Bloodborne May Be The PS4's Salvation In 2015

At the start of this year, it seemed like it was going to be a killer 2015 for Sony . As we saw at their winter “PlayStation Experience” event, the message was simple, a slow start for the PS4 was about to give away to a flood of great exclusives the following year. The most anticipated three Sony games of the year were The Order: 1886, Bloodborne and Uncharted 4.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

After I read this part I had to laugh;

"So we’re left with Bloodborne, and from the looks of it, the game has the potential to finally reverse this trend of bad news for Sony. Though the game has experienced some delays, it will indeed be released on March 24th, and will have to be exhibit A in Sony’s case as to why the PS4 is worth picking up over its rivals."

Bwhaaaahahahahahaaaaa!

The PS4 has more games incoming than any other console and that's the main reason why it's worth picking up and the main reason why it continues to sell nearly 1 million consoles per month worldwide.

@Septic

Sure you could argue that more isn't necessarily better, but having a wide variety of choices IS better than having LESS choices. You're also entitled to your OPINION in regards to the PS4's lineup, but you don't mind if I disagree with your OPINION do you?

Gazondaily3352d ago

More isn't necessarily better. I certainly feel (no surprise there you'll say) that the PS4's lineup has been a snoozefest thus far apart from Resogun.

I'm sure that Bloodborne will change that for me.

MrDead3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

Well you might find the line-up a "snoozefest" but gamers seem to be loving the PS4 and its exclusives. You don't see sales like what the PS4 has been getting by having a "snoozefest line-up.

Bloodborne is another in a long line of exclusives that are releasing this year, no need for "Salvation".

majiebeast3352d ago Show
Gazondaily3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@majie

"Lol of course a Microsoft puppet would say that. Shouldn't you be making some more praising articles about ID@Xbox?"

I haven't made one article about that yet? Keep stalking though :)

@Igivehugs

"You're also entitled to your OPINION in regards to the PS4's lineup, but you don't mind if I disagree with your OPINION do you?"

Of course I don't mind. I'm not as narrow minded as some of the folk on here :) (see above).

I just think the 'Greatness Awaits' tag kind of shot Sony in the foot; the die-hard fanbase touted that slogan for what seems like ages and are still doing so.

I personally haven't enjoyed the PS4 lineup thus far but I know people who have. For me, its been shoddy with nothing to write home about compared to the other consoles.

"You don't see sales like what the PS4 has been getting by having a "snoozefest line-up. "

Well Knack outsold Super Mario 3D World. That is a prime example imo of a completely lackluster game selling a FAR superior platformer. Am I supposed to take those sales seriously and reassess my enjoyment?

I agree with the article and I was saying it on this very site; I thought the PS4 had 2015 in the bag. With the delay of Uncharted 4 and The Order failing to be a decent game (imo before you lot start spamming sales figures as if they are indicative of quality) my eyes are set on Bloodborne, the first PS4 exclusive worth talking about.

SoapShoes3352d ago

That's true Septic but the X1s lineup has been vastly inferior and has HUGE gaps between exclusives. Last year it was 6 1/2 months before it got an exclusive after Titanfall and this year it'll be an 8 to 10 month gap since MCC.

Gazondaily3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@Soap

What does the 'gap' have to do with anything? I've enjoyed the likes of Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2 etc a lot more than what the PS4 library has. How are they vastly inferior (unless you're talking about your opinion)?

Below

'Salvation' is way strong a word I know. But I see it as Bloodborne breaking a streak of monotony.

I'm only talking up to BB's release btw. Anything after that in 2015, well I have no idea what's in store for E3 and beyond.

Re-versed3352d ago

salvation ??jump to conclusions so early???You said that we should wait for E3...ps4 will have a gr8 year...sony has done the right moves this gen...you know that they will do it great again this year...Numbers show that MS indeed need salvation, not sony...

MrDead3352d ago

@Septic

Just stop spreading hate and just accept that people are free to buy what they want. So what if Knack outsold Super Mario 3D, so what if they enjoy the Order and you didn't, gamers brought what they wanted, just accept it and move on.

I’m having a great time with my PS4 and Bloodbourne is going to make my time owing a PS4 even better which is something you’re just going to have to get over and accept.

nix3352d ago

Thanks Septic for buying Bloodborne.

Gazondaily3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@MrDead

I'm not a hater mate. I'm just giving you my opinion. If you don't agree that's fine.

