Meh... I imagine COD5 will for fill any World War 2 FPS craving I may (or may not) have.

Andreiy5770d ago

Does your cod have open ended experience? no loading? one big huge map?

JsonHenry5770d ago

I hope those are the console versions in those screens.. cause there is no way I am going to get that for my PC if that is the best it looks.

mepsipax5770d ago

well judging by todays current gaming industry, these are probably from the 360 version as it's the main build, it will get an okay port to the PC albeit some bugs, and will be ported to the PS3 with a drop in graphics and maybe a few features, as most devs are too lazy to figure out the PS3 hardware. But I'll buy it for PC anyway, it looks awesome, I think it's supposed to be stylized and I have no problem with that as stylized games like Killer 7 will stand out more later on, because when we finally achieve photorealism (crysis was close) than how the hell do we tell one game from another, thats where art direction comes in.

I'd love to see id software make a huge comeback. Carmack FTW

From what i have read this is gonna be a sandbox type game so those graphics are most excellent for a Sandbox game.

HeroOfCows5770d ago

Where did you manage to read that? Just curious, not knocking you or anything.

MK_Red5770d ago

Dude, id / Carmack aren't making this. They're making Rage and Doom 4.
Raven is handling this, just like Quake 4...

HeroOfCows5770d ago

Thank you! Bubbles for you!
Wow, I'm surprised they have it running on id Tech 5. At least they realized that id Tech 4 wouldn't cut it. Can't wait!

mepsipax5770d ago

an open world WW2 game, set in undercover nazi germany, wow, just wow, I've been waiting for this since I watched all those WW2 movies as a kid, like the Dirty Dozen, Hells Brigade, Where Eagles Dare, all great undercover WW2 movies, I just hope this will use lots of stealth, disguises, and non-combat mission, sweet jesus, I'm hoping this game will rock.

Knowing id, I think it will be more shooting than anything else.

i've seen the Tech 5 engine running quite beautifully last year so i'm sure it can pumpout amazing results

FPS nut5770d ago

This is more of a sci-fi series than a WWII game.

Odion5770d ago (Edited 5770d ago )

Woops

MK_Red5770d ago

I heard it's using Doom 3 engine instead of id Tech 5 :(

Gorgon5770d ago

Yes, I don't think the megatextures will be used in this one. At least id Tech 5 itself won't.

Odion5770d ago

why would they be using a 5 year old engine?

MK_Red5770d ago (Edited 5770d ago )

I see.
Can't wait to see Rage and other amazing stuff from Tech 5.

I don't know why they're using it but it's pretty obvious in the scans. Plus, I don't think id would be giving their super new engine to another company before they're done with Rage and Doom 4.

Gorgon5770d ago

id tech 5 isn't finalised yet. On the other hand I've read in some link that Wolfenstein IS using id Tech 5. We'll have to wait for confirmation on this. But even from the scans it doesn't look that great for what id Tech 5 can do.

Wait for Quakecon '08, all questions will be answered... maybe.

It got old tbh. Machine needed a break from the IP. Indie is a good reprieve.

Scheiße! Nein.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best in the series. After that:
New Order
New Colossus
Old Blood

Harryvok631d ago

I really wish they'd remake Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the ground up. Easily the best of them all.

MachineGames Proved It Was Worthy Of Wolfenstein By Fixing Bugs For Id Software

Speaking on Wassup Conversations, Matthies told the host that once MachineGames was founded, it didn't have enough money to hire a full development team and pitched around ideas for a while. Eventually, Id Software offered the team a chance to work with their IP, but first, they needed to prove themselves.
