TO get back there money they will have to make a gazillion dollars off this game

Inception3458d ago

TLG isn't a big project and Team ICO themself also not that big. So no, they didn't need a gazillion dollar to get back their money. If yes than i'm sure Sony already cancelled this game years ago.

jjonez183457d ago

If they aren't making money then they are losing it. This game has been in development for almost 10 years now. A gazzilion is a gross hyperbole, but to say TLG wouldn't have to be a commercial success at this point is stretching just as far. They havent cancelled it because their are high expectations, Sony has a lot riding on this.

Inception3457d ago

Losing it than what, disbanded Team ICO?

Both ICO & SotC (not the HD collection one) aren't a big comercial success for Sony even though both game receieved a lot of positive response from the media and gamers. But as you can see, Sony keep letting Team ICO to produce another game with longer developement time compare to ICO or SotC. People always asking where's TLG but Sony always took their time to answer it like it's not a big project.

And you confused TLG with FF XV. The game in developement for almost 6 years. The 1st reveal is back in 2009.

Also, yes Sony did have high expectation with TLG but they didn't riding a lot in TLG's back. If they want to do that than it will be Uncharted 4, GT 7, the new God of War, or Guerrila Games new IP.

I Rememberer watching original trailer for this game and how beautiful it was going to be on PS3. Even tho I was bummed out it didnt make an appearance on PS3. I cant wait to see what its gonna be like on the more powerful PS4. This game is gonna make you cry...

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3458d ago

Hell yea. Trico the creature looked and behaved like a real animal in the ps3 trailers and I can't even begin to imagine how it would look on the PS4 version. There animators are the best in the business. Can't wait to see the first footage.

Concertoine3458d ago

It will be great, but i also think its unfortunate that it'll probably not come to PS3. SotC was the PS2's swansong, and the most technically impressive game on the console, and its sad TLG won't be that for the PS3.

CryofSilence3458d ago

The Last of Us filled that role quite well, I think.

I am all for this game coming to PS4 if it means it can reach its artistic vision.

kayoss3458d ago (Edited 3458d ago )

this might come out for the PS3 and PS4 too. If it takes any longer, it might come out on all 3 machine: PS3, PS4, and PS5.

"SotC was the PS2's swansong, and the most technically impressive game on the console"

Although I would agree with the fact that it was a fantastic and visually impressive game, the chugging framerate at key moments prevented it from being the most "technically" impressive title in my opinion.

At times the framerate was barely in double figures (although this didn't for one moment ruin the experience for me, it has to be mentioned).

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88171d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183170d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie169d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012854d ago (Edited 854d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog854d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC854d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76854d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