"So what if Knack outsold Super Mario 3D, so what if they enjoy the Order and you didn't, gamers brought what they wanted, just accept it and move on. "

Move on? It's not that I'm hung up over people buying what I consider an inferior game, I'm just drawing attention to the fact that the sales argument doesn't hold weight like how people act like it does.

If people want to buy Justin Bieber albums, or Knack or whatever, let them. It doesn't stop me from offering my opinion does it? Or am I only allowed to chime in if I blindly sing praises for all things Sony? That's the impression I get round these parts anyway.

@Nix

"Thanks Septic for buying Bloodborne."

Didn't you thank me for buying The Order: 1886 too? Hey I didn't know you worked for From Software or SCE :) Why are you thanking me lmao?

All I've said is, I didn't like the PS4 library of games and I think Bloodborne marks the first game to break that cycle of monotony for me.

Death3352d ago

If the PS4 is your only/primary console than it has been a great console to have. Third party games make up the bulk of releases, let's stop pretending the exclusives actually make a console, they are used to show the differences. Having a WiiU, Xbox One and PS4, I spend the majority of my time on the Xbox One mostly due to the fact that is where most of my friends are. The bulk of my third party games are played on the Xbox One so for me it has been my favored console. I could very easily be having the same experience on the PS4 since Diablo 3 and Destiny get the most rotation in my disc drive.

I have bought the same amount of exclusives for my PS4 and Xbox One. Neither is really "better" in that regards for me. It all comes down to personal preference. This non-sense about waiting for exclusives and who has more needs to stop. Not many people buy every exclusive game for any platform.

maybelovehate3352d ago

I agree for the most part. Resogun and Last of Us remake are both great but other than that nothing has really stood out. Hopefully that will change with Bloodborne.

Genuine-User3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

I wholeheartedly disagree.

Here's a list of console exclusive games I have enjoyed so far:

The Last of Us Remastered
Guilty Gear Xrd
Transistor
Infamous Second Son
Resogun
Infamous First Light
Driveclub
Helldivers
Little Big Planet 3
Grim Fandango
MLB The show
The Order 1886
The Unfinished Swan
Hohokum
Final Fantasy 14
Apotheon
PixelJunk Shooter
Flower
The Binding of Isaac
Killzone Shadowfall
Towerfall Ascension
Velocity 2x
Olli Olli 1&2
Hotline Miami 1&2
Sound Shapes

Griever3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

Maybe your tastes suck? Because 20.2 million people are clearly loving the games since they bought a more expensive PS4. I am playing FFXIV, Transistor, Oddworld New & Tasty, Dragon Age Inquisition and FF Type-0 on PS4 right now. I will get Driveclub and Order 1886 as soon as I got money to spare. Playstation has variety! Different people buy PS4 for different kinds of games. How come those supposedly so much better games on Xbox One are all sales flops? Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Titanfall etc. Nobody buys them (relatively speaking); why? If they are soooo much better, people should be buying the Xbox One instead. The fact is that you Xbox fans are just bragging about the review scores which can be biased and can be bought easily for publicity. No matter how much you brag about those metacritic scores the games are not fun enough to bring people to the Xbox One.

MrDead3352d ago

@Septic

.... just move on, why do you even care if people like Knack or the Order?

You also say "It doesn't stop me from offering my opinion does it? Or am I only allowed to chime in if I blindly sing praises for all things Sony? That's the impression I get round these parts anyway”. That’s true you are free to offer your opinion but how many times do you have to keep saying the same thing and how many more articles like this do you have to keep approving?

We get it, just move on.

Anyway, yeay!! Bloodbourne.

uptownsoul3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@Septic

While your right that more isn't necessarily better, its isn't necessarily worse either… And words like better and worse are purely subjective & 100% opinion anyways. So I'll take more games thus increasing the likelihood that I'll get more games that I personally enjoy

Gority3352d ago

@Septic

Not saying the PS4 exclusive lineup has been great so far, but Forza Horizon 2 and Titanfall weren't exclusives and you used those as your examples.

Personally, I think Sunset Overdrive is the X1's biggest accomplishment so far, and the only exclusive it has that has interested me.

Ballsack3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

I think its good people are starting to see that there are certain people on here who have alot bubbles but are as bad as the fanboys with one bubble ....

