Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?
Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Nothing wrong with putting Generations over Mania. Generations had a lot more to it. Mania was just a bit too short, despite how amazing it was. They're both top-tier Sonic games though.
I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.
Mania was 5 hours roughly

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.

Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
Even as a Sonic fan, I didn't really care for those games, and getting the Chaos Emeralds were freakin' horrible. Even with an emulator and save states, I didn't have the desire to try. I also didn't like most of the levels or bosses either. Unfortunately, DiMPs aren't good at making Sonic games.
The writing duo behind Sonic games like Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World reveal they have little creative control over their game scripts.
They need to start letting people take inspiration from the comics, there's a ton of great stuff to take inspiration from.
My beef is why even hire writers if you're just going to control the whole process. I'd be very upset as a writer if someone did that. A job is a job though.

Dumbest thing in the world, but if you hire writers, it looks like you made a serious effort to make something great.
Do you remember when the original Suicide Squad movie was coming out? How much did we hear about Killer Croc's actor watching cannibal videos to get into character? Or even the "incredible lengths" Jared Leto went through to personify Joker on and off set?

The Wii release of 2010's Sonic Colors received a remake for modern consoles, but what about the Nintendo DS sister title?
Back in the day you would get cases every now and then where the handheld version of a game was better. Chrono Trigger DS comes to mind. Not only did it have the cut-scenes from the PS1 release it also had new content that tied into Chrono Cross.

I don't think Generations deserves to be quite so high on the list, but, it's not a bad one. Personally, I would put Sonic CD over Sonic 1, though.
Sonic CD may not be the best sonic game, but it's one of my favorites for what it is, with time traveling, and pre-recorded music tracks.
Sonic 3 & Knuckles remains my favorite, though.
Sonic 2 is my fav followed by Sonic Unleashed, Sonic colors then Heroes.
Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best Sonic game of all time.
