Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Sexy Season Pass on PS4/XBox One Might Cost You More than a Strip Club

Going to a strip club might be costly, nowadays, but there's something else that might cost you a pretty penny, and isn't that far in the titillation provided: The season pass for the newly released Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

Wait a moment, the season pack cost 93$!?. What in the actual F**K! And they are costumes. This is a ****in ripoff. First Evolve with its BS dlc and microtransactions and now this other BS right here.

The customes should be in the game you ****in greedy bastards. **** you Team Ninja. Thats another developer i will never support again.

TheJacksonRGN3380d ago

Cue the "first Evolve" comments. Dead or Alive 5 did this "BS dlc" back on PS3 and Xbox 360.

ShinMaster3380d ago

That depends. Just how much of the character customization in Evolve is dependent on DLC?

-Lawless-3380d ago

It's not even remotely the same as Evolve and in fact Team Ninja would be more justified in using the same illogical cookie cutter response as those Evolve Devs did, more so than they ever where. "You don't Have to Buy the DLC" the Evolve Devs are full of BS.

In this case there isn't anything wrong with it. DOA5 isn't a full retail priced game and the content it comes with is more than enough to suffice because the content is only cosmetic.

It's not taking away from the game play experience at all if I can't put Kasumi in a dress that I purchased... in fact you can unlock several alternate costumes in the game just fine.

Don't make it seem like every time a developer actually makes DLC like they are supposed to rather than holding back disc locked content and microtransactions; like the majority do now, that because it's inaccessible to everybody means they are scummy as hell like Activision and TurtleRock. Do you even realize how many costumes DoA5 has accessible, and they are just supposed to hand out their work for free?

That's pretty counter productive, especially considering they've given people Core Fighters for free.

AKissFromDaddy3380d ago (Edited 3380d ago )

"DOA5 isn't a full retail priced game"

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is a re-release of a re-release.

First, Dead or Alive 5 in 2012. Then, Dead or Alive 5 Plus and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate in 2013. Now, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round.

The Balls They Would Have For Asking For Full Price Would Be Unbearable.

"Team Ninja would be more justified in using the same illogical cookie cutter response as those Evolve Devs did, more so than they ever where. "You don't Have to Buy the DLC" the Evolve Devs are full of BS."

This selective bias is hilarious and obvious. When it's one's favored video game, it's acceptable.

If it's a new IP that you have no attachment to, it's laughably unacceptable, huh? lol.

-Lawless-3380d ago

@AKissFromDaddy In response to what I previously said...how are you able to deduct that Dead or Alive 5 is my favored title over Evolve?

There is no selective bias in my opinion so if hilarity has ensued on my behalf due to my analyzing of both companies business practices and forming a opinion from such then by my means laugh on...I guess.

It still doesn't change the fact that even without the DLC the core fundamentals of Dead or Alive 5 remain the same and the incentive for purchasing DoA5's extra content is nowhere near as intrusive as Evolve's DLC Hud.

I bought DoA5 on release and didn't care for it so after awhile I sold it. Since then they have addressed many issues I've had with the game in it's Ultimate iteration.

However I didn't purchase repurchase DoA5 in the form of Ultimate instead I used Core Fighters and drew my conclusion from there. I opted for buying the content in Core Fighters that I "WANTED" because it's what I wanted not because it was content I felt obligated to subject myself to to increase the re-playability of the game like with Evolve in most cases.

The content I purchased in Core Fighters for PS3 will be accessible to me in the PS4 version and I will be able to play the game my way even if I don't purchase Last Round at it's desired price. It's not a greedy practice for a company to ask for money for adding new content to a game they want to continue to support.

On the other hand it's exactly the opposite of that to have content at the ready only to dissect the full game into bits and pieces so they can milk your pockets by making you feel excluded from other people in the community. "You Better Get This Content or You'll Be Left Behind". Destiny being the biggest offender to date and Evolve a close second.

This is why DOA5's DLC issue doesn't even compare in my opinion and why I say Team Ninja is more justified using that "You Don't Have To Buy The DLC If You Don't Want To" response...hell...you don't even have to buy the game if you don't want to and you can still play it.