They spread their fanboyism in a subtle manner and have got away with it too long

Edit@ukmilitia ...like i said subtle fanboyism..but people are clocking on now

UKmilitia3352d ago

if in your opinion Reshogun the only good game on ps4 this gen then u have lost any credability imo.

there have been many good games out,certainly more than the xb1 has had out.

regarding the thread a console with a 2-1 lead doesnt need a salvation because what it has and is getting is already selling enough consoles and gaining fans every day.

i have no idea why u have so many bubbles because all i ever see you write is negative about ps4.

Farmassy3352d ago

I have to agree with septic. Bloodborne is the first ps4 game that makes me want to get a ps4. I had to decide between an x1 and ps4 so I went with an x1 and will get a ps4 when the time is right. I will probably wait for an uncharted bundle and get one then. I have been excited for some ps4 exclusives in the past but I am usually let down. For example, I really enjoyed the infamous and killzone series on my ps3, but those games were all flash and no substance on the ps4. I was also excited about the order originally but we all know how that turned out. Bloodborne is the first game to break the monotony of mediocre exclusives. Don't see why people are disagreeing with this idea. It's not that there are not good games available on the ps4, just that the exclusives have not been great up until this point. I am expecting bloodborne to be awesome

WelkinCole3352d ago

lol!. If the PS4 game collection is a snore fest in your opinion like these so called journalist then competition are going to be in a world of hurt once it gets the great games as you say.

You are entitled to your opinion but in the same way don't be surprise or be defensive if people disagree with your opinion.

Christopher3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@Septic I feel that way about both non-Nintendo consoles so far. For me, it's been third-party titles that have been doing it. There are the occasional interesting games, though (SSO, iSS, etc.). But nothing major that makes me really want them or make it a "reason" to own the console in question.

But, I do hate titles like this that speak of doom and gloom for the consoles. The XBO is selling better than the 360 and the PS4 is selling better than imagined. To use the word "salvation" at all in regards to both when they're beating last gen numbers on both hardware and software sales seems to be very clickbait in direction.

Someone answer me this why does a console that sold 20 mil plus the combined total of the other two consoles needs saving again. Damn the media sucks balls.

Death3352d ago

Yeah, neither console needs "saving". This is especially true for the PS4 which is breaking sales records on a regular basis. It does look like Bloodborne will be our first true next gen game which is something to be excited about.

AngelicIceDiamond3352d ago

@Ace They probably mean its first party.

I mean they sell well, but So far Sony's first party aren't peoples favorite games despite the sales.

Aceman183352d ago

@Angel

Well I'm not one of those upright every game must be damn near perfect people. I'm one of those if I'm interested in said game I will buy it, and everyone else's opinions on said game can go stuff it lol.

Case in point

My personal scores for these games

Infamous SS 8.5
DriveClub 9 (even with the launch issues)
The Order 8 (really enjoyed what I played)

the only opinion(s) that matter to me are mine, and I'm not gonna let media or haters influence my buying purchase.

Farmassy3352d ago

@aceman

That's great that you judge games for yourself but it seems like you might have bad taste or some bias because those games were not great. Yes I understand that game reviews are subjective but if we are going to have the conversation we should base the subjective merit of a game on objective data... Perhaps a mean of all review scores. Your review of the games are much higher than what is generally thought they deserved

Aceman183352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@farm

Clearly I do not care what the media and others think, the general public can not tell me what games I should and shouldn't like.

No ones taste is good or bad it's their own personal preference there's no bias at all. My review for what games I buy is all that matters not the general the public.

Farmassy3351d ago

@aceman

thats all well and good but if it really doesn't matter what other people think than why are you here asserting your opinion? Its pointless unless you are attempting to come to some consensus on the matter.

Also, I think its great that you like mediocrity. We need consumers like you for the economy to stay strong. IMO

Aceman183351d ago

@farm

why does it bother so what i do with my money, and what games i buy? if MS had more games that i wanted other than sunset overdrive i'd probably buy one, but they don't.

i'll continue to buy the games that interest me you a$$bag.

I think the main problem is the press seem to be hardcore orientated. Titles that don't interest THEM are automatically ignored because they assume other people think the same way. They don't seem to understand that it doesn't matter if ONE game doesn't sell extraordinarily well; what matters is that dozens of games sell well to their chosen demographic.

If you focus on only the hardcore with games like COD then what you end up with is a userbase with very limited taste. This then forces other developers to try and copy those successful games because they're the only games that sell well on that system. This was why last gen turned into a FPS-fest.

