Saw the other one first dang. Like i said though, It looks like they are Planning a Heist GTAV style almost.

3-4-53417d ago

Destiny + ALL DLC @ $30 like 1-2 years from now might not be a bad deal.

JoeIsMad3417d ago

They won't come bundled at that price. They'll probably offer it at $60, because the original game will be worth $30 at that point. [see Call of Duty for reference.]

Fall 2015 Destiny GOTY with 3 expansions and other dlc stuff

and that's when it will be worth it because we will get the complete experience.

Benoski3417d ago

Well, if you told us that you were going to re-sell the game with DLC, Bungie, I wouldn't have pre-ordered the game in the first place, you sell-outs!

360ICE3417d ago

Of course they're going to resell the game with DLC. Pretty much every major game ever gets some sort of re-release. Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4, Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us, LittleBigPlanet. GTAIV had a "complete edition", and every game seems to be re-released on PS4 and Xbox One these days.

Also, I don't think the new edition will include any of the exclusive pre-order content, right?

--Onilink--3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

The exclusive content expires in fall 2015 and by then its long enough for preorder content to be included(at least some of it), since its pretty inconsecuential. So probably it will be

martinezjesus19933417d ago

Destiny hater at its finest. Every game ever has done this. Nothing new

Gamble203417d ago

So we are to believe that someone who pre-ordered the game (implying you are not patient enough to purchase after release) would have waited an entire year to get the DLC version? Right...

Scatpants3417d ago

Do you not know how this works yet? Every game does this.

fr0sty3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

Bungie is owned by Bobby Kotick now. What did you expect?

Jaqen_Hghar3416d ago

this happens with pretty much every well selling game. Don't even ask them to start announcing "and if we sell enough...we'll have a version a year from now that will have the DLC!" before a game comes out lol

objdadon3417d ago

All I know is I play destiny everyday so keep the content coming!

bananaboats3417d ago

Im right there with you, it always keeps me busy for a few hours

kneon3417d ago

But how many will still be playing by next September? I put in over 300 hours but stopped a few weeks ago and it's unlikely anything like this will draw me back in.

Baka-akaB3417d ago

Who knows ? despite the protests , many never truly left , and plenty still came back with the first expansion .

I didnt because i dont plan on coming back for so little new content and gotta play other stuff , so it will wait at least a second one , on the backburner

T2X3417d ago

I know. I enjoy this game regularly in my rotation. So, keep it coming. The only thing that aggravates me is that they should of put the grimoire cards within the game, instead of having to go to the Bungie website.

spacedelete3417d ago

i seriously don't know how anyone could play Destiny that long. i got bored of it in 1 week and sold the game. then good games released in holidays so no point playing Destiny. its not like its even a good game. i know next gen is lacking games to play but people can't be that desperate.

KwietStorm_BLM3417d ago

Amazing how we all got opinions, huh?

Farmassy3417d ago

@spacedelete

I am with you. I wasn't super impressed with the beta but bought the game anyway. I played the hell out of it to see if it was more enjoyable if you really jumped into it. It was ok but nothing special to me. I quit playing a couple weeks after and have been enjoying all the other titles available during the holiday season. I honestly forget the game existed

Sevir3417d ago

It's insanely addictive! I'll pony up the cash for Expansion 3... We already know House of Wolves comes out sometime in March!

BallsEye3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

Too bad they deliver more glitches than the actual content. I don't remember any other game being that broken. The day Crota got released we finished the raid in 2 hours in 4 man team thanks to the glitch fest. Now Crotas End takes around 30 minutes to complete in 2 people. I probbaly could also solo the thing without glitches. So far disappointed with the dlc. Vault of Glass is so much better.

@arkard

oh yea, expect $45 price tag on that major dlc.

cr33ping_death3417d ago

So you use an exploit to ruin the game for yourself....nice one genius.

Cra2yey33417d ago

Ah... The dlc is already on disc...

Kyosuke_Sanada3417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

If the "expansions" we got were 20 dollars, I really can't imagine the cost of Comet which actually has worthwhile content...........

martinezjesus19933417d ago (Edited 3417d ago )

Ive gotten a solid 30 hours out of this last expansion doing the bounties, story missions, strikes, and I have yet to play the raid, I think I got my money's worth, and I'm sure I'll get it out of this

slinky1234563417d ago

But those hours you've gotten out of the DLC is just reused content with a different coat of paint really. You could have gotten the same play time without the DLC. The DLC really adds almost nothing new besides the raid. I bought it, feel so disappointed that I'm having to play all the same stuff over that's just re-coated to just progress.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter348d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood348d ago (Edited 348d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro348d ago (Edited 348d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881348d ago (Edited 348d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell347d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig348d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast348d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername348d ago (Edited 348d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g348d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka348d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai499d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface498d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard495d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
