Pillars Of Eternity developer, Obsidian, recently found themselves on the receiving end of twitter outrage over the text featured on a tombstone in game.
Financial supporters of the game were rewarded with the opportunity to have a tombstone in the game with a limerick of their choice. The offending tombstone in question featured the following,
Here lies Firedorn, a hero in bed
He once was alive and now he’s dead
The last woman be bedded, turned out a man
and crying in shame, of a cliff he ran
This particular limerick was deemed "trans-misogynistic" , and as a result, Obsidian forced the backer to change it.
Their decision is covered in their most recent update thread, as well as the reactions of forum users.
Many overlooked RPGs lie dormant in the catalogues of gaming, but players can pick up their swords and shields with these amazing JRPG hidden gems!
Josh Sawyer returned on the subject of Pillars of Eternity 3, saying he'd like to do it if he had Baldur's Gate 3's budget at his disposal.
Why not try the quintessential cRPG?
save yourself a click, the basis for this article says BG3 you basically follow the main plot with little ability to influence anything lol.....which its anything but that, so either he played it once through and didnt pay much attention or hasnt even played it at all....
Whatever, man. I’m just grateful Baldur’s Gate 3 is the game we got. Absolutely fantastic!
Huh, that makes me glad i didn't back it myself. That's quite sad on Obsidian's part, caving to the sensitivity. But like other people said in the thread, i guess children and such is less serious.
Ugh. People need to stop caving into SJW hysterics. I'm very disappointed in Obsidian.
