Capcom hit the forum buzzers yesterday when it announced on its official community website that it would be unveiling a "super-secret project" named Flock at E3 next week. In less than 24 hours, popular speculation by the message board-visiting curious has already pigeonholed the new game as being an all-new IP powered by the Unreal Engine. Other trendy theories include the possibility that Flock is a codename for the oft-rumored sequel to Dead Rising, or that it's a survival horror game based loosely on the concept from the old Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds.
In reality, Flock is a much simpler proposition aimed at capturing the digital download market. Developed by upstart UK studio, Proper Games, Flock has actually been visually hinted about on Proper's website for quite some time now. In fact, there are abstract images taken from the project pasted all over the team's pages as you navigate through it. But once you realize what the game is all about, the random imagery actually makes sense.