Variety and depth of software is why the PS4 is selling incredibly well and it's why the PS brand has always sold incredibly well. Don't double down on things that give you instant profit, broaden your scope to make bigger profit in the future and help developers realise their vision, not compromise their integrity.

Just like Independent film makers are important to Hollywood, Independent developers are important to console/PC gaming. We need to encourage gamers to broaden their tastes and we need developers to see a reason to cater for them. You can only do that if you stick to a long term plan and garner a bigger, broader, more open minded community of gamers.

This is why I like Sony.

I'm convinced that the gaming press are NEVER going to understand this and we'll be getting the 'I don't understand why the PS4 is selling so well' articles right up to the end of this generation. Perhaps I'm being harsh there and perhaps we will see a few pennies dropping here and there, but generally speaking, I think that's how it will go.

Of course it doesn't help that the press have about faced on many things they constantly banged on about last gen, one of which was the day of the 'exclusive' is coming to an end and it's the multiplatform games that now drive sales. I wonder why that has suddenly changed? Contemplating that about face (and many others) leads you to naturally draw a conclusion. Perhaps that conclusion is wrong and perhaps 'coincidence' is at play here, but it really IS difficult to ignore.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3352d ago

This is the reason I have owned every Playstation console. Well said Mr. Gribble.

wakeNbake3352d ago

The PS4 will do just fine sales wise with its superior multiplats and higher consumer mindshare.
That being said.....
Other than Bloodborne, Persona5, and No Mans Sky, the PS4 doesnt have a whole lot going for it this year in terms of AAA exclusives.

GribbleGrunger3352d ago

And if 3 AAA titles by the end of this month is nothing then what does NO AAA titles by the end of this month equal? I feel as if we've entered some alternative universe in which it would be better to have nothing to prove you have more.

Cupid_Viper_33352d ago

@ Gribble

"I feel as if we've entered some alternative universe in which it would be better to have nothing to prove you have more."

Bill Maher calls this phenomena "The Bubble" where logic, facts, and hard numbers don't mean squat. And the only thing that matters is "how you FEEL".

Like I feel as though the fastest selling consoles of all time, which has more games coming out than both of it's competitors combined, IS IN TROUBLE... and that's all that matters.

And what's that you say? What if someone points and lists all of the games for the PS4 that the competition doesn't have? Oh I'll simply say "BORRRING!" and be done with it.

This should be Team Xbox's slogan https://imgflip.com/i/7hbpm

uth113352d ago

First time Playstation owner with the PS4 here. I can give my perspective of why I chose a PS4.

I had a Wii last gen. It had its great headline titles- The Super Mario Galaxies/New SMB/Wii Sports Resort, etc. and they were great. Outside of the core titles, the library was awful, not enough variety in genres, too many games just weren't fun. Awful 3rd party support.

So when it came time to upgrade, we decided to not stick with Nintendo. We knew PS4 was likely to get the 3rd party titles we've been missing, and it seemed that PS3 got more variety in games than MS.

I have not been disappointed. I've had more fun with the PS4 than I ever did with the Wii. Yes it's a bit lacking on the headline exclusives. Yes there are some holes in the library, but we know they are coming- in the meantime I have more games I want to play than I have time for. What more can you ask?

GoGoGadge73352d ago

Wow what garbage of an article.

The PS4 is in a commanding lead. It needs no "salvation".

My Xbox One got turned on finally during the early winter for Halo MCC... when my Live sub lapsed 2 weeks ago I didn't even bother re-upping.

Too much good shit already being played on my 4 to even care.

Honestly I don't even know why I have it... Only thing I am looking forward to is Halo 5... and I swear.. if I don't play as the chief... screw it.

Ryan7413352d ago

Its not MORE games the PS4 needs its good games, you are getting the two confused.

WelkinCole3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

The problem is in these so call gaming journalist minds. They think because they think that Sony don't have any good games in their mind it needs salvation.

The problem with this is that the majority of gamers don't give a rats ass about gaming journalist prespective of gaming anymore and this scare the shit out of them because they know they are losing relevance if not already. So what they do?. They come up with BS articles like these to get attention.

We now have youtube and Sony playshare which drastically changes things for them and it is pissing them off. Especially playshare because people will just look/play and make their decisions instead of listening or reading their shitty reviews most of the times.

It is quite sad the state of gaming journalism now days.

Sony is consistently putting out games throughout the year but this does not mean anything. No, there has to be one or two great game for the year to make the PS4 relevant in their minds.

