. Solid game, glad I played it. I just think they didn't push as hard as they did with U2.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC925d ago

Yes both the online and story was better in 2 no doubt

Flewid638930d ago

The "young Drake" portion was pretty top notch, story-wise. But yeah, everything outside of that I felt was inferior.

DanielEndurance930d ago

Villains were all over the place in this… one second they wanted Drake dead, the next they needed him, then they want him dead again, then they coulda killed him, but poisoned his friend instead, then coulda shot him again, but had brunch with him, then needed him alive, then coulda mowed him down, but decided to kill him by fire and let him escape… Uncharted 2 was way better. 😅😅

slowgamer930d ago

=D Sounds crazy. I don't remember any of that. Played it on ps3 and I remember thinking that why was this game so bashed compared to second one. I liked it.

Chocoburger930d ago (Edited 930d ago )

Another thing that annoyed me about UC3 events was the agent Talbot teleporting around Turkey. It just felt off to me, and made no sense.

Also, for about one third of the game, you go on a wild goose chase to rescue Sully, who wasn't even there to be rescued, and you end up back where you started again. There was simply no pay off for all the events you go through, so it fell flat in that regard as if they couldn't figure out how to make the game longer, so they decided to side-track you to do something with no pay off, hoping you wouldn't notice due to all the incredible action set pieces they made.

Overall though, even with its flaws, I still enjoy the game.

TheEnigma313930d ago

This was actually my least favorite in the series. Didn't have that same impact that part 2 set.

Flewid638930d ago

Uncharted 2 is the pinnacle of the series (to me).

Granted, 4 had the best story in my opinion, but 2 was the overall best game.

When arguably the weakest game in the series is still awesome and more fun than most games today, you know you're onto a winner!

coolbeans931d ago

I'd extend "arguably" before awesome too. Many technically demanding scenes were jaw-dropping for the time, but it's tough to ignore the sub-par context propelling the action forward.

SullysCigar931d ago

Tough for you, perhaps, and that's fine. I enjoyed it very much. Perhaps a little less than the others in the series, but then the bar is extremely high.

I remember being blown away by the water and sand tech in U3 for the time too. It certainly was a visual treat!

LucasRuinedChildhood931d ago (Edited 931d ago )

It is very good, but when I originally played Uncharted 3 it was the most disappointed I'd ever been in a video-game because Uncharted 2 was just that good. I enjoyed 3 much more when I replayed it in the Nathan Drake Collection though. I could just enjoy it for what it is and accept that it's not Uncharted 2 - it's not a roller coaster, and it doesn't balance and rotate between action, puzzles, platforming and set-pieces in the same way.

Uncharted 3's gameplay is a bit more compartmentalized and focused on one thing at a time. I'm not surprised the scrapped version of Uncharted 4 was going to have no gunplay for the first half. It's also paced much differently - it takes a long time to get to the notable set-pieces. Uncharted 2 is insane from Nepal onwards which is about an hour into the game. haha.

I did like the introduction of chase sequences, and I love first hour (bar fight, young Drake) and from the airplane sequence onwards but I just think the rest of it just sort of meanders along without as much purpose as 2.

When it comes to the script, you can feel the absence of Neil Druckmann and Josh Scherr (writer on every other console Uncharted game). Drake gets hit in the face, and the game goes on a random side plot for an hour to give you some boat set-pieces. He then washes up on a beach close to where Elena is staying to get you back to the real plot. Drake just says "How convenient" to try make you laugh off how sloppy the plot got.

In retrospect, I'm not sure if Naughty Dog were ready to work on 2 different games at once. 3 clearly had production issues that 1 and 2 didn't have, and Hennig's version of 4 didn't work out. They had to crunch so hard to get the rebooted version done on time that Bruce Straley gave up making video-games.

coolbeans931d ago

I'll give you some props for the extra analysis. I remember Druckmann climbing his way to a writer spot in UC2, but wasn't aware of Josh Scherr. I didn't know that was the reason for Straley's departure either. That's pretty damn rough.

GhostofHorizon931d ago

They had to make some weird choices as far as story went because the actor for Cutter had to bail which left a few holes in the story.

Uncharted is one of my favourite series and while the leap from 2 to 3 was not nearly as big as the leap from 1 to 2, I think it was an amazing experience none the less.

coolbeans931d ago

Graham McTavish's departure wasn't easy, but I don't think that would fix many holes tbh. Because the main issue to consider is the precarious mindset Naughty Dog was operating on: an increased emphasis in set pieces that HAD to go in and worrying about the context later.

