Anyways back on topic. This game looks awesome. The lighting and textures look very nicely improved. Do we get a camera for photo mode that flies through the map freely or is it just the fixed camera positions?

I'm pretty sure that Epic in a Gametrailers promo said that you will not be able to record videos only screenshots but I just hope that it gives you a free roam camera. It will make sitting out a bit more interesting.

Yup, they said that! I saw that too, it was on Spike TV on Friday with that bear guy saying it (i think he's the main programmer). He also said that the ripping their arms off and beating them with it move is gone too.

since the first and last videos are the only ones that actually show gameplay i'll talk about them and ignore the others.

I am very dissapointed because those graphics dont look anything like the ones in the orininal gameplay video they released (the one with them riding the huge vehicles in which at the end of the vid after they kill the giant locust monster they ram into it).

If these new videos show how the game is going to look now then I think that the devs made a bad decision to go with that style of graphics, they should have stuck to the original style of graphics from GeoW 1. These look too whitewashed like ps3 games.

I'm not happy at all, they better fix this fast!

This is Online multiplayer.
What you're talking about is single player. That has not been changed and everything you talk about is still there.

Personally I can't wait for this game.

Those are some of the most detailed multi player maps I've ever seen. The textures look great. I like all the new features, the shield actually looks useful unlike most games.

While I think gears 2 will be epic, the 5 v 5 multiplayer is a bit weak. Some say 10 people mp is more than enough, but I think it will be a lot more fun if there are more players in mp. Well, may be xbox live can't handle it. :P
And did I mention that it looks exactly the same as gears 1? There are certainly more features; but there is no graphic improvement

The 4vs4 fit the game nicely, and the maps made it feel right. 5v5 is a step up and will make the matches even more exciting. Back when I was a PC gamer, I thought it was best to have as many people as possible in a match. Not true. Often times, except in clan matches, the large amount of players caused chaos, with little actual teamwork. With less players, the teams tend to act more like squads, communicating and helping each other out. More players doesn't necessarily mean more fun. If everyone has mics, a 60 player match could become a terrible chatroom. It all depends on who you're playing with.

As for graphics, small but noticable changes were made to the already good graphics of the original. It's hard to see improvement in these videos, but I'm sure that when I'm playing the game in November I'll notice a huge step up graphics-wise. But graphics have never been a huge deal to me. While really crappy graphics can sometimes spoil an average game, a game with great gameplay can not be ruined by the visuals. Gears gameplay is amazing to me, and the graphics are great as well. That's good enough for me.

well it depends on the game man. obviously a smaller ammount of mp players suits gears, but back on cod1 for pc or even any cod game, its better to have more people cause its a war game and thats what war games are about. especially the WWII games. and resistance is going to have 60 players online so games like that are better for alot of mp players. warhawk, socom, resistance1 etc. so it really depends on the game. i personally think gears will be perfect with an 8 on 8.

Using that shield looks like it's very effective. I always wondered how it worked, carrying it while running and shooting....etc(def will save your @ss when cornered)

I was right about getting HIT during the "fatality animations"..Finish them off quick.

The games does appear more fluid and seems faster.

Gears of War have always been Tactical, that's what sets it apart from Run and Gun shooters, like UT..etc. It actually falls in line with Rainbow Six and them other games but a little but more ruthless.

Looking at all of these videos it looks as if Queers of Bore has expanded on nothing from the original. The gameplay is bland and uninspiring. Graphically, it looks like a joke in comparison to the PLAYSTATION®3 title that shares the word "Gear" in the name title.

Resistance 2 looks far superior than Queers of Bore in all aspects and Dark Sniper will be looking foward once again to play b3yond with the system that has better holiday exclusives, PLAYSTATION®3.

And I say this as someone who still plays Counter-strike 1.6 a game in which the counter terrorists have a shield. The shield kicks a$$ and adds variety to gameplay. I never understood why Valve got rid of the shield for Counter-strike: Source. Of course, I never understood why CS 1.6, a game released 10 years ago, still kicks the crap out of CS: Source.

The new Resistance 2 trailer we're going to be shown at E-3 looks 4x, at bare minimum, better than the original. Your mouths will hit the floor at how much of a leap this thing took from the last time you've seen it.

If it doesn't represent whaT I just said Tuesday when they "officially" unveil the single player (I know gamehead showed a little bit but it was an old December build) I will leave this site for good and make a lot of people happy in the process.

Gears of War 2 here looks, in my very honest opinion, worse than the original. I like the color of the original. It looked more gritty, more real. This is loaded to the gills with excessive bloom and nonsense.

To be honest i think this game will be made or broken by the online community.

As far as no video recording, pretty disappointing, but screenshots is better than nothing.

Not to thrilled about them making some of the same maps, its great and all they adjusted lighting, but frankly gears doesnt have an overload of content so imo thats a big mistake.

one thing that also annoys me is they dont let everyone start with the same weapons. So basically whoever gets the shield first will have a huge advantage. Like wise with the grenandes, sniper etc.. Why they do that is just beyond me.

On A majority maps in gears is Asymerical with the same weapons on each side with the Class A destruction weapon sitting dead center that you'll have to fight for.Every round it changes and the other team get the advantage to be slightly closer. If you played gears you would know that.You'd also know that Each player in the MP spawns in differents lengths in the spawn points.Certain character run faster than other so this can lead to a big advantage.See if your communicating with your teammates about what to stop the other team from doing then it does'nt matter who gets what you know how to cove the bases with teamwork.You'll also know this is not final and that shield Will probably break or be destroyed. To have the ability to walk and fire a pistol unharmed is bullshi1t until you run out of Bullets.

Your not but we are because Gridlock is the Most beloved stage.
Its only one map redone and slightly redone.This might not even be final so your point is bogus.

Glitches did not ruin this game cause there are still millions of people playing this game.If anything the Host's Godhand make the game a turnoff sometimes if you have a host who's abusive his power with a sh1tty server. A good majority of those glitches are gone now. I think deep down inside you stay getting Pwned and is looking for a easier way to justify you not playing anymore.

I look forward to this game because a lot of little Exploits (Not Glitches) that occurs as tactics seem to be fixed now.
A Good storymode and a Healthy online mode will make this game a winner on the holidays.
