Why does a list of racing hits not have the 2 highest rated next gen racing games?

Forza horizon 2...86
Forza 5................79

EDIT, Me-Time should probably take into account the difference between a launch games install base and the 80m install base of an 8 year old console.

"Hit" doesn't mean highly rated. "Critically acclaimed" is more what you're talking about, though I'm not sure those scores qualify.

@foehammer
I'm pretty sure it's an opinion piece, and as such the author's entitled to put whatever the author wants on the list, even if what the author lists confuses you.

@RedRailgun

It was out of convenience that I brought it up. FM and GT are the most similar in terms of racing games. You wouldn't compare Dirt to FM since Dirt is mostly about rally racing with gymkhana on the side. You wouldn't compare GT to Dirt either since again, Dirt is mainly about rally racing. GT is mainly about circuit racing, the same with FM. Why not bring FM into the conversation since it's a valiant effort in a driving (mainly racing) simulation game. It has the tuning, but it doesn't have the features for rain, snow, dirt and yes, even kart racing.

So, can you explain why GT6 (iconic due to it unwavering status of raising the bar that doesn't include custom liveries and exaggerated sound effects, even though within the last year they've been improved to give the sound more oomph) has sold more than 3 million to 4 million copies with a user base of over 200k? The last time PD updated their figures was in March 2013 http://www.polyphony.co.jp/...

Only now has VGChartz caught up to that number but still is lower than PD's official copies sold for GT5... TWO YEARS EARLIER. GT6 is apparently only at just over 3 million, but PD hasn't shown just how much its games have sold since almost exactly TWO YEARS AGO.

GT6 released two weeks after the PS4 launched, and yet, there are still over 200k people using the online portion of the game.

It doesn't really matter how much FM5 has sold in this current gen nor how much GT6 has sold in the past gen. Still, if you compare the content of both games while taking into consideration what I just said in that last sentence, it matters how many people are still playing a current generation console racing game to the previous generation racing game. Why do you believe it doesn't matter how many users are still playing a game if not for it's quality or replayability factors? Again, this isn't trolling. I gave and always give credit where it's due.

Fact of the matter is, FM5 was a launch title for the X1 and has sold, according to VGChartz, 1.91 million copies as of Jan 31, whereas GT6, a title released 2 weeks after the PS4 and FM5 released, has sold only just over 3 million. I'll say that both games have been undertracked, but one of them has the clear disadvantage of being released at just about the worst time possible. Yet, in January, GT6 sold at least 50,000 while FM5 sold a solid 40,000. Both are undertracked, for sure. If you think GT6 is/was a failure, how has it managed to sell as much as it has while selling 1/4 of it's user base (the user base being 200k AT LEAST) in the first month of this year?

Because GT6 is a bad game with a good pedigree, or because FM5 is a good game with a bad pedigree?
Either way you want to look at GT6, I'm not bullshitting you about the amount of people that continue to play GT6 in competition for fun, in leagues for serious racing, or playing solo and possibly finding more players to befriend which was a whole lot more difficult in GT5 due to its lacking online features.

Check GTPlanet.net to see why people are keeping up with GT6.
Be serious about this. I'm not coming at you to shut you down or anything. Some people who swore off GT6 at the start, who didn't want to buy it after what GT5 was to them, a major letdown, are claiming there's more of an incentive now to buy or re-purchase GT6. Keep an open mind.

Would have gone with flatout ultimate carnage, burnout paradise, original nfs most wanted, nascar 05 chase for the cup, original grid or twisted metal black.

Yes that! I was that and high stakes remade. That's why I still have a ps2.

Grid 2? lolwut.

GRID autosport is so much better. And some of these games aren't recent at all nor were they big hits.
