What? ESO and Wildstar is not even on the list?

lotta3447d ago

Lol you expect Wildstar to be on that list.. And ESO... Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahaha good one

kamper3447d ago

Wildstar dropped off the top 20 in August. ESO dropped off in July.

F2P might save WS, the problem is that the market is saturated right now and a lot of their core systems were just not finished (and still aren't). They made the foolish assumption that they could stay afloat based on raiders and hardcore PvPers, then made the dual mistake of failing to deliver those systems solidly, and having no backup plan. They are going to need to fix their current systems and add in a lot of casual content, and they don't have all that long to get it done. Basically they get one more chance with a F2P relaunch sometime in the spring after the new has worn off all the MMO expansions coming out.

Roccetarius3447d ago

Wildstar has a lot of core issues to sort out before being a great game. Not even F2P is going to save that mess, before NCSoft decides to pull the plug on it.

It's hard to believe that game was in development for 9 years.

Archeage will "Never" be on that list again. October was the second month of release. Look where we are only a few weeks on.

kamper3447d ago

Trion destroys Archeage. Most of the Archeage player base is splitting back off into either WoW or SWTOR

halocursed3447d ago

I actually find it surprising that SWTOR is so high. I base that purely on the fact that you have to dig pretty deep into Twitch before you can find SWTOR on their list of games and there are very few viewers and streamers at any given time. This may be the case because of the nature of MMO's, but I still would have thought that SWTOR would be more popular among streamers/viewers if it was, in fact, the 12th most popular PC game. I realize that a large number of twitch feeds are streaming console games, but even still I would expected, say, Minecraft to be well above SWTOR on this list.

lotta3447d ago

tbh most video games are boring to watch other people play.

Bobby Kotex3446d ago

Personally I only do it for games I don't want to buy but have some interest in the storyline.

kamper3447d ago

MMOs are generally terrible as streaming games. Barring new content, the occasional raid, PvP, or someone popular playing with viewers, nobody wants to watch it. MMOs are boring to watch.

Pandamobile3446d ago

"the 12th most popular PC game" ...on Raptr.

SteamPowered3447d ago

Yaaay for FIFA!! Now come on EA, lets get the other sports franchises on here. NHL and UFC come to mind.

CoD #1 on consoles & LoL #1 on PCs. Casuals always win

Feralkitsune3447d ago

I wouldn't call MoBAs casual.

FanMan3446d ago

LOL is the most casual MOBA there is

rodelthegreat3447d ago

MOBA's are probably the least casual genre around.
