Ed Boon Teases Spawn for Mortal Kombat X

Ed Boon has released a teaser image via twitter on the possible inclusion of Spawn in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X game, with the release of a Mortal Kombat/Spawn Blu-Ray film collection.

Ash Williams would be a great character to have in MKX too.

They could add the protagonist of Hellblade. I think she would be a good fit.

But if we're thinking multiplatform, then I think it would be funny if Yoshimitsu (Tekken / Soul Caliber) were in another fighting game. He'd fit in MK quite well, and I'd like to see how he'd play in a 2D fighter.

Yea I was thinking that they could do it as well. It would need to be extremely violent and bloody though. I would want it to be gritty like the comics. I think they would do Spawn justice. I heard some whispers of a possible Superman game by them. I would be extremely excited if that is true.

So all the rumors are starting to ring true.

Jason is in because I suspect WB wants to promote the new Friday the 13th show coming out sometime, Spawn I hear there's going to be a revival soon, Predator, I don't know of anything but I wouldn't be shocked if a re-make or sequel was announced soon...

So with these obvious characters being related to upcoming films or shows I have to guess that the next secret character would be Batman to promote Arkham Knight or Superman to promote Superman Vs. Batman...I'm gonna go with Batman.

Scorpion appeared in Injustice, I'm thinking a character from Injustice might show up in MKX.

Well Batman or Superman's fatality doesn't have to necessarily gory or even have them kill them. It can be their Ultra from Injustice.

And hardcore Superman from Injustice doesn't have any qualms about killing.

Batman nor Superman will be in it. Both characters have a strict "no kill" policy, Batman even moreso than Superman. Making them perform Fatalities would be raged against to the extreme. Don't believe me? Just look at the last Superman film when he killed Zod.

Who says that Superman or Batman's fatality would actually kill the opponent. Just as Red stated maybe their Fatality would be nothing more than just the Ultra they performed in Injustice or some super beat down.

And the alternate Superman can kill, we saw that in Injustice already.

And I love how people got all angry when Superman killed Zod in Man Of Steel and yet in the 80's film Superman II he kills Zod too.

Snookies pretty much answered it but I'll add that they'd have to go into a thing about explaining that it's the alternate Superman if they did that and what's the point of doing that for a guest character with no story impact?

And as for Superman 2, I think there are two things about that. 1. I'd imagine a lot of the people that whined about Man of Steel likely didn't see Superman 2, which they should be ashamed of quite frankly.

2. I think it was more in the way that Superman did it in Man of Steel vs. in Superman 2. Some people think that in Superman 2 he seemed to enjoy it a bit, but I don't really see that. The difference between throwing Zod against a wall and then he falls into a chasm to his death, vs snapping his neck might be the factor.

Then again, in SM2 his motivation was saving Lois and stopping Zod from conquering the world whereas in MoS his motivation was saving many lives so it's very tricky.

Personally speaking, I see no issue with Superman killing if he had to. There is a difference between indiscriminate murder and having to unfortunately end a life. But that's just me.

Batman originally didnt have a no kill policy. That was actually only started when the comic industry began being viewed as a kids thing. Similar to how the gaming industry is being looked at by some. The TMNT were also very brutal as well. So both sides technically have a point.

This is slowly turning into a "Super Mortal Smash Brothers Kombat".

I'm perfectly aware that I'm a minority on this, but as a long time MK fan (since the very first part), it seems that MK franchise has become stale and it's slowly turning into a one big mess. IMO, once you get over a "shock value" induced by extreme violence, blood and gore, you get an average fighting game.