Petebloodyonion931d ago

I really liked part 3 ( Among Thieves is still the best in my opinion) My only complaint was the interactions with the villains and how they were a missed opportunity, Linda MacMahon (Marlowe) was an interesting antagonist due to the history with Sully and Nate but it fails basically flat especially with her ending. And I couldn't care about Navaro 2.0.

What I did love and made me care was Cutter, in the short time he was in the game you could feel that the guy was a good treasure hunter for example when he pulled his own notebook with the clues he founds so the team can escape a room.
It was a small touch that add a lot to the character.

Good-Smurf931d ago

Marlowe was played by Rosalind Ayres.

MadLad931d ago (Edited 931d ago )

I have mixed feelings on the series. I still own all of them on the PS3, and the collection for PS4, but I didn't truly "love" any of the games until 4.

They're good games, but they always stumble on some element.
The first is good, but the climbing mechanics weren't exactly fine tuned with the first showing. Not to mention the spongey enemies if you played on anything past normal; but you're then faced with a fairly unchallenging game experience.
The second mostly fixed the climbing, but added in a pretty clumsy stealth mechanic.
Three was just two with a new story.

Four got it right though.
I don't remember once getting annoyed by any mechanic had in the game.

I know that everyone has a soft spot for 2, and 3 is sort of the black sheep of the series; but they did, overall, get progressively better. Which doesn't always happen.

UC 2, 4, 3 and 1. Great read and article

ABizzel11029d ago

No Golden Abyss -_-, otherwise I agree with the order.

UC2: Best overall
UC4: Best graphics, best gameplay, best locations, best environements
UC3: Best set pieces IMO (the boat and desert fights will always be amazing)
UC1: A rough Draft of what was to come
UCGA: Basically UC1 on Vita

Levii_921029d ago (Edited 1029d ago )

Great list and great article nicely writen and explained. Although for me personaly i would put Drakes Fortune above Drake’s Deception and Uncharted 4 is absolutely my favourite of the franchise and number 1 for me.

Inverno1029d ago

U2 is the only game playable on crushing without causing a great amount of frustration. Not to mention just how much influence it had that they redid some of U2s set pieces like the caravan twice, and armored truck chase in U4.

DFresh1029d ago (Edited 1029d ago )

I'd rate it as the following.

1.) Uncharted 2
(Close to perfection of any game I've played in years. Single Player/Multiplayer/Co Op all amazing.)

2.) Uncharted 3
(On par with UC2 multiplayer/co op wise minus the kickbacks [aka killstreaks]. I really liked the Lawrence of Arabia story.)

3.) Uncharted 4
(Single player is amazing. Multiplayer was meh. Co Op had potential. Absolutely hated the health revive system it slowed down the game way too much. Always preferred the fast pace action of UC2/UC3. Made it way more fun that way. Recoil was too ridiculous that most people in lobbies would only do hip firing, using power weapons and using that OP grappling hook to melee people after dropping them. Nobody wanted to revive anyone.)

4.) Uncharted
(It's the first in the series so it's hard to judge. Though I loved the story.)

NecrumOddBoy1029d ago

I agree here but it’s also a series you can play from front to back and truly enjoy. Story-wise, they are all great and flow so well. I wish they threw both Golden Abyss and Lost Legacy on this list. Lost Legacy is the best mechanically in my opinion. You can see it’s stepping stone framework for TLOUS2.

Michiel19891029d ago

uncharted 2 is one of the few games that actually surpassed its pre-release hype.

medman1029d ago (Edited 1029d ago )

I am a single player gamer...I barely ever touch a multiplayer component. The only exceptions over the years have been the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, TLOU factions, and the Uncharted 2 multiplayer. The Uncharted 2 multiplayer saw me spend more time playing it than all my other multiplayer experiences over the years combined. That game really was a masterpiece all around.

brando0081028d ago

I agree completely, those are all stellar MP experiences, coming from another SP gamer who only occasionally gives MP some time.

Gardenia1029d ago

Come to think of it, the step between Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 is huge. It goes from the weakest in the series to one of the best games ever made.
I think I'm going to play all of them again soon.

Ninver1029d ago

Yeah all of a sudden I've got that Uncharted itch.

Michiel19891029d ago

is multiplayer still up for the remastered trilogy? or did it never have UC2 mp?
