the title should be changed to how to build a crap dx10 rig for £176

I'm surprised how bad his knowledge in hardware is.

He thinks size of the monitor affects performance. you can play 1024x720 resolution on 15" and 32" monitors and they will perform identically. resolution is what affects performance not size of the monitor.

You need good cooling in your PC, so case should pe picked carefully cause it can have effect on performance.

He is right about AMD they some models exceed intel's by price and performance, some.

Getting crappy mother board is stupid. am2(amd) or 775(intel) is the only way to go, 2x pci-e x16, 4xddr2 ram, also 2.0 version would be awesome but that might get pricey. personally I had nothing but great experience with asus, so get asus mother board, and spend as much as you can cause its the most important part in your PC, it will determine how far you can upgrade your PC in future.
Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI is a great gaming mb for a low price.
PS: dont base your mb purchase on whether it has SLI, its just an extra feature (good to have).

Buying one of those cards he recommended is stupid, you might play some games that came out on medium, with average res. But with new games coming out, you will lag behind, with the feeling "damn, need new graphic card to play that". So if your budget is low at least get 9600gt(100euro) or if you wanna aim higher get new ati 4850(160euro) its low price and high performance are just amazing.

He is wrong DDR2 beats DDR3 in ever aspect especially gaming. its much cheaper faster and just better. the only advantage ddr3 might have is if you are programmer and run lots of heavy apps at same time, still ddr2 would do great job at that for much lower cost.

whether you want dvd-r or rw, big hard drive or small, solely depends on you. blu ray isnt really needed on PC atm. easier to get ps3 if you wanna enjoy HD movies ;)

and indeed as bumnut commented, with those parts in the article, you will get a crappy dx10 PC which will barely run crysis on medium settings with low. res.

"He thinks size of the monitor affects performance. you can play 1024x720 resolution on 15" and 32" monitors and they will perform identically. resolution is what affects performance not size of the monitor."

I think the article was implying that 1920x1200 is probably the resolution most people with a large monitor are aiming for. I agree though, bad choice of wording for that part of the article,

Overall a pointless article in my opinion. If you only have 170quid to build a rig I'd probably just buy an XBox360!

There's a fine line between building on a budget and building a piece of trash on a budget. - What's the point of having an article that advertises building a DX10 rig for under £176, yet actually taking advantage of any DX10 eye candy would be practically impossible!

Also I didn't notice the article mentioning about the Operating System... Are they encouraging people to pirate Vista (for DX10 effects lol!!) rather than pay another £70!!

"Fails as a VIDEO GAME** " Which it's supposed to be... Even in the perfect reviews they're putting gameplay on the back burner like THATS NOT WHAT ITS ABOUT 🤯. Make it make sense.

Gave it a try earlier today ok PC runs really well on my older 2070 card on high with dlss

it's actually good it's visually impressive but nothing we haven't seen before.

Play it for the visuals the rest wasn't for me the constant voices in your head sluggish pace just bored me I found it overly cinematic I understand if people's love it but it wasn't in my taste I still think it's a good game just one I won't return to

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 review – A sequel missing the soul - Dexerto

In the end, the player ends up being robbed of any autonomy and ambiguity as to what they can expect. It reeks of the sadness of wasted potential. If the first game was a terrifying and harrowing journey delivered with intensity and atmosphere few other games have achieved, Hellblade 2 is a haunted house made to imitate the first game’s greatness that misses a lot of what made it such a memorable experience.

What does auspicious mean for dummies? of good omen; boding well for the future; favorable; propitious.

Look at the game and its track record, and proceed to guffaw.