Gamer19823352d ago

Indeed as of 2015 nobody is saying xbox has the best exclusives except the most hardcore xbox fans and then the order comes out which is a great game its just short thats all thats wrong with it and all of a sudden the ps4 is the losing console this year and xbox is the one with all the exclusives.. Just maddening how people get this.. But the haters gotta hate right??

jrshankill3352d ago (Edited 3352d ago )

@soapshoes

You say "X1s lineup has been vastly inferior", I wholeheartedly disagree. The PS4 by far has had the worst exclusives this generation SO FAR. Wii-U has killed it with Mario Kart and Mario 3D World.

X1, for me, is second with Sunset Overdrive. Yes, this year the X1 is lacking so far in exclusives, but the PS4 offerings are nothing to shout about. There isn't a PS4 exclusive better than Sunset Overdrive, and I would enjoy the ramblings of a PS4 user who can say that their console has a better exclusive. I own LBP3, iNFAMOUS and The Order, not a scratch on Sunset.

Azzanation3351d ago

Completely disagree. Quantity is never a good thing for a system. Too many bad games is what lead to the great gaming crash in the 80s. If you purchase a console you expect quality not 100s of mediocre games that you will never play because that can leave a bad taste in a poor kids mouth if he decides to waste his hard earn on a bad game.

2013 and 2014 has shown XB1 has the better AAAs so far going off reviews. Why are people buying a PS4 over the XB1 if there isn't any games? Its marketing and its basically what's hot. You can argue different tastes in games but I will say if you want the most powerful games with a huge library then PC is the way to go. That's the way iv been gaming since 1997 and ill never look back.

Yeah these articles about the PS4 having nothing after Bloodborne are getting tiresome.

We do not know what other games or projects that Sony has in development that has yet to be announced. Last year almost nobody knew Little Big Planet 3 was in the works until that E3 announcement. Who knows maybe Last Guardian may be the trump card that Sony finally re-reveals to make up for the Uncharted 4 delay, having that game release this year would definintely make up for that news.

Then there is Guerilla's new game, Media Molecule's, Sony Bend, Quantic Dream's and whatever else is in the works. It's not even E3 yet so why are these articles even showing up.

FullmetalRoyale3352d ago

All I saw was Bloodborne, then thought about how it's so imminent. The rest was blah, blah, blah.
So excited for it to unlock!

lemoncake3352d ago

It's a bit of a niche genre but it should be a really great game, hopefully it's the start of a good run for the ps4.

Gazondaily3352d ago

It seems to have more 'mainstream' appeal than the Soul games mind.

Its helped in part by the impressive visuals but also the faster flow of combat.

I think it will have a lot more commercial success as a result of its more approachable design. The more aggressive combat system is a REALLY good idea.

Re-versed3352d ago

you know what have i understand after so many years watching the consoles war??That every time we found something new to criticise sony but in the end they always win...

Master-H3352d ago

Thing is...Sony is already winning this time around.

So nice try @forbes lul

PS : Personally couldn't be more hyped for Bloodborne! It's reached a point where I have to constantly look up for more and more spoilers that get posted this last week, just to pass the time till the game arrives.

nitus103351d ago

I try not to look for spoilers for any game I am interested in mainly because I prefer going in "cold" and enjoy the challenge.

If I do have a major problem I normally try to solve it on my own and as a last resort go to the web and find out what I have done wrong and if possible what I should do to advance past were I was stuck, then I stop reading.

nowitzki20043352d ago

360 literally led the PS3 almost the entire gen, and eventually the PS3 beat it even after it came out a year after the 360.

Gamer19823352d ago

I think Forbes is owned primarily by MS shareholders or something. I mean they must do or live in some sort of bubble.. As they are the most biased anti Sony people on the web.. In fact I would go as far to say they are this gens Kotaku.

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno48d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3348d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree47d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga47d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno47d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast15d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno15d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast15d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.

Yes, yes it does. It’s still a great game. Elden Ring isn’t better just different and a bit easier . I like that you have to be aggressive but smart in Bloodborne

Yes. Just replayed it a few days ago. My first Platinum. And yes. I rage quitted so many times and called it BS too when I started. It's tight. The combat is amazing and the lore is rich.