CocoWolfie3380d ago

they made so many costumes. WHY?! XD

Eidolon3380d ago

Yeah, but boobs, so yeah.

CODallday3380d ago

there is 141 items to buy for Last of Us Remastered, but of course nobody complain because naughty dog made it

Spotie3380d ago

I'm certain it didn't cost ninety bucks, either.

Ozmoses3380d ago

I don't own or plan on owning Evolve or DOA...

but I mean if you thought the Evolve DLC was bad... than you need to go look at the PSN Store...

I'm still scrolling down trying to find something that doesn't have to do with DOA5LR..

literally took me like 2 minutes of constant scrolling before I finally came to the Add-ons that dropped last Tuesday (2/10)

ChrisW3380d ago

This has to be an early April Fools joke.

jonrskittles3380d ago

Atleast it's only costumes, and not new characters or anything special. Quit bitching. Plus doesn't Evolve have new monsters or whatever in it's DLC? Anyway I still dislike how the game is at full price since its an old game from like 2012. Should be 20-40 bucks atleast.

Ozmoses3380d ago

I'm not 100% sure..

but on the PSN store it says something like DOA5LR: Core Fighters only and it is downloadable for free.

I'm assuming you can download this version and it has "certain" core fighters...

if you want all the extra stuff.. than you have to buy all that stuff.

TrollsBringer3380d ago

You know why they're expensive? Because time has proven again and again that gamers will pay any price to get their instant gratification.

I thought this was the PS3/360 version remastered with all the DLC built in. The amount of stupid DLC that should have been unlockable in the first place is why I never bought the Vita version.

Guess i'll never get to play a complete version of this game. You can shove your season pass where the sun doesn't shine

OrangePowerz3380d ago

I don't know to what strip clubs you go but mine are very expensive.

On a serious note if that price is right and not just a placeholder its ridiculous for what is probably on disc content.

Abriael3380d ago

Can't be a placeholder, since it's already for sale, both on PSN and Xbox Live.

CocoWolfie3380d ago

I havent heard of a PSN price placeholder, even games that are £40 are £59.99 on the PS Store and dont change :/ my guess is all those costumes come into play. (when they shouldve been on the disc anyway??)

OrangePowerz3380d ago (Edited 3380d ago )

Sometimes people might forget to flip a switch when they activated it in.the store. Stranger things happened in the past :D

It just looks too insane to be real, it's like on the level of mobile games microtransactions rip off.

I know whay game deserves a massive backlash on the internet.

Baka-akaB3380d ago

I'm just glad it's no character dlc , making such a pass useless and irrelevant to me . Even if i agree that after 3 version of doa 5 , most if not all of that stuff should be offered with the game , or at least free

Dan503380d ago

Once again GOTY version for me.

Gran Touring3380d ago

wow, and people are complaining about Evolve? This is already the third and complete "Ultimate" edition of Doa5, and there's a season pass nearing $100 of additional dlc? not to mention that they're ALL costumes?

See the problem is that we don't hold these developers' feet to the fire, and that Tecmo actually believes this level of price gouging is acceptable, and has been since vanilla DOA5

The 10 Most Expensive Microtransactions And DLC In Games, Ever

From Xfire: "Remember when you'd buy a game and... that was it? You got the full experience by purchasing the full product one time. "

potedude1148d ago

Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.

Relientk771148d ago

I will never understand why people pay for this crap.

Master of Unlocking1144d ago

"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"

No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol

"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"

Ouch!

Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000

WTF...?!

Marie Rose: The making of Dead or Alive's doll-faced superstar

An in-depth interview feature with the developers at Koei Tecmo on the making of, and superstar rise of Marie Rose. From the feature: "For a series infamous for its big-breasted women and pin-up tone to then provide players with an option that so completely embraced cuteness was surely a creative risk. This is particularly true of markets outside of Japan, where people are as a rule far less comfortable with “cute” and “sexy” being in the same proverbial ballpark."
