Please no more freemium f2p online sh*t, if they want to make this an MMO,make it B2P like GW2.

Palitera3425d ago

Welcome to 2014. Enhoy it, because 2015 will be worse.

PraxxtorCruel3425d ago

So their secret announcement is DD:Online? Not really overwhelmed then to be fair.

breakpad3425d ago (Edited 3425d ago )

i hope Dragons Dogma 2 it is NOT MMORPG and have single player offline also

King-u-mad3424d ago

Hopefully they don't make it an mmo. MMO structure is just terrible as of now, there is no real diversity between them and nothing amazing about them anymore. They are just average games now. Hopefully the new DD has options for a true co op experience. Full campaign co op, as well as some other things like dungeons that you can't beat in one sitting full of mind bending puzzles, areas you can get lost in or trapped to meet your fate of death... something that would be an experience you share for a life time and not just something you played that was fun/cool.

It will be funny if they just renamed deep down as dragon dogma online.

I figured DD was Dragon's Dogma the moment I saw the reveal trailer back in 2013. Not only does "Deep Down" sound somewhat dumb (though it's intelligible given the dungeon crawl material revealed so far), but the initials DD clearly speak to Dragon's Dogma. The medieval style in DD fits Dogma. The futuristic setting of DD (akin to Assassin's Creed) isn't inherently antagonistic to Dogma, for various reasons.

In short, I wouldn't be surprised if DD is Dogma Online.

However, I also reckon that we'll see Dragon's Dogma 2 announced as a separate title in the early stages of development, based on the panta rei engine.

I heard it was going to be an Online type of MMO.

I liked Dragon's Dogma and even though I never got to finish it, it was definitely one of the better RPG's of the time.

While I really liked DD Dark Arisen I found that the quest system really let it down since the majority of the quests were really shallow. The DLC was IMHO pretty useless although the "Queens Outfit" had some fairly good stats but IMHO ridicules.

Another feature of DD was the so called "hard" mode which to me was stupid. Basically you got thousands of coins just killing a goblin in the first couple of minutes of the game, as for increased difficulty I did not notice it. To me "hard" is just that. If you want to play an RPG on hard mode try Oblivion or Skyrim. At the top hardness level the difficulty is insane.

One the best features of DD was the fighting system in that you could climb on some of the huge beasts. In addition the transition from day to night and when I say night you really do need a lantern. Also the map was quite large. These features really made up for some of the games shortcomings. I even liked the ability to take snapshots although you could do something similar in White Knight Chronicles.

Spoiler. If you killed the dragon and got your heart back you could finish the game in about 30 minutes after you do "a leap of faith" although I would strongly recommend you would do some more adventuring since the new enemies are more challenging.

If you have "DD - Dark Arisen" the island is huge and can easily add another 30 plus hours to the game.

As an aside: The "forger" is your best friend if you have the money. He is allot cheaper in DD - Dark Arisen as are the teleport stones.

Lord_Sloth3425d ago (Edited 3425d ago )

Me too!!! Dogma was hella fun!

Canary3425d ago

Well, you're not going to get it. Mobile games and MMOs are the best we're likely to see.

Dragon's Dogma Is Still Amazing

Although the sequel is on the near horizon, the original Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen remains a fantastic action RPG, still worth playing.

A lot of the quest lines in Skyrim are good(not all and they don’t add up as a whole if you do thieves guild mage fighters guild etc) The dragons are very lame after the first few times and the combat is clunky as it always has been. The stupid sprint button is ridiculous.

Overall I agree DD is the better rpg game.

Both have theirs strengths and weaknesses but Skyrim should be so much more being the 5th game in Elder Scrolls series.

Excited to see what they add on to DD 2.

Unfortunately all they have done to Elder Scrolls since Morrowind is take things out (minus the sprint button which is so lame because you can kill dragon god like creatures but can’t run for more than ten seconds without getting tired)

anast54d ago (Edited 54d ago )

I liked the vampire questline and the return to Morrowind was okay, but the problem with Skyrim was the lack of consequence. There is almost no point in the quests. After I realized this, I started messing around with the mods and then quit playing. Though, I did spend 300 hrs. on modded content, but this is telling of how bad the game kind of is.

If DD was the size or close to the size of Skyrim, It would have been the primer fantasy game back then. I hope they up the size with DD2.

5 Games To Play While Waiting For Dragon's Dogma II

Daman Shelley from NoobFeed writes - Dragon's Dogma is truly a one-of-a-kind game, and there really is no other game like it, but there are a few that come close. Whether with their fantasy settings, the ability to climb mountains, or just with the overall same charm as Capcom’s iconic RPG. Here's a list of games that will hopefully scratch that Dragon's Dogma itch.

gold_drake104d ago

cant wait for it, feb and march are busy busy months ha.

SovereignSnaKe104d ago

I can still hear the title screen music in my head after nearly 12 years. Loved every minute of it.

MrNinosan103d ago

I have no issues filling my time til DD2.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.
More terrified I won't be done in time.

DivineHand125103d ago

Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.

The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.

For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
