Game of the Year 2014

Usually, it's tough to decide which game deserves the honour of being Game of the Year. This year was relatively easier given the number of disappointments and games that just failed to live up to expectations.

My friend hates dragon age do to needing a group of characters to play it.
He wants it like skyrim.

I like the game though.

This year was weak compared to last year. Too many first person shooters.

DA: I is a boring game. I can't see the appeal to it. I enjoyed Origins way more.

DA:I feels like play a MMO but by yourself. It's pretty much the SP version of Elder Scrolls Online.

Lord_Sloth3437d ago

I wouldn't consider anything that launched this year worth that title.

I'm not sure of too many games that have launched "this year" so I'm going to have to agree with you. Well said.

It's a pretty good game, certainly better than most that released in 2014. However this game is full of side quests, which if you're a perfectionist, you'll enjoy. Otherwise most peeps will likely bore quickly.

Bioware still needs to work on the glitches & bugs. Plus we still need a storage chest!!!

That said, its a decent return for Bioware. Hope they continue to improve and regain their previous "awesome" status.

Skyrim is full of side quests also. Yet it's one of the most popular RPG of all time. Complaining about side quests doesn't make sense considering all of the things which DA:Inq brought to the table.

Xavior_Reigns3437d ago

Thing is I'm not complaining about that, but I can see many people doing so. For me, it provided more content and I enjoy 100% games like this or at least coming quite close.

What I'm complaining about is in my second sentence and there's quite a bit more.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
