Pictures look sexy as usual!
Thing is the photo mode pictures adds post processing and touches up the image like anti aliasing! so the photo mode pictures are not really fully representative of real time game play! think of it like a pre render of the real time game image polished up! In fact its pretty much the same as what happens to celebrities when they are air brushed on a magazine cover.

Gran turismo 5 used to do the same thing hence why the images taken using the photo mode in the game would make the image look allot more detailed and better then it really looks!
Dont get it twisted the game is a stone cold stunner! NO OTHER RACING GAME LOOKS AS GOOD! and its what i expect from a 30fps racer which has double the time per frame for rendering!!

I honestly feel it is the first real next gen racer, the tech in driveclub is some of the most advanced technology ever used on a console game! look through my previous posts to read about some of the awesome tech driveclub uses.

doesnt impress me at all, i didnt spend over a 1000$ on G27 and the racing seat for nothing. Well, considering its now useless and i have to keep playing gt6, youre missing out on sales for people like me.

I'm in the same pissing boat as you are. I got Logitech GT wheel last gen and now it's rendered useless. I know it's a lot cheaper than your set up but those wheels cost as much as your consoles. I picked up Thrustmaster T80 n sadly it's nothing compared to Logitech Gt wheel.

I'm equally pissed though i must say the game is amazing.

I got the game last week and first thing i wanted was play with steering wheel. Now there's a huge catch. The only cheap official PS wheel is Thrustmaster T80 and it's no where compared to Logitech Gt wheel. T80 has no feedback, no motorised wheel nothing except the springing wheel.

I was heartbroken when i picked up T80. All i have to say is choose your wheel wisely. I wish sony supported my old wheel. It was ten times better. I'm telling you this bcoz i got burnt bcoz i didn't do my research.

I'm fine with playing Driveclub with T80 but my heart breaks when i think this will the wheel I'll be using to play GT7. I might as well skip the game. I never knew bad steering wheel can be so influencing. The next official steering wheel is too expensive for me to afford.

I have never seen a community try so hard to sell a game. The price has already had a big cut. The online has been fixed and the weather effect released.

Should be a lot easier sell if you guys and show some video footage of the amazingly smooth handling and the fun tactics you employ to get ahead of the competition. But instead, you are all convinced that people will run out and get this RACING game because you can see pretty cars and take picture. Good graphics can help with emersion, but cardboard cut outs is one sure way to detract from emersion and something that every sports game fan checks for. The car and effects look great, the surroundings are seriously underwhelming.

every human in crowds is 3D with pretty nice textures. Every object is 3D even grass is. Handling is very, very comfortable and smooth and competitive at the same time. So calm down when you don´t know what are you talking about.

What's super funny is that when forza 5 released the ps4 crowd cried downgrade (which it was) the xbox one crowd said that's okay as you don't park a car next to the track and look at the objects next to the track. You don't have to make a $60 gamble. If you actually have a PS4, there's SharePlay to help you make up your mind. And there's always renting the game or even buying a used copy. There are options outside of SharePlay, if you're not being too daft to notice.

I too am antiously waiting for the game on PSN+ but we haven't heard jack from them since launch. What makes it worst is that Sony is bundling this game as an oficial packed-in game in Europe so there is even less incentive for them to hurry up and relase it on PSN for us PS4 owners that bought the system since the beginning and got suckered in on paying $50 on the promise that we get things like Driveclub at launch.

Your excuse about shareplay and renting the game is not what Logic's point is pertaining to. It is about the principle and shareplay requires the host to be log on and is limit to 60 min and only limit to 720p for the client so how will people get to experience the glorious 1080p graphics that has been beating in our ears every since this game was announced thru shareplay? Renting? Not everyone subscribe to Gamefly. Also, if you keep using that attitude, then Sony will continue to do it to future games as well and delay promised PSN+ titles because they know people like you will bend-over and submiss to whatever they tell you and not delivered as promised.