GamingSinceForever49d ago

Elden Ring was easier? I don’t know about that at all. I remember leveling up in Bloodborne and breezing through it. In Elden Ring no matter how powerful I got I was still catching a beat down from every boss.

thorstein49d ago

That's due to scaling enemies. I remember not doing Haligtree untill near the end and having enemies withstand almost a full blast from Azur's Glintstone Staff Comet Azure. My level was quite high.

Melee characters are not fun in that game, especially for the Elden Beast.

Bloodborne's Potential Remaster Continues To Be Sony's Biggest Missed Opportunity

"Sony is missing out on a hugely profitable opportunity by ignoring fan demands for a Bloodborne remaster and PC port," says Ahmed from eXputer.

thorstein78d ago (Edited 78d ago )

Bloodborne came out on the PS4. It is owned by From Software. What missed opportunity? I am sure the people at From Software know what they are doing. Especially since they are hiring devs instead of laying them off.

Maybe do an article about that instead of writing a hit piece on them acting like they don't know how to run their business.

To be fair Hidetaka Miyazaki said in an interview

“Unfortunately, and I’ve said this in other interviews, it’s not in my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically. We simply don’t own the IP at FromSoftware.”

So the ball kind of is in Sonys court, it feels like a missed opportunity because it’s something people really want and Sony just hasn’t really been bothered to get it off the ground. There was rumours it was at one point but it all went silent.

Sony has been missing nothing but opportunities for a few years now.. since GOW release, it’s worrying silence we’ve been getting..

As for Bloodborne, imo it would be too soon to release it because PS4 game still looks phenomenal..

Bloodborne REMAKE I think will be PS6 launch title by Bluepoint. I truly hope so! 2 gens later we can get the same wow effect as Demons Souls.

He is right because it is Sonys IP but a little further back he also explained that they only work on one game at a time. This means that From must also be available. In other words it could already be in the pipeline. Ecen if that is the case, it's still up to Sony to reveal it when they are ready. As ever, I prefer not to hear about it until it's about 3 to 6 months from releasing.

'Bloodborne came out on the PS4. It is owned by From Software'

Actually Sony owns the IP, same with Demon's Souls. I think they'd prefer if From did the work on any future of both of those though, but if Sony wanted to they could have those off to anyone else to work on them, like the DS remake.

Yeah. Thanks for the info.

But I still think that remasters should wait a generation. And Blue Point did Demon's Souls which was superb.

It can be a huge risk. And I think Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted that it would be a PS6 title. I don't he has no say in what happens, it's a partnership.

To be honest, if there is a remake/remaster (not that it needs one) I would prefer someone else to handle it, like they did with Demon Souls

From many perspectives From Soft is an amazing developer, BUT, on a technical level they are far from impressive, both in terms of dated visuals (again, on a technical level, not art/design) and usually poor performance.

And what is the point of a remake/remaster if not to provide a visual and performance enhancement to a game that already nailed the rest?

Michiel198976d ago

@thorstein what huge risk? Part of one of the most well known ip's in gaming nowadays, there's not much risk there when it comes to a remake.

thorstein75d ago

@Michiel

I meant remasters in general are a huge risk, not Bloodborne.

Bloodborne isn't, but I think it's going to be on PS6, like how Demon's Souls went from PS3 to PS5.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thorstein,

Wow, your post seems angry..relax it's an opinion.

And btw, it is on Sony, they have the exclusive right to the game, on top of that, they could have easily, at bare minimum, offered an official 60fps patch, with a few extras and charged people $10 to upgrade or $30-40 for new buyers.

I believe I saw an interview where , FromSoft said it was all up to Sony on a sequel and other dealing with the game.

A "hit peice", that serious huh?..relax lol.

thorstein76d ago (Edited 76d ago )

Wow you seem angry. I responded to crash 2 days ago about the remaster and who did it.

Why do you care what other people think in a moment about some journalism. Calm down, buddy, it's just my opinion. From 3 days ago.

Edit: I just went back through my comments and found 2 where I call out the author in the past month. Wow, I'm a rageaholic.

It will be a launch title on PS6 just like the remake of Demon's Souls for PS5 launch

OhReginald76d ago

Sony realizes people will flock to buy ps6s for a bloodborne remake. Easy money.

jznrpg76d ago (Edited 76d ago )

Rumored it’s slated for PS6 launch. Some say PS5 Pro. Who knows ?

P_Bomb76d ago

Highly requested, unfortunately neglected.

jznrpg49d ago

Some say we didn’t need TLOU2 remake but that was a PS4 game and now we need a BB remake but that was a PS4 game. We send mixed signals
