Unraveled Hands-on | NZGamer

NZGamer:
I don’t think I’ve ever cried at the hands of a game demo before, but a preview build of Roseportal Games’ Unraveled brought me pretty damn close.

Unraveled tells the story of a young girl whose parents work at a ship breaking yard in India (presumably - though it’s not mentioned - in Alang). When she can’t find her parents, she sets out into the “ship graveyard” to find them, and thanks to her vivid imagination, this turns into a rather epic adventure.

This imagination turns a bleak, lifeless setting into something fantastical, and the way the game merges reality and fantasy is compelling. Our heroine discovers some moss on a ship that’s falling apart, and it leads to an expansive forest, with colourful butterflies everywhere and light streaming down through the canopies. A puddle leads to an underwater wonderland, with bright corals instilling the same sense of warmth as the sun’s rays in the forest.

Failed Kickstarter Videogame Campaigns for March 2015

Marcus Estrada writes: "Every month Kickstarter is full of wild successes, and depressing failures. While some are always going to have that massive fan push behind them to see hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding others barely make it to the finish line. Due to the nature of Kickstarter, there's simply not enough money to go around to fund every worthwhile campaign. The purpose of this post is to shine a light on those campaigns that had the chops for success, but for one reason or another failed to make their goal this time."