And here you are defending them no matter what even when what was promised is AWOL with no release date in sight. Some people will literally ask "how high" when Sony tell them to jump. Smh

I myself am waiting on the PS+ version as well, even after the glowing reviews from my best friend (mostly because he is a far larger racing game fan than I am).

And for me it won't be a $60 gamble since I do have PS+. My issue is that I have a giant backlog and aren't pressed for new games.

If the online has been fixed, I think releasing the PS+ version to the masses to try out as basically a demo would be the best way to get more sales and increase the community as a whole.

The real problem is entitled gamers like you, who whine and complain when they don't get enough free stuff from companies that don't owe them anything at all. The discounts that come with my PS+ subscription, by themselves, more than pay for the sub (and most people who actually buy games as well, though I know that excludes cheapskates who don't buy anything), so the "free games" are just gravy.

I own a PS3, PS4, and Vita, and I buy digital games on all 3 platforms. I don't even care about multiplayer, and part of the reason for a subscription is to subsidize that, but you don't see me complaining about that. The additional discounts on games for PS+ members have been more than generous, and as I said they've paid for my subscription many times over.

The amount of entitlement in many less mature gamers these days is just unbelievable. Many of them want everything free and spoon-fed so they don't even have to get up off the sofa, SMH. Must be that Gen Y/Millennial spoiled attitude going on, I guess!

Yes it looks impressive, but after buying both Driveclub and GT6, and playing both extensively over the holiday break, GT6 is much more fluid and smooth. They both look great, although Driveclubs weather effects blow it out of the water. After playing GT6 for a few days, I found it hard to go back to playing Driveclub due to how choppy it looked while racing.

Considering GT6 is a generation behind, I think that says something. I like them both, but screenshots don't tell the whole story.

You really can't compare DC to GT6 though...GTA6 is going to offer way more as it has car tuning, its a car collector's type of game, part sim/arcade. GT deals with suspension, PSi....all that stuff that DC is not. DC is a straight up old-school arcade racer whose purpose is for intense racing/driving and not tweaking your car out.

I'm not talking about playing online, nor am I comparing the two on the basis of content. I simply saying that gt6 is more fluid in action, and that doesn't come across in screenshots.

I played driveclub for a few days straight, then purchased gt6 and did the same. Going back to driveclub there is a measurable difference in how smooth gt6 looks while driving and turning at high speed compared to driveclub. I enjoy both, and there is no agenda as some claim. I personally would rather it had a higher framerate as opposed to it having focused on a target of 30 for graphics sake. There are multiple videos of games showing the difference between 30 vs 60, and they can get the point across better than I can trying to explain it.

If you don't notice it, or it doesn't bother you then that's great but there are some that do. Everyone is different.

Racing in DC is fluid so it not only looks good but feels great despite being 30fps which no one notices. ive checked photomode, when you have selected your pose and dont move controller it does indeed add AA but car model is exactly the same theres no other real effects added just AA

If I was you I'd get it now, online is fixed, weather is patched in and there's a bunch of free dlc on psn. Your doing yourself a disservice by not picking this game up now, it's one of the best racers out, if not the best in my opinion.

Great game.

Having played a lot of GranTurismo and Forza games and knowing/being familiar with most of the tracks I especially love that the places/tracks on Driveclub are all so new ( and expecting more with the Japanese DLC tracks nearly soon ).

One thing I do hope they would improve upon is **background audio. The engine sound is quite good with great bass coming out of the speakers ( haven't tried using my headphones - sometime soon ).

Also think you can't really feel the vehicles' chassis vibration/connection with the ground filtering through the control pads with a definite thump, some are a bit washed-out.

I'm all for "crazy" graphics and impressive visuals/weather effects... but when the cars handle poorly it renders all of that useless IMO. Good game, just wish the "arcade" style racing was more refined.

And don't give me the same old "it's an arcade racer, it's gonna drive that way" line. You can develop a non-simulation racing game and still have realistic physics...
