‘Destiny’ 1.03 Update Full Of Hidden Changes And Unintentional Nerfs

INQ: Bungie released the massive 2.22 GB to Destiny on Monday that made significant changes to the PlayStation and Xbox game. I detailed the announced changes in this Inquisitr article. However, players have dug in even further since the 1.03 update was released to find even more changes including new Crucible maps and Exotic gear. Unfortunately, some of those appear to be unintentional nerfs to some of the game’s Exotic weapons.

Yes, indeed. They need to keep the updates coming and continue to release free limited content as the end game is non existent.

DarthZoolu3476d ago (Edited 3476d ago )

Bungie is pissing so many people off, me included. They never fix the no brainer stuff. I bet minitors still regenerate health in Atheon fight. And how do you accidentally nerf the guns that need a buff the most. Also making it harder to solo nightfall before they make nightfall matchmaking? Dafuq!?!?

Khimarhi3476d ago

@ DarthZoolu, well the problem was that it is often easier to solo NIghtfall then it is to play with others. That's why they needed to rebalance it for solo. But I agree they do need a matchmaking.

Best way to fix a game is to break a game...?

MajorGecko3477d ago (Edited 3477d ago )

wooo new crucible maps!!!! here i come free maps!!!

i welcome the nerfs i got sick of being 1 shotted by a golden gun by people who play the game to much

CorndogBurglar3477d ago

what?

Anyone thats a Hunter can get the Golden Gun. Its one of their powers. Doesn't mean they play too much.

MajorGecko3477d ago

i had no clue it shows how much i play haha im level 24 warlock tho

n4rc3477d ago

Ya.. At least hunters need to aim for their super.. The other 2 classes have easy mode supers

Unspoken3477d ago

Yeah, the hunters golden gun has an increased hit box meaning you barely have to do any aiming and it will auto hit. Add the skill which increases accuracy and you have guaranteed kills. Then you have bladedancer...

Basically both powers provide mobile super kills vs the other two classes which is typically confined to a limited area.

Father__Merrin3476d ago (Edited 3476d ago )

its still in there, i went into a skirmish game again its just freaks running about doing fusion kills and sniper kills

Drabent3477d ago

Thats it this game is limited garbage BUT a valued trade in 2night:p

one2thr3477d ago

How much you get, in store credit?

Thinking about sacrificing my copy for GTA5

MrZweistein3477d ago

Seems Aksor gets a little more challenging again ...

SmielmaN3477d ago

No hiding under the platform anymore lol. Found that out today trying to do the weekly by myself lol. It was like "no, no! This is the first time I've actually tried to do this cheap trick by myself!" Haha. Oh well. Always thought it was lame anyways. I just wanted the bounty xp

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter362d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell361d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig362d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast362d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g362d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka362d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai513d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface512d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard510d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
