I would highly recommend this to anyone, regardless of which console you pick it up for. You will NOT be disappointed.

I really can't decide between this and Bloodborne.

I love both and I never played the presequel to Borderlands which is why I want the collection.

GribbleGrunger3340d ago (Edited 3340d ago )

I'm buying Bloodborne first and then Borderlands. If I had to choose between them I would still go with Bloodborne simply because of the pedigree of the Souls developer.

Edit: I feel I have to add though that I know for certain (or close to certain) that you would like Borderlands, but I can't say with as much certainty that you'll like Bloodborne. I've seen Bloodborne but not played it yet, where as I've played Borderlands for over 150 hours.

For me, it feels like Bloodborne is an event whilst Borderlands is a bloody good game. I choose the event whilst you might choose the bloody good game. You'd be happy with either though, unless difficulty is a problem.

ginsunuva3340d ago

Why would you ever choose a repackaging of last gen Borderlands over Bloodborne?

MasterCornholio3340d ago

Funny how you didn't check my trophy list before answering my question.

;)

I've played Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2, Tales From the Borderlands, DemonSouls and Darksouls.

I enjoyed every single one. And as for difficulty. Well I handled the Souls franchise just fine by breaking the game.

GribbleGrunger3340d ago (Edited 3340d ago )

So, have you decided yet? Is it a game you've already played 80% of or a game that's a new IP?

Matt6663340d ago

shame the pre-sequel is so boring, they should of re-mastered borderlands one

GribbleGrunger3340d ago

Yeah, from what I've seen and heard the pre-sequel wasn't very good but Blorderlands 2 + all the DLC is good enough by itself to warrant a purchase.

Minimox163340d ago

Hey I only played Borderlands 1, if I get this collection you recommend me to play the pre-sequel first?

vickers5003340d ago

@Minimox

I saw that question asked on another article, one of the answers was that the way the story is told, you're better off playing Borderlands 2 first.

MasterCornholio3340d ago

Oh what the heck. I'll buy Bloodborne and Darksouls 2. That way I can enjoy two great games from FromnSoftware that I haven't played before.

As for Borderlands, ill just wait for a price drop.

Anyways ill pick up those two once I'm done with Shadows of More door.

raymantalk13340d ago

i dont get why 1nsomniac has got a trolling for stating that he did not like borderlands series so it is trolling now to not like a game ?

3-4-53340d ago

* Played Borderlands 1 about two years after it released on Xbox 360 and instantly fell in love with the gameplay style and world they created.

* I then waited about a year after BL2 released to buy that and played it on Xbox 360 & PC.

I've only ever gotten about 60-70% through the Main game of BL2 though so I have a lot of game left to play.

* I get to play BL2 and all it's DLC, which basically is another half a game & The PResequel, which I've yet to play, all for $60.

And it has 4 player couch co-op.

That is a pretty good deal and enough to hold me over until BL3.

Can't wait to play this on the XB1.

The Pre-Sequel didnt stick with me sad to say not like the other two!

KrystofKage13340d ago

Loved the vault hunters, but the campaign was short, and some of the levels felt tedious, having to run long distances without any WP.

Also Deadlift is near impossible to beat solo in TVHM and above. If he was one of the last bosses I'd understand, but he's one of the very first bosses in the game!

taijutsu3633340d ago

You're right! Cant help but feel like they wanted to make use of the zero gravity moon jumping like "Yayyy I can flyyy!" The maps were so confusing I didnt know where to go sometimes or how to get to certain areas and made backtracking a pain in the arse!

I just tried TVHM for the first time the other day and I decided to play online made him much easier to beat!

OrangePowerz3340d ago

Since I skipped the Pre-Sequel because I was waiting for a PS4/X1 version it's exactly what I wanted :)

LiViNgLeGaCY3340d ago

Dude, same here! This is PERFECT for me!! :D

vickers5003340d ago

Same here, and Borderlands is my favorite franchise. Was hard waiting, but there was no way in hell I was going to buy a last gen version when "next gen" was already out, and would inevitably come to ps4/xb1.

shammgod3340d ago

Scooping this and Bloodborne. My pockets are hurting, but now thru may will be set.

bmwfanatic3340d ago

Gamefly just shipped my copy today so ill have it Wednesday.

DivoJones3340d ago

Yep mine too.. was worried it'd have to sit in my queue for a bit. Now I know what i'm playing this weekend!

Resistance 3 is such a great game. One of my all time bests.

cooperdnizzle686d ago

Couldn’t agree more. Still love It as a shooter to this day.

Just something about that game. I really wish they would just do a remaster, don’t even need a remake just bring it up to todays out put, touch up a few things if any, and I am there to buy it day one.

Of course I would love a remake built from the ground up. As long as they treated it like Shadow of the Colossus, or close to those type of remake. Wouldn’t want it to get the RE treatment…. Just because the game is already paced so perfect and hits all the right beats that I wouldn’t touch that aspect.

because they all run like garbage and are poorly optimized for switch

G3ng4r925d ago

These actually run quite well on switch but you are welcome to show us how ignorant you are if you like. I picked up the handsome collection because of how nice it looks on switch compared to something like outer worlds. Outer worlds is blurry trash on switch.

Yui_Suzumiya924d ago (Edited 924d ago )

I have The Outer Worlds on both PS4 and Switch and it most definitely didn't run bad on Switch. How many hours did put in on the Switch version?!

G3ng4r924d ago

My profile says I played for 75 hours so I put up with some stuff. And it does run bad on switch. The latest patch helped to keep it at 30fps but it still doesn't stay there. Then there are those moments when the game stops you where you are to load assets, you can't tell me you haven't seen that loading circle in the center of the screen. Lastly, and most damning in my opinion, is how blurry the game is. Monarch in particular gave me a headache to look at for long, orange soup for miles.

Look, I get it, you're a switch fan. So am I. That doesn't mean we have to be dishonest and claim that games that were obviously never meant to come to the platform actually run flawlessly.

G3ng4r924d ago

Examples of ported games that look nice on switch: skyrim, dark souls, borderlands, bioshock, diablo 3

Examples of ported games that look like a fart on switch: outer worlds, witcher 3, divinity os 2, doom 2016, ark survival

It isn't hard. Play what the switch handles well, skip what it doesn't and don't confuse people as to what looks good and what doesn't.
