Earlier today Koei Tecmo released a batch of screenshots of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round‘s new batch of DLC costumes inspired by Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. Those costumes can actually be ripped and destroyed on PS4 and Xbox One, in line with Senran Kagura’s tradition.
The problem is that the official screenshots didn’t really do much to showcase the feature, display the costumes perfectly intact. Thankfully, Twitter and Youtube come to the rescue, with many users sharing screenshots directly from the PS4 on top of a couple videos, showing just how much the costumes can be ripped.
From Xfire: "Remember when you'd buy a game and... that was it? You got the full experience by purchasing the full product one time. "
Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.
"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"
No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol
"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"
Ouch!
Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000
WTF...?!
An in-depth interview feature with the developers at Koei Tecmo on the making of, and superstar rise of Marie Rose. From the feature: "For a series infamous for its big-breasted women and pin-up tone to then provide players with an option that so completely embraced cuteness was surely a creative risk. This is particularly true of markets outside of Japan, where people are as a rule far less comfortable with “cute” and “sexy” being in the same proverbial ballpark."
Jahanzeb writes: "Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is an example of what not to do when distributing a free-to-play fighting game in this day and age."
I don't know, to me this series has become more and more R rated. You know for mature gamers. There is a market for this and its a niche audience also. This game caters to that. It is a bonafide, legit fighter, but it also happens to be a fighter that showcases (among other things) scantly clad women fighting.
In fact, I think if it was marketed R or M for mature they could go even more raw. Maybe complete nudity along with ripped clothing and a such.
I see no problems with having a game for adults only. I mean GTA is also this, despite children getting their hands on it.
By the way, I realize children do get their hands on mature or R rated materials. I was speaking idealistically.
Downloaded this DLC pack this morning, costume damage is nice in theory, but not all that impressive when seen in action.
The costumes don't take "progressive damage" as the fight drags one.... instead one powerful move will make a costume go from "new" to "fully destroyed" in an instant.... I would have much rather seen the damage get progressivly worse over the length of the entire match. :/
I should not be watching this at work!
I remember when DOA was about fighting and less about this...yippee...
meh this is downgraded you can't destroy bra bro
