think i'll just wait another week for dying light.

PaleMoonDeath3404d ago

I think that's the biggest mistake any person could ever make, REmake is THE horror game my friend, get invested.

nucky643404d ago

well, I liked RE2 even more than 1 (i'll never forget seeing the police station for the first time!) so I'd consider 2 to be "THE horror game".
I don't consider dying light to be a mistake - I like crafting/upgrading the weapons. I really excited about the parkour and being able to upgrade character attributes.
my thinking is RE1 might eventually come to ps+...so i'll wait.

nucky643404d ago

no loss - I had played (and enjoyed) the original when it first came out.

It's $20 for the defining horror game of the 20th century. And I havnt heard a thing about dying light in a while so good luck with that

Cam9773404d ago (Edited 3404d ago )

20th century? I think you mean 21st century and that's debatable, I'd say it's either SH2 or REmake

thehobbyist3404d ago

For Dying Light. Some Youtuber's like TwoBestFriendsPlay have been given access to the pre-alpha build. It looks like a better Dead Island.

lipton1013404d ago

Released in 90's originally so I went with the choice of 20th century. Though you do have a point as the remake was released in 2002. Bubbles for keen observation sir

DeadlyOreo3404d ago

Why not both like me? £15 isn't exactly steep, and you'd be missing out on one of the most defining games made.

FullmetalRoyale3404d ago (Edited 3404d ago )

See, now I am going to be playing this all throughout the week, until Dying Light comes out.

Can't wait for some zombie slaying coop. In the meantime I'll take a trip down memory lane and relive a classic.

Enjoy not playing a game though! XD

nucky643404d ago

right now I'm busy with metal gear solid: ground zeros...finally got a copy off of ebay for 9 dollars.

ifistbrowni3404d ago (Edited 3404d ago )

Isn't Resident Evil like $20?? Why would you even compare it to Dying Light ($60)?

I would rarely compare a $20 game to a $60 game, unless the $20 game outshines the $60 game. In this case, I would bet Resident Evil would satisfy you more as a zombie fan, than Dying Light.

jrshankill3403d ago

I find it a little sad that some people are ignoring Resident Evil Remake in favor of Dying Light. REMake is the best horror game ever made in my opinion that has stood the test of time. I don't think we will still be talking about Dying Light in 10 years time.

12:01am can't come soon enough.

lipton1013404d ago

Preordered the second it was available. Already downloaded and ready to go. CANNOT WAIT!!!! And here's to RE0 making an appearance too, another fantastic GameCube gem

Hope the game gets a lot of support from the fans and new comers also enjoy it,we really need Capcom to take note and turn Resident Evil back to the survival horror days.

Hoffmann3404d ago

Finally..after so many years this gem is finally available for non-Nintendo platforms.

About time.

pompombrum3404d ago

Is there any plans for doing HD remasters of 2 and 3 or are Capcom testing the waters with this first? As much as I loved the first game, 2 and 3 were the ones that really blew me away.

LightofDarkness3404d ago

The only reason they're releasing this is because the work is already done since 2002. They never remastered 2 or 3 this way, so they won't be getting this treatment. This is a HD remaster of an existing remake, no such remakes exist of the other games.

Resident Evil HD Remaster receives a new AI-enhanced Texture Pack, improves more than 1600 textures

DSOGaming writes: "These past few weeks have been really interesting as we've seen some truly amazing AI-enhanced texture packs for older games. Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, Half-Life, Max Payne, Morrowind and Doom are just a few of the games that got new high-quality textures that were produced via AI Neural Networks and today, modder ‘Shiryu’ released a new AI-enhanced Texture Pack for Resident Evil HD Remaster."

I'm not really convinced by this AI Neural Networks thing using this as an example. I know you can't ask for much when it comes to pre-rendered stuff, but you can barely see a difference with most of these. At its worst, there's an imperceptible difference. At its best, you can see it cleared up some jaggies and looks a liiiittle less blurry.

I will download it of course, but based on the screenshots, this doesn't improve things a whole lot.

It does make a difference. Mods in general are just awesome. They've helped make so many of my games look better. The HD reworked texture mods and other mods for The Witcher 3, for example, made it look way better.

dcbronco1927d ago

This may be small improvements now but it could be huge for gaming's future. AI with a ryzen based chip programmed to use the neural network to determine to the metal coding might allow programmers to focus on high level coding. That means games get done really fast and the budget goes into things like story and production. Once you have an ai that understands its given hardware it can decide how to run the code to maximize frames and resolution. AI will revolutionize gaming.
