Tokyo Xanadu and the next Ys game are both expected to release in Japan this September, according to Falcom’s latest business report.
The document reports that Ys will be preceded by Tokyo Xanadu. Which makes sense, given that Tokyo Xanadu will be Falcom’s “first title of fiscal 2015.”
Few video game franchises capture the spirit of adventure as earnestly as Falcom’s Ys. Ys is a love letter to the adventurer in all of us.
If it werent for the Vita i would've never discovered this awesome series. Last entry was not as good tho, still good, just not as good as the previous entries to me.

Highly recommended if you like FF Tactics. I believe it was Colin Moriarty's (Last Stand Media) GOTY last year.
Most of these are the weak story jrpgs which is why its an easy pass for myself. I don't have love to turn based or tactics battles systems but I enjoy the other aspects of jrpgs. The most important aspect to me is the story. I have put up with playing horrible battle systems and mini games that should never exist to enjoy the lengthy and amazing stories these games have. For some reason around the PS3 days they seemed to think, who cares about story just worry about battle system and crafting. So if those are the things you're looking for then this list is for you.
I’ve been trying to get back into playing JRPGs lately. With the recent release of Persona 5 Strikers, I finally decided to start playing Royal. I don’t know if I can make the time for just any JRPG though, and Persona games are always an experience and a half.
In 2019 & 2020, the ‘AA [double-A] publishing space was flooded with more noteworthy and interesting titles than we have seen in recent console generations. Games like Greedfall, The Surge II, & Maneater recall the glory days of mid-tier PS2 publishing. The first quarter of 2021 may be lacking in huge AAA releases, but for the next few weeks you can join GreenDragonCVR for an exploration of Q1 AA titles and the companies that make them: first up is Ys IX Monstrum Nox. This game, developed by Nihon Falcom, exhibits the eccentricity and experimental style that seems to characterize ‘AA development. Next week: Little Nightmares 2
I can't wait for this Ys game for PS4. It looks like everything you want for the series in a next-gen release.
